Hi! This post is for my folks over on ao3 who have read my work, I tried to line the songs up with moments in the story and feelings the characters had. :)

Initially, I intentionally wrote Frank as someone who was severely flawed. Redeemable, but flawed and he knew that. He knew he wasn't the best person, he could make peace with that. But he wanted people to see him as all he is and still desire his company, closeness and bond. Thats what Dennis gave him.

At this point in the story, Dennis and Frank are brutally in love with each other and either not realising (Frank) or convincing themselves its just what regular dude bros do. I know its ironic that I have an obsession song in here, but in the context of my fic I think of this song as them very clearly seeing something is HAPPENING here. And they're both denying it for the sake of each other. Its how most stories end, trying to please one another by not acknowledging whats happening.

The drunken shenanigans. The panic. The absolute two million different emotions that Frank and Dennis both go through. They've ruined everything (they think).
