Erylus was sitting on a bed in Aira's treehouse, lights off, muttering something as best as they could with their limited breathing ability. As they did so, a soft light appeared in their cupped hand- mostly an off white, but swirling with deep reds, black, and something somehow darker than black. It seemed more tangible than when they had shown Jeremiah. As it appeared, they looked excited, turning their hand and examining it.
( @aira-offical , whenever you're available!)
Aira sits on a tree just a few yadrs away, playing with a leaf.
Eri continued just looking at it for a moment, before carefully touching it with their other hand, wincing slightly-
What they were holding wasn't really their soul, more representing their soul. Even so, they could feel it, and it wasn't the most pleasant. But it did mean they could manipulate their soul with it, force themself to heal.
They waited for a moment, considering- it was probably dangerous, and they should probably ask Aira to check in on them if they werent done in half an hour.
They whispered something under their breath, the light disappearing, and they headed to where they could see Aira.
She's lounging on the tree, one leg hanging off the branch, fiddling with the leaves.
She seems slightly tense if one looked really really closely, but she did a good job of masking it.
They stood within view for a moment, before quietly clicking their tongue to get Aira's attention.
'What are you doing?'
They turn at the sound and smile upon seeing Eri. She swings down the branch, landing on the ground quickly, stumbling slightly.
Hey Eri. Long time no see.
How've you been?
And I uh. Was just thinking about some stuff.
They looked a bit worried when Aira stumbled, but quickly smiled.
'I'm alright. I think I know how to get this-' they gestured to the area with their still not fully healed wound- 'to finish healing.'
'Do you want to talk about it?'
Really? How so?
Later. I'd like to know what you've found out first.
'By removing the imprint of the wound out of my soul. That might not be the best way to explain it.. Regardless, it should work.'
Your uhm. What now.
'Soul? I'm not sure if its what everyone would think of as a soul, but its-
I don't know how to explain it. An imprint of me- or maybe a blueprint is a better term- who I am, what I've done, what's happened to me. I assume when I die, it either stops existing or goes to whatever afterlife I'd go to.'
No I know what a soul is. It's just.
We are not experimenting with souls. There has to be a better solution.
'I'm not 'experimenting'- anymore. I know how to do it. And I don't think there is.'
She bites her lip, hesitant.
It's not a good idea, Erylus. So much could go wrong.
'I don't know how else I could possibly finish healing it..'
It's incredibly risky.
'Leaving it as it is is painful. And I'm pretty sure it's making me more thirsty.'
I heavily advise against it. But if you think you can do it successfully and stop the pain, go ahead. I'll be there with you every step of the way.
'Is there something you would suggest instead?'
They sigh.
I...I'm not sure on what can be done here....Have you talked to anyone else about this?
'I mean- I showed Jeremiah, just briefly. Before I could even touch it..? I don't think that's what you mean, though.'
Did you tell him what you planned with this?
'Yes. He wished me luck.'
I see. Did he agree with your plan?
'Didnt say anything other than that he wishes me luck.'
Alright...
'I promise I'll be careful. You can stay close, and if anything dosent go how I expect it to, I'll stop.'

'Jeremiah!?'
They crouch down, abandoning what they were doing- it was unclear what they had been doing.
'Are you alright?'
a bit of pain, but y-yeah
'Why were you in a tree? Is your eye okay?'
i w-was wanting to glide, & my eye is like that because of l-leural
'Leural-?'
yeah, leural, the kid one, she just attacked me for no reason
'I have no idea who that is.'
oh, s-sorry, i thought you would... shes an angel
'It's possible I've met her, but I don't think I have. No reason for her to attack you, you said?'
yeah, none
'..How do I contact her?'
dont
'I just want to talk.'
okayyy....
*he coughs*
'Are you alright?'
mostly
'Any way I can help?'
'..Wanna see something cool I learned how to do?'
sure
They said something out loud- though they did it quietly, in pieces, and it wasnt understandable-
But a strange shape of light- mostly an off white, but swirling with red and black, and something that was somehow darker than black, appeared in their cupped hands.
woahhhh, whats that? whatd you do?
'Its my soul-
Not really. It's more- representing my soul.
I think I might be able to heal my wound this way, if I get better at this.'
oooh, thats really cool! i-i hope you succeed
'Thank you!
Do you want to touch it? It's not really tangible, but it's cold. And warm. At the same time. It's interesting.'
yeah
*he sticks his hand into it*
It was warm and cold at the same time. Not painful, and not really uncomfortable, but not very comfortable, either.
interesting...
*he swirrled his hand in it*
Eri paused slightly, looking at it, then smiling.
'Hey, I am getting better at this- I can almost feel that! I bet I'll be able to heal myself in no time.'
oh! th-thats interesting, i can also mess with souls
'Yeah? How do you do it?'
i cut open the chest, then put my hand on their sternum & i-i-i dont know, but
*his pupils dilate really big*
that, i do that! then i see their soul & n-nothing else
*his pupils shrink*
its r-really strange...
'Oh!
That is a little strange! Is it cool, though?'
yeah! im gonna try to fix my own soul using that!
'Oh! What's wrong with your soul?'
i think the age thibg & memory loss
'Ah. I wish you luck fixing those!'
m-maybe also the cat ears & tail
'Awe, but those are cute!' they teased.
i havent actually seen them on me s-so i cant judge that
'I guess that's fair.'
'...You never did tell me how to contact Leural.'
i dont know how, you have to find her
'I'll figure it out, I'm sure.'
o-okay, why do you wanna talk to her so bad?
'She hurt you.'
she was experiencing paranoia
'That does not change the fact that she hurt you.'
i guess
*he sits up*
'Are you going to try again to glide?'
no, i-i have been doing it alot, ive had practice, i dont need to do some & given i fell its p-probably not a good idea to try
'Yeah, alright.
Do you need anything I'd be able to get you?'
*he yanks you down into a hug*
(we ignore the wrong blog reblogging it. I fixed it.)
'Oh-!'
They hugged him back, though they nearly fell.
sorry, d-did i hurt you?
'No! I was just surprised all'
sorry, i didnt mean to
'It's alright! I'm glad to give you a hug'
*he wraps his wings around you*
They hugged him tighter for a minute, then relaxed.
'Thank you'
oh, d-did you need a hug?
'I mean- its always nice'
*he falls out of a tree in front of you onto his back*
