There's something incredibly soothing about this sunlight shimmering on the water:
An Introduction To Single Cask Scotch Whisky
Following our first great whisky evening a few weeks back, I'm very excited to announce a series of upcoming whisky tastings in collaboration with Andrew Skene of Scotch Corner.
The first of these tastings will take place on Monday, August 19th, when Andrew will take us through a bespoke introduction to single cask scotch whisky.
He'll be sharing the history of scotch and how it's made, introducing the different scotch whisky regions and their distilleries, and teaching us how to enjoy scotch at its best.
This introductory session will cost $60, which includes a guided tasting of 4 specially selected single cask scotch whiskies, as well as some tasty nibbles.
The event will take place at Owl's Brew, 146 Mackenzie Road, S228723 (map here).
We'll start at 7.30pm, and should finish up around 9pm
Please note that we have just 16 places available for this event, so if you'd like to join us, please tweet me via @eskimon and let me know how many tickets you'd like by August 16th (you're very welcome to invite partners and friends too!).
You might also like to know that we'll follow this session with 6 different tastings over the next few months, with each event dedicated to a different whisky region:
Thursday 3rd October: Speyside
Thursday 7th November: Highland
Thursday 5th December: Lowland
Thursday 9th January: Campbeltown
Thursday 6th February: Island
Thursday 6th March: Islay
We're aiming to keep the cost of each of these sessions to around $60, depending on the 4 whiskies Andrew will take us through on the night, but the actual value of the whiskies sampled will be in the region of $75+.
Andrew will also be offering special discounts on any bottles purchased during these events, which makes the whole event worth it in itself!
Tweet me (Simon) via @eskimon, or call Andrew on 6337 6445 if you have any questions.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
NB: This event is strictly limited to guests aged 18 or over. Andrew reserves the right not to serve anyone who cannot prove their age on the evening. Please remember that you'll be sampling a range of alcoholic drinks on the evening too, so don't bring your car. We can help you to arrange a taxi on the evening if necessary.

Vanity Metrics
Too often, marketers rely on “feel good” measurements to justify their marketing spend. Instead of pursuing metrics that measure business outcomes and improve marketing performance and profitability, they opt for metrics that sound good and impress people. Some common examples include press release impressions, Facebook “Likes”, and names gathered at tradeshows.
