i think maul is painfully averse to any kind of physical affection. you try to cradle his face once and he flinches away like you tried to stab him. and then looks at you like this

One thing I think the fandom sometimes forgets is that Maul is canonically disabled. He is an amputee. Not just missing a limb or a few fingers, but his ENTIRE lower half. There are definitely some fics out there that really do this characterization well though.

Yeah, he's incredibly capable in combat, and his cybernetic legs let him do things that seem almost impossible. But that doesn't change the fact that he lost the entire lower half of his body. It’s one of the defining aspects of his character, physically and mentally. Maul: Shadow Lord also reminds us that his prosthetics come with limitations and aren't a perfect replacement for a biological body.

Which got me thinking about something I can't stop wondering:

How does Maul actually eat, digest and pass food?

Do you think his cybernetics include something like a stoma or an artificial waste-processing system? Has there ever been any lore that addresses this, or is it just one of those questions we're not supposed to think too hard about?

I don't think there's any lore but I did just spend 5 hours writing a fic about it. So either this is amazing data harvesting or we all want to know if Maul eats solid food.
