UPDATE: House Behrmont Children Found Safe

The two small children belonging to now-extinguished House Behrmont have been safely found.

Residents of Bellevaux, one of the larger towns in the Ever Lakes area of the Central Coerthas Lowlands, discovered a pair of toddlers wandering around House Bonvivant's estate, which is typically open to the community. They were in a kitchen area and appeared to have been given toddler-appropriate food even before the townsfolk discovered them.

Although Bellevaux is heavily guarded and does not fully shut down overnight, no one saw or has any idea of how or when the children arrived or who might have dropped them off. However, Bellevaux is not far away from the manor where the children and their families, cousins of the main Behrmont bloodline, resided.

Both children were completely unharmed and appeared to be in high spirits, as toddlers on an adventure often are. Their identities were confirmed by the Lord Bonvivant after news of House Behrmont's fate reached the town.

House Bonvivant has claimed the two children as its wards, with full support of High House Fortemps, which were the liege lords of both houses Bonvivant and Behrmont. Additionally, the lands belonging to House Behrmont, as well as the mines it had purchased, now revert to High House Fortemps' jurisdiction.

House Behrmont Extinguished, Mines Collapsed

In a series of events that took place seemingly within the space of a bell overnight, the minor noble house Behrmont has been wholly eliminated, with no known relatives surviving to accept leadership of what remains.

House Behrmont's holdings were in the Eastern Coerthas Highlands, situated between Maidenmere and the former Dawn Vigil. The area had not been resettled following the Calamity, and instead mostly resided in The Pillars in Ishgard, with a handful living in the Central Lowlands.

The office of Ishgard's coroner estimates that at around two o' clock this morning, groups of trained assassins descended upon all known locations of House Behrmont's families and put every member to the sword, excluding two very young children, whose bodies were not recovered on or near these properties and may still be alive.

Around the same time, a system of mines in the Coerthas Western Highlands, near Dragonspit, collapsed in on itself. The mines were on land that had been purchased by House Behrmont and was being mined for tungstite, for purpose of developing armor out of a new tungstite-based metal alloy. It is not known whether this happened due to natural causes or foul play, but given the deaths of the entire family (or near enough to matter), the Temple Knights have opened an investigation.

Rumors already circulating around the Brume suggest that an unknown person ordered the mines evacuated ahead of the collapse, but no official reports reflect this fact. No casualties were reported at the mines.
