The last of my current batch of drawings is Radarmon’s evolved form, Sonarmon. The single massive ear has split into two still-fairly-large ones that can be rotated to hone in on specific sounds. Sonarmon can use echolocation to navigate in dark environs, as well as emit a loud chattering sound that is painful to hear that disorients and confuses predators, potentially buying her time to escape. She’s covered in dark fur, though I got lazy and didn’t shade her in to convey that like I was originally going to.

I feel like I got kinda lazy with Gokunmon here, but this Baby II Level Amphibian-type DigiFake IS just a bit, wide, pancake-flat baby with a bigass mouth. Its name is derived from the Japanese sound-effect for gulping or swallowing (which led me into some delightfully unexpectedly pornographic material when I was looking it up). As noted in the illustration’s notes, Gokunmon’s special is Big Gulp, where she just Kirbies the shit out of whatever poor fool is standing in front of her. She can’t swallow foes TOO much bigger than her, but her body can stretch to accommodate large targets and even if she can only gulp down a part of the foe’s body her body’s corrosive enzymes can dissolve part of their outer data layers, weakening their defenses.

Ah, right. She’s Gillmon’s evolved form, too.

Baamon’s evolved form, Woolmon is a little less creepy and a little more cute. Its main defensive strategy is special, Steel Wool, where it hardens the fibers of its wool, raising its defenses and causing foes who physically attack it to potentially scrape themselves up in the process.

Mandomon, from the Japanese pronunciation of ‘mandragora’, マンドラゴラ (”mandoragora”), is a mandrake-based Baby II Plant Digimon, and the evolved form of Nemon. She’s fairly slow and has poor balance due to her thin, rootlike legs, but she can emit a piercing scream to paralyze predators when attacked, buying her extra time to escape. I got the idea to give her holes for eyes and a mouth, like Togamon, from that one scene of that one manga/anime I see on this site from time to time of that one girl trying to give her friend a twitching, moaning mandrake as a gift.

Grubmon here is Honey’s evolved form. I couldn’t think of many notes for her when I sketched her out, but I like how cute and round her design turned out. There aren’t a huge amount of Baby-Level Insect Digimon, missed potential I think.

I’m probably most dissatisfied atm with Micromon here. I know what I want the baby to look like in my head, but she just really didn’t turn out quite right when I went to put her down on paper. She needs... idk, a tail or a crest? Something, definitely.

Regardless, she’s the evolved form of Rufflemon, and is named after the dinosaur species Microraptor. She’s not really based on a Microraptor, design-wise, but Digimon has never shied away from inaccuracies like that so I don’t see why I should have to.

Squirmon is one of my favorites of the DigiFakes I’ve managed to draw out so far just because he looks so delightfully absurd. I actually was having trouble envisioning what he looked like clearly but I’m delighted with what I managed to come up with when I finally drew him.

Squirmon is the evolved form of Dustermon, and he’s based loosely on a weasel or ferret, though obviously with the legs all bunched together on one end. His special technique, Wriggle dance, has him swing his head around by the long neck, a truly baffling display that often causes foes and predators alike to pause and stare, at which point Squirmon lashes out with his sharp teeth. The move is inspired by a behavior used by some wild weasels while hunting to disrupt the ability of some prey species, like rabbits, to correctly recognize and perceive them as a threat.

Shunmon here is the evolved form of Gutsumon, a Baby II DigiFake with a rocky hide and a fumarole for a horn. His name is derived from the sound of steam exiting a kettle (again, as far as I could find), so I think in the future I’ll draw the horn more like the nozzle of a kettle. He constantly emits steam from the horn, and can also spit out boiling-hot bubbles to defend himself with, though his tough hide makes him unusually durable for a Baby Digimon.

The name is unclear kinda bc I accidentally started writing her evolved form’s name by mistake.

This is Radarmon, a small Digimon with a single massive ear like a satellite dish on top of her head. She has exceptional hearing, which she uses to detect incoming threats and get away before they ever reach her.

A small amphibian-like DigiFake, Gillmon, as I so cleverly note in my scribblings on the sketch, is based on the head of an axolotl. Ideally the gills should have the detail of the branching gills of an axolotl but like. Dude. This is the first time I had ever drawn like six things in a row in literally YEARS I wasn’t pushing my luck.

The gills can also be used as makeshift fins to help Gillmon swim while underwater. She’s got the classic San no Awa to defend herself with.

Baamon is yet another Baby I DigiFake, like Gutsumon he’s based on Botamon (similar to how Nyokimon and YukimiBotamon are both subspecies of Botamon), but inspired by a sheep rather than a teddy bear. As stated in my notes on the image, his special technique is Thousand-Yards--he stares vacantly at the foe, unblinking, as the intense blankness in his eyes makes the target increasingly uncomfortable. It’s usually sufficiently unnerving to drive away Digimon up to the Child Level.

Only just now realizing the photo of this one turned out a bit blurry orz

Nemon (from 根 (”ne”), ‘root’) is a Seed Digimon, basically a large brown bulb with little rootlike tendrils and a single bit of green poking out through the top of her head. Her eyes are an amber color to evoke tree sap, and she can use the classic Baby Plant special, Nenchakusei no Awa to detain predators long enough to escape danger.

Honeymon has a really simple design, so this one feels a little lazy, but here she is anyway. A golden squishy ball that looks like a big droplet of honey. To defend herself, she can use Hachimitsu no Awa (”Honey Bubbles”), which is similar to the Nenchakusei no Awa (”Sticky Bubbles”) used by a lot of young Plant Digimon, forming a sticky mess upon bursting, except it smells like honey. Yaaay.

This one’s Rufflemon, a Baby I level Chick DigiFake. I see him kind of like a prehistoric subspecies of Puwamon, with some scales mixed in alongside the feathers. He relies on that kind of intense, moody stare to look scarier than he is, and he can fly, but not very high or very far, bc his wings are so tiny.

...This one’s also messier than the other two. I couldn’t get in to erase that outline without fucking up all the feathers orz

Here’s Dustermon, another Baby I DigiFake from the same set as Gutsumon. He’s a little fluffball like Yuramon, except the floof is fur instead of that stuff some seeds make. It’s very soft and naturally picks up dirt, dust, etc. which he can then scatter all at once by shaking to send irritants into a would-be predator’s eyes, allowing him to escape.

Now that Gutsumon is up, I guess I’ll just blandly post what this is--a place for ErotesianAngel to dump any sketchy illustrations that I manage to crap out after almost a decade of barely drawing more than a handful of little doodles a year. I had a quick burst of artistic productivity the other night and I kinda want a place to put all these and maybe anything else I can force out going forward, but I’m not productive enough to justify joining any actual art sites or trying to get back into the long-abandoned accounts I used to have on a few that might still technically be there.

I won’t likely be tagging this stuff precisely bc I’m way too self-conscious and I’m not sure I really want total strangers potentially stumbling across my pencil-doodlings in any Digimon threads, especially since this is the first mass-drawing I’ve done in SO long and my self-esteem was always very fragile to start with, so friends and particularly nice mutuals are probably the only people who’re gonna find this anytime soon, which I’m perfectly content with.

So I actually forgot when I drew this that I had changed this little bugger’s name...

This is *Gutsumon*, a Baby I Slime Digimon that resembles a Botamon made of boiling water with eyes, with two bubbles serving as the ‘ears’ from Botamon. His name is derived from gutsu gutsu, a Japanese onomatopoeia for bubbles popping in boiling water.

...At least according to the sources I found. If anyone with a firmer grasp of Japanese ever sees this and knows for a fact that that’s not correct, please don’t hesitate to correct me ^^;;
