I think the most important thing about Sonic is while he's cocky, he'll never make you feel bad for the inevitable "you-showed-up-to-kill-him-and-he-rocked-your-shit-and-now-you-have-to-work-together-to-kill-the-actual-final-boss" stuff that happens.
