Summary: After sulking all day and ranting to Liv, Y/N is shocked when Arthur shows up at her door. Their fight turns vulnerable as Arthur admits he only ever argued with her to keep her attention, and she reveals she noticed him all along. The tension finally snaps, and they give in to their feelings in a heated, passionate encounter.
Warnings: Straight up smut
Y/N had been moping around her flat all day.
No makeup, hoodie too big, hair scraped up in a half-hearted bun. She’d scrolled through Netflix twice without picking anything, reorganised the same pile of laundry three times, and was currently staring blankly at the kettle as it boiled when her phone buzzed across the counter.
Liv.
She groaned, swiped to answer.
“What’s this I hear about you and Arthur snogging in the bathroom at the pub?” Liv demanded the second the line connected.
Y/N closed her eyes, already exhaling. “Hello to you too.”
“I had to hear from Isaac about it? Isaac. Do you know how humiliating that is for me? I thought you were my best friend. We tell each other everything!”
“Liv—”
“No, don’t Liv me. Forty-five seconds into my boyfriend’s recap of the night I realised I’ve been left completely out of the loop.”
Y/N pinched the bridge of her nose. “Fine. What did he tell you? I’ll… fill in the blanks.”
That earned a sharp, delighted inhale from Liv. “Oh, this is going to be good.”
Forty Minutes Later
Y/N was pacing her living room like it had personally betrayed her, gesturing wildly with her free hand as she recounted every messy detail. Liv had barely let her breathe in between, punctuating each part of the story with dramatic gasps and little noises of outrage.
“…and it’s not even like I wanted a relationship or anything,” Y/N said finally, dropping onto the couch with a groan, voice hoarse from venting. “I just thought—you know what? I thought I’d get a text.”
Liv hummed knowingly. A sound that said, I agree. I’m furious on your behalf. Shall I slash his tires?
“I mean, we literally made out three times,” Y/N went on, holding up her fingers like evidence in a court case. “Once in a pub toilet, once outside in the smoking area, and once while the rest of the guys were in the bathroom. And then what? Nothing? Radio silence? Does he think I hallucinated the entire night?”
Liv snorted. “Maybe he’s dead?”
“I checked his WhatsApp. He was online.”
“Oh, babe…”
Y/N scowled at her phone like Arthur himself might be hiding behind the screen. “I hate him.”
“You really don’t.”
“I do. I hate his stupid face, and his stupid smug mouth, and his stupid—”
Knock, knock.
She froze.
“Liv?” Her voice dropped. “There’s someone at my door.”
“If it’s him, punch him first and kiss him second,” Liv advised immediately.
Y/N crept towards the door, phone still pressed to her ear.
Another knock. Slower this time. Deliberate.
She swallowed, heart kicking against her ribs, and opened it.
Arthur.
Same maddening face. Same smug mouth. Hair slightly messy, hands shoved in his pockets like he hadn’t just detonated her entire mood.
Her chest stuttered.
“Liv, I’ll call you back,” she muttered, hanging up before her best friend could squeal something incriminating.
Arthur blinked. “Hi.”
She didn’t move. “Seriously?”
“I didn’t know how to text you,” he admitted.
“Are you—are you twelve?”
He stepped inside without waiting for permission, and she didn’t stop him.
“You could’ve said anything, Arthur,” she snapped, folding her arms. “Even a meme. You’re good at those. Something to acknowledge that you didn’t just—evaporate.”
“I know,” he said, voice low. “I just… didn’t know what the fuck to say.”
“Oh, that’s helpful. Really clears things up. You kissed me like your life depended on it and then ghosted me like I was a LinkedIn recruiter.”
Arthur winced. “It wasn’t on purpose.”
“You know what, forget it. I don’t even care anymore—”
“Yes, you do.”
“Don’t tell me what I feel.”
“Fine. Then tell me.”
“I feel like an idiot,” she burst out.
He took a step closer.
She didn’t back away.
“I feel like I let something happen I knew would get messy, and now it’s messy, and you’re here with your vague half-apology and no reason for anything and—ugh, I should’ve just left you in the bathroom.”
Arthur was right in front of her now, her voice fraying, brittle around the edges.
“I hate when you do this,” she whispered. “When you show up like it’s nothing and I just—forget everything I’m angry about.”
He didn’t argue. He just lifted a hand and cupped her face gently, thumb brushing her cheek.
This wasn’t like before.
Not frantic. Not tequila-fuelled. Not about winning.
Soft. Careful.
He kissed her.
Not a rush. Not a grab. Just lips against lips, slow and deliberate, like he was giving her time to pull away.
She didn’t.
She kissed him back.
And it felt like an answer to a question neither of them had dared ask.
When they finally pulled apart, foreheads pressed together, Arthur’s voice was a whisper.
“I didn’t text because I knew if I did, I’d want to see you. And if I saw you, I knew I wouldn’t be able to pretend it was just a one-night thing.”
Her breath caught.
“So… what is it?”
Arthur inhaled, still figuring it out. “I don’t know. But I think I want to find out.”
She didn’t reply. Her fingers just curled into his shirt and she kissed him again — her terms this time.
Later, they sat tangled at opposite ends of the couch, knees pressed together, the quiet between them thick. Arthur looked exhausted. Not smug. Not deflecting. Just… open.
“You know I’m not good at this,” he said finally.
“At what?”
“Talking. Honestly. Without winding you up.”
“Antagonising?”
He huffed. “Yeah. That.”
“So try.”
Arthur rubbed his neck, then met her eyes. “I used to argue with you because it was the only time you paid attention to me. You were sharp. Relentless. Brilliant. It made me feel like I mattered. Even if it meant winding you up just to get that version of you.”
She blinked, heart tightening. “That’s insane.”
“Yeah.”
“And kind of manipulative.”
“I know.”
“And… not true.”
He frowned. “What?”
“You think I didn’t notice you unless we were fighting? You’re wrong.”
She sat forward, earnest now. “I noticed everything. The way you leaned back in your chair when you were itching to speak. The fact you never finished your drinks. The way you stayed till last even though you acted like you hated being out. I noticed you, Arthur.”
Arthur gave a short, humourless laugh. “I thought you hated me.”
“I was obsessed with you,” she whispered. Then, bolder: “Still am.”
The silence snapped like static.
Suddenly she was in his lap, his hands gripping her waist as their mouths crashed together in a kiss that was all heat and history, messy and inevitable. Her hips rolled against his, chasing friction, his groan vibrating against her lips.
“This is a bad idea,” she gasped.
“Worst,” he muttered, trailing hot kisses down her neck.
“We’ll ruin everything.”
“Probably.”
She kissed him harder.
Clothes started hitting the floor, half-forgotten, laughter breaking between frantic kisses. He lifted her effortlessly, stumbling down the hall, cursing when he opened the wrong door, until finally they spilled into his bedroom in a mess of limbs and breathless laughter.
And when she tugged him back down to kiss her again, it wasn’t careful anymore. It was everything they’d been holding back — burning, reckless, impossible to stop.
She hadn’t expected him to be so gentle, she hadn’t actually expected a thing, but the way he laid her down on the bed did all the talking
Arthur waisted no time pulling her bra off. He did it so effortlessly she could if sworn it was his second nature.
“So fucking pretty.” He groaned breathlessly before latching his mouth on her now hard nipple
“Arthur!” She sighed he licked a wet stripe over the bud. The cool air that followed formed goosebumps on the skin. His free hand toying with the other mumbling something about how he can’t leave it out.
Y/n let out a moan as he bit down on her nipple slightly her hand gripping his biceps like her life depended on it. her hands slid down his chest as he made work of her nipples swapping between both reaching for his belt buckle. She quickly un did it before his hands came down to pull his jeans off
“Can I?” He asked reaching for the waistband of her legging. She nodded. Almost too quickly. Arthur let out a shaky breath as he pulled her leggings down to reveal her lace underwear that now had a very visible wet patch
“Barely touched you and you’re already soaked.” He teased his fingers running over the soaked fabric making her arch her back into his touch even more letting out an almost pornographic moan
He didn’t bother to ask this time just pulling her underwear off and discarding them somewhere in the room
“Bet you taste so good.” he whispered leaving a trail of open mouthed kisses down her chest to right were she needed him the most before pressing a kissed against her thigh as he wrapped his arms around them to hold her in place.
Y/n purred his name as he blew hot air over her swollen clit before diving in. his tongue traced her folds before he lapped at her clit. Y/n back arched off the bed, electricity bolting through her nerves. Her hands flew to tug at his hair as he lapped at her clit feverishly so Desperate to taste her. He caught her off guard slipping a digit into her, groaned into her when your legs locked around his head, securing him in place. Not that he needed it. He’d stay here forever if she’d let him.
“Taste so fucking good.” He groaned pulling away for mere seconds before going straight back in
“Don’t stop.” She moaned while he slipped another finger inside of her. his fingers pumped in and out of her while his tongue made work on her clit. her thighs tremble and eyes roll back into her head. One hand grip the sheets her knuckles white, while the other tugged at his locks. The pressure in her abdomen built but so does something else, something deeper at the same time.
“Fuck Arthur… please.” She begged her thighs tightening around his head. She was sure she’d have bruises where his hands had been on her thighs the way he was gripping at them
“You close pretty?” He asked his fingers moving faster before she sucked at her clit again nipping it a little this time
“Please.” Was all she said giving him his answer. It was all she could say. No words other than please and his name roamed her brain in that moment
“Cum for me pretty girl.” He practically begged sounding almost as needy as she did in that moment. It didn’t take much more than a few finale flicks of his tongue before she was cumming all over his fingers and mouth
“Such a good girl for me fuck.” He said moving back up letting her taste herself On his mouth. The pet name making her let out another moan as she tried to catch her breath. He leaned down once more Kissing her softly as he pulled his boxers off Pre cum already leaking from his tip.
Y/n attempt to move herself down to repay the favour but he stopped her “as much as I’d love for you to suck me off I need to be inside you.” He barely whispered kissing her again
“are you sure you wanna though?” He asked y/n nodded if she wasn’t so worked up she’d of told him how cute it was that he was still asking if she was sure like he hadn’t already made her cum
“need words pretty.” She groaned growing impatient
“yes I’m sure.” Arthur chucked at how frustrated she sounded before he leaned down to kiss her once more as he lined himself up with her entrance before he sank into her both of them gasping at the feeling.
She hadn’t expected him to be so big. The feeling making her rake her nails down his back as he bottomed out.
“fuck, you feel so good,” he moaned. She was appreciative of his slow thrusts letting her get used to his size her constant wines were evident of that. Arthur brought his hand to her mouth shoving two of his fingers into her mouth as she sucked them. Once satisfied they were wet enough he pulled them out of her mouth and moved his hand down to play with her clit once again.
“That feel good?” He asked
“So good Arthur.” She moaned as he quickened his pace before He groaned in her ear as she clenched around him. His free hand moving to wrap around her throat squeezing slightly as his hips moved faster.
“Keep squeezing me like that an I don’t think I’m gonna last.” He said as her eyes rolled into the back of her head while he kept up his relentless pace. She could barely think the only word she could say was his name
“Good fucking girl.” He said as she clenched around him again making his legs almost give out from the feeling
“Fuck Arthur… I’m close.” She managed biting her lips to stop herself from screaming out
“You're close, huh Doll? You gonna cum all over my cock like the good girl you are?”Each one of his words brings her closer and closer to the edge, and all it takes is his thumb massaging against her clit to push her over. Everything goes tight. She cry out a high-pitched moan, whispering Arthur name like a mantra. She clench hard around his cock, but his pace never slows which makes the pleasure almost painful. Her thighs are trembling where they're wrapped around his torso and her hands curl into the sheets.
“God you look so pretty like that.” His thrusts start to grow uneven and His breaths become sharp as he snaps his hips against hers until finally he releases a strained moan from low in his throat and stills inside her, spilling his cum into her. His head drops to the crook of her neck momentarily pressing light kisses over the marks he’d previously left. He pulled out of her rolling onto his back next to her.
They both didn’t say anything for a moment before he broke the silence the only way he knew how. By cracking a joke.
“That was so much better than what I thought everytime I wanked over you.” She let out a laugh louder than she thought it would be
“You’re such an idiot.” She said as he wrapped his arms tightly around her like he wasn’t ready to let go — like maybe he never had been.
“An idiot that made you cum twice.” She gasped
“Watch it or that will never happen again.”
“Hmmm whatever you say pretty we both know that was too good for it to be a one time thing.” She didn’t know where this confidence had come from but she liked it.
A lot.
“At least let me suck you off next time didn’t even get to use my talents.”
“Christ, give me 10 then you can do anything you want.”
Summary : Arthur and y/n have had a weird dynamic since they’d know each other. Non stop bickering about anything and everything. They’re in there usually routine until something in them snaps
(No smut in the part but it’s gets pretty steamy in the coming parts)
“Right. Ground rules,” Chris said, sliding into the booth with all the authority of someone who’s broken up one too many arguments between y/n and Arthur. “You two,” he pointed, “no bickering tonight.”
“I never bicker,” Arthur said immediately, smirking as he reached for the drinks menu. “She starts it every time.”
Y/n scoffed, already irritated by the way he hadn’t even looked at her yet and was still managing to rile her up. “You are clinically incapable of letting a single sentence pass without contradicting it for fun.”
“I’m just playing devil’s advocate.”
“You are the devil’s advocate.”
Chris held up both hands. “See? This is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. One night. One drink. No debates. You both swear.”
“I swear,” she said, raising a hand like she was in court.
Arthur mimicked her. “Swear.”
Isaac, already three sips into his pint, muttered, “I give it twenty minutes.”
It was going well, at first.
They were all packed into that familiar booth at the back of The Fox & Firkin, drinks in hand, the air thick with that classic mix of beer, perfume, and pub chips. The music was too loud, the table too sticky, and the banter just chaotic enough to feel like home.
George was telling a story about a disastrous Hinge date where he’d accidentally insulted the girl’s dog. Chris kept interrupting to ask what breed it was, and Isaac had just spent five minutes trying to explain what “delulu” meant because his younger sister had said it to him and now he was panicking about being “terminally out of touch.”
Y/n was mid-sip when George turned to her with the most George-like question possible.
“Hey,” he said, pointing at her with his glass. “I saw this TikTok where this therapist was talking about, like, mental health being not just in your brain, but, like, in your life as well? Like your environment and stuff? She called it… bio-psycho-social? Is that legit or just therapy buzzwords?”
She smiled. A warm, genuine one. Finally, a question in her wheelhouse that wasn’t being hurled at her like a dart.
“Actually, that’s a really well-established framework in psychology,” she said. “It’s called the biopsychosocial model, and it basically says that mental health is influenced by a mix of biological factors, like genetics or neurochemistry; psychological factors, like thoughts or emotions; and social factors, like environment, relationships, or stress.”
George nodded thoughtfully, clearly making a mental TikTok-to-real-life translation.
Arthur took a sip of his pint and, casually, “So basically… science, feelings, and vibes.”
Her jaw tightened. You didn’t even look at him. “Not vibes.”
“I’m just saying,” he added with an infuriating grin, “sounds like a theory that covers all the bases so you can’t ever really disprove it.”
She turned toward him, face already heating. “It’s not about being unfalsifiable. It’s about acknowledging that human behavior and mental health are complex. Reductionist models don’t capture real-world nuance.”
“I just think if a theory includes everything, it ends up meaning nothing,” he said with a shrug, like he hadn’t just opened the gates of hell.
Chris groaned. “Guys.”
“I didn’t start this!” She snapped, rounding on Chris. “He’s the one who—”
“I was just asking questions,” Arthur said, that faux-innocent tone that made her want to knock his drink over. “Isn’t that what we’re all here to do?”
“Oh, please, you weren’t asking—you were condescending.”
“It’s not my fault you’re emotionally attached to your theory.”
George looked from her to Arthur like he was watching a tennis match, pint halfway to his mouth. “Oh no.”
She set your drink down, too hard. “You think because you know how to argue, you understand psychology. But this isn’t a debate club, Arthur. It’s people’s lives.”
“I’m just saying, if you’re gonna treat your emotions and your mum yelling at you in Year 7 the same way you’d treat serotonin levels, maybe don’t be shocked if people don’t take you seriously.”
“You’re such an arsehole sometimes.”
Chris stood up halfway. “Alright. I’m stopping this. That’s enough.”
“No,” she said, voice low. “I’m done. I need air.”
She pushed herself out of the booth, grabbed her bag, and walked off—not to the exit, but down the corridor toward the bathrooms, away from the boys, from Arthur, from that look on his face like he was enjoying this.
The door shut behind her and she braced her hands on the sink, breathing hard.
He always did this. Took things too far. Made it personal. And she always took the bait.
She was barely calming down when the door creaked open again.
She looked up in the mirror. “You’re not allowed in here.”
Arthur stood in the doorway, leaning on the frame like this was all a minor inconvenience. “Door didn’t say that.”
“This is the ladies’—”
“It’s 2025,” he cut in. “I identify as someone who’s not done talking.”
She turned to him. “Of course you do.”
“I’m just saying,” he began, stepping inside and letting the door shut behind him, “you don’t have to walk away every time I disagree with you.”
“You weren’t disagreeing—you were being smug and dismissive like you always are when you feel out of your depth.”
His mouth twitched. “I’m not out of my depth. I just think the theory is overly convenient.”
“You think everything’s convenient if it doesn’t cater to your logic. But people aren’t spreadsheets, Arthur.”
“Okay, but that doesn’t mean we should stop trying to understand them rationally. Or do you think emotion trumps evidence now?”
Her hands clenched at her sides. “That’s not what I— You always twist it. You twist everything.”
He took a step closer. “Only because you’re easier to argue with when you’re angry.”
She stared at him. His jaw was tight. Eyes locked on her, glinting, sharp.
Her heart was pounding.
“Maybe I wouldn’t be angry if you didn’t act like you know better than me all the time.”
He stepped in again, now close enough that her backs almost touched the sink.
“Maybe I do it,” he said quietly, “because it’s the only way to get your attention.”
Something snapped.
She surged forward and kissed him. Or maybe he kissed her. Either way, it wasn’t soft. It wasn’t sweet. It was teeth clashing and hands pulling and breath stolen mid-sentence.
His hands were at her waist, tugging her against him. Her were in his hair, fingers knotted hard enough to make him groan into her mouth.
She pulled back just enough to whisper, “I still think you’re wrong.”
He kissed her again, harder.
“Yeah,” he muttered, lips brushing her jaw. “I know.”
There was another knock on the door. “Hello? Anyone in there?”
They both froze.
Arthur rolled his eyes and called, “Occupied!”
She tried not to laugh, still breathless, still pressed against him.
He looked down at her, flushed and disheveled and entirely too pleased with himself.
“This doesn’t mean I agree with you,” she warned.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” he said, smiling.
But his hand didn’t leave her waist.
And hers didn’t leave his shirt.
The knock on the bathroom door went ignored.
Because now, his hands were on her hips like he’d always known they’d fit there. And hers were gripping his shirt like letting go would mean surrender.
She broke the kiss first, pulling away just enough to breathe—but not enough to stop touching him.
“What,” she panted, “the hell are we doing?”
He didn’t answer. Just looked at her with that maddening, unreadable expression he wore whenever he was calculating what to say next. Like he was two steps ahead in the argument even if he hadn’t opened his mouth yet.
“I mean—” she laughed breathlessly, the absurdity hitting her. “We’re arguing about a psychological model in a pub bathroom.”
Arthur tilted his head. “It was a flawed model.”
“You’re still doing it.”
He smiled. “Can’t help it.”
She looked up at him. “You know this is a bad idea, right?”
He nodded. “Awful.”
She was still holding onto his jacket. “We should go back out there.”
“Yeah,” he said. “We should.”
Neither of them moved.
Then her eyes narrowed slightly. “Wait.”
Arthur blinked. “What?”
She studied him like a puzzle you were finally putting together. “You did try to kiss me that one time. At George’s party.”
His smirk faltered. “No I didn’t.”
“You so did.”
“Did not.”
“Arthur—”
“You leaned in first.”
“I was trying to get past you to the fridge!”
“Right, because people always make intense eye contact before grabbing a beer.”
She shoved his shoulder. “I knew it.”
He grinned, proud and infuriating. “Well, it didn’t happen, did it?”
“It would’ve, if George hadn’t walked in.”
He shrugged. “We’ll never know.”
She narrowed your eyes. “You chickened out.”
That did it.
He stepped forward, crowding you against the counter again. “I didn’t chicken out,” he murmured, voice lower now. “You were just being annoying.”
“You’re such a liar.”
He kissed her again.
This time slower, less angry. Like the fight was fading and something heavier was taking its place. His hands slid to her lower back, pulling her closer. She melted into him before her brain could offer a counter-argument.
When she finally pulled away, lips swollen, heart pounding, she said, “We’re going to have to talk about this.”
Arthur groaned. “Do we?”
She raised her eyebrows. “Yes. We’re not just… whatever this is.”
He looked dramatically pained. “Can’t we just repress it like normal adults?”
She rolled her eyes. “And this is why you’d fail a psych degree.”
He grinned. “Still managed to kiss the psychologist though.”
She shoved him again. “Get out of the girls’ bathroom before someone calls security.”
He kissed her cheek and muttered, “Bossy,” before finally heading for the door.
She stayed behind for a moment, gripping the counter, heart still doing somersaults.
She’d known it. Deep down, she’d always known he tried to kiss her that night.
And now?
Now she had no idea what was coming next.
But she had a feeling it was going to be loud, chaotic, and impossible to explain to your friends.
When she walked back to the table, Arthur in front at a very not suspicious at all distance, the energy changed.
She could feel it.
Chris looked up from his drink with a sort of resigned dread, Isaac blinked like he’d just spotted a fire on the horizon, and George—dear, cursed George—narrowed his eyes slowly, theatrically, like a cartoon detective.
She slid into your seat and reached for her pint like nothing had happened. Arthur followed suit, cracking his knuckles like someone preparing for a boxing match.
No one spoke.
Then
“So,” George said, slowly. “How was the bathroom?”
She froze mid-sip. Arthur didn’t even look up.
“What?” She said, far too fast.
“The bathroom,” George repeated, watching the two of them like they were exotic animals he’d just caught mating in the wild. “You were gone a while.”
“Normal,” Arthur replied immediately, very convincingly. “Bathroom. Normal. Situation.”
“Really?” Isaac asked, trying and failing to suppress a smile. “Because I’ve never seen two people return from the loo looking like they either had a fight or just… I don’t know, rearranged each other’s internal organs.”
Chris winced. “Isaac.”
She glared at Arthur. He glared at her. Because apparently, now was the moment their usual performative hatred was supposed to double as an alibi.
It didn’t work.
“Okay,” George said, placing both palms flat on the table. “Which one of you is lying about not kissing the other?”
“We didn’t kiss,” y/n and Arthur both blurted in unison.
A beat.
“Oh my God,” George whispered, delighted. “They so kissed.”
Chris put his head in his hands.
Isaac leaned forward. “Wait. You actually did?”
“No,” she said quickly, “we—Arthur was just continuing his stupid debate and I told him off. That’s it.”
“Right,” Arthur nodded, eyes darting around, “and she overreacted again and then we… came back.”
“Overreacted?” She hissed under her breath.
George gasped. “You’re fighting already? Even after snogging in a toilet?”
Arthur muttered, “We didn’t—”
“I’m sorry,” Chris interrupted, voice muffled behind his hands. “Snogging in a toilet? What is wrong with you people?”
There was a thick silence.
Everyone was looking at her.
Her skin prickled with the kind of heat that had nothing to do with shame and everything to do with the sheer ridiculousness of her life.
Arthur cleared his throat, stood up, and said the five words that, historically, had never led to anything good:
“Should I get some shots?”
George screamed.
Chris audibly groaned. “And here we go.”
Isaac clapped once. “It begins.”
The night slowly came to an end after way too many shots of tequila and unresolved tension.
Y/n and Arthur were in the back of an uber there knees touching slightly but no word were said until they stopped outside her flat building.
“Y/n… I….” Arthur started before shutting himself up
“Goodnight Arthur.” Y/n stepped outside before she could say something stupid. Like do you want to come with me or are we going to talk about this or text me when you’re home.
He didn’t.
She checked her phone in the lift, waiting.
Nothing.
She woke up with her makeup half-smudged and her phone under her pillow.
No message.
No call.
No reaction at all.
She stared at the screen like it was supposed to explain something. It didn’t.
HI !!! I love your rafe series! Are you adding more chapters??? Because i literally love this. It’s the perfect amount of spicy and sweet but also dark romance I neeeeeeddd. I literally LOVE this! Please add more!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hey hey, I will most probably continue this soon but I’m currently writing my dissertation for uni so i don’t have any free time to write ☹️ but I’m hoping to be back up and writing by May!
Hi, yes I did I had a bit of a nightmare one night and decided I hated everything I’d ever written so I wiped my account. I think I still have a few in my privated that I may eventually reupload
Summary - After a fight and a misunderstanding, Arthur’s heartfelt gesture forces Y/N to confront her feelings, leading to a pivotal moment in their relationship.
"I’m sorry. I didn’t think it was a big deal. I told him I didn’t feel the same," Y/N said, her voice low and careful. She and Arthur were standing in the middle of Isaac’s birthday party, trying to avoid making a scene.
"Not a big deal?" Arthur’s voice rose, barely contained. "A guy confesses his love for you—my girlfriend—and it’s not a big deal?"
His words only made Y/N more frustrated. She clenched her jaw, trying to stay calm. She didn’t want this argument, especially not here. "Arthur, I’m sorry. I should’ve told you," she said softly, but it didn’t stop him.
Arthur continued, his voice louder now. "It’s a big deal, Y/N. How could you not think this was important enough to tell me?"
Y/N’s patience snapped. "What is it, Arthur? You think I’m keeping my options open?" she shot back, her voice sharp. And he said nothing.
"Fuck you!" she spat, storming out of the house. Arthur called after her, his tone suddenly desperate, pleading for her to stay. But she didn’t turn back. By the time he realized he had gone too far, she was already gone.
That night, Y/N ignored the endless stream of texts and calls from Arthur. Apologies filled her screen, his words tumbling over themselves. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled. The texts kept coming until they suddenly stopped.
The silence might have worried her if she wasn’t still so furious. The next morning, she woke up to a single message.
Not from Arthur. From Nicole, his ex.
A photo. Arthur and Nicole in bed together.
Y/N stared at the image, her chest tightening. Hurt. Rage. Betrayal. She didn’t know which emotion to lean into, but she knew one thing: she needed answers.
Her roommate drove her to Arthur’s place under the impression Y/N was just collecting her things. She had no idea Y/N was about to unleash hell.
"Arthur!" Y/N stormed into his flat, her voice echoing through the space. Isaac appeared in the doorway, raising an eyebrow.
"Chill with the yelling. Prince Charming’s on the couch, regretting every drop of tequila," he said nonchalantly. Y/N didn’t respond. She headed straight for the living room.
Arthur sat slumped on the couch, his head in his hands. He looked up, bleary-eyed, as Y/N marched in. "Y/N, I’m sorry about last night—"
"I don’t care about that!" she cut him off, shoving her phone in his face. "What the fuck is this?"
Arthur’s face turned pale, his mouth opening slightly before he finally managed to speak. "That’s not what it looks like," he said, standing up.
Y/N took a step back, shaking her head. "So, one argument, and you run back to her?" Her voice cracked despite her best efforts to stay composed. Tears welled in her eyes. "Was this what you wanted all along?"
"No, Y/N. Please, listen to me," Arthur pleaded, stepping closer. "Nothing happened. I drank too much, passed out in the spare room. I didn’t even know she was there until I woke up."
"I don’t believe you," Y/N whispered, her voice trembling. She turned on her heel, tears streaming down her face. "Isaac, will you drive me home?"
Isaac hesitated, glancing at Arthur, whose silent plea was clear. Still, Isaac nodded. "I’ll take her."
Arthur stepped forward. "No, I’ll drive her."
Y/N didn’t have the energy to argue. She climbed into the passenger seat, staring out the window in silence as Arthur tried, and failed, to explain himself. When they pulled up to her house, the weight of everything hit her all at once. She burst into tears.
"Y/N," Arthur said softly, reaching out to her.
"Just leave," she choked out. Her voice was firm, even through her sobs.
Arthur got out of the car, walked around to her side, and opened the door. Instead of walking away, Y/N fell into his arms, crying harder than she had in years. Arthur held her tightly, lifting her off the ground and carrying her up the stairs to her door.
For a moment, they stood there in silence. Then Y/N finally whispered, "Leave."
Arthur’s heart broke, but he nodded. "Okay," he said quietly. He wiped his own tears and walked away, giving her the space she needed.
Hours later, Y/N was lying in bed, her pillow soaked with tears, when a soft tapping sound broke through her haze. She ignored it at first, but when it continued, she dragged herself to the window.
There he was. Arthur. Standing in the pouring rain, holding her favorite flowers in one hand and a pebble in the other.
"What are you doing?" she called out, her voice thick with emotion.
Arthur didn’t hesitate. "I’m in love with you, Y/N!" he shouted over the rain. "And nothing—nothing—is going to change that. I didn’t do anything with Nicole. I swear. I’d never hurt you like that."
Y/N’s resolve wavered. She shook her head, tears threatening to spill again. "There’s nothing you can say to make this right, Arthur," she said, but they both knew she didn’t mean it.
Arthur’s voice softened. "If you really mean that, come down here and tell me to leave. Say it to my face, and I’ll go. I promise."
Her heart pounded as she stepped back from the window. She slipped on her shoes and walked outside, the rain soaking through her clothes in seconds. Arthur stood there, drenched, his eyes locked on her.
"Tell me to go," he said, his voice trembling. "And I will."
Y/N stared at him, her lips trembling. "Arthur..." she began, but the words she meant to say wouldn’t come out. Instead, she surged forward, capturing his lips in a desperate, rain-soaked kiss.
Arthur wrapped his arms around her, pulling her as close as he could. "I love you," she whispered against his lips.
"I love you, too," he murmured, holding her tighter, knowing she was his again.
Summary - Chris forgot to turn his location off after the breakup
Chris and y/n had broken up. The separation hit her like a freight train, leaving her devastated and adrift. Every corner of their shared apartment echoed with memories of him, each one a knife twisting deeper into her heart. She wandered the rooms aimlessly, picking up objects imbued with shared moments—his favorite mug, the book he'd been reading, the photo of them on the beach last summer.
Days turned into weeks, and the pain didn't lessen. Instead, it became a dull ache that gnawed at her insides. Y/n tried to distract herself with work, friends, and hobbies, but nothing could fill the void Chris had left behind. She hadn't spoken to him since the breakup; the silence between them was unbearable.
One evening, y/n was lying on her bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, when her phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen, and her heart sank. It was a Life360 notification. Chris was at The Black Dog, the bar where they had spent countless evenings together, laughing, sharing secrets, and falling in love. The notification felt like a cruel joke, a reminder of what she had lost.
She convinced herself that he must be on a date, and the thought made her feel sick to her stomach. The image of him with someone else, smiling and happy, was more than she could bear.
Unable to handle the weight of her emotions, she called her best friend George and arranged to meet him for drinks. George had always been her rock, the one person she could rely on when everything else fell apart. When she arrived at the bar, George was already there, waiting for her with a concerned look on his face.
"Y/n, are you okay?" he asked as she sat down next to him.
"No," she admitted, her voice trembling. "I just need to forget, even if it's just for a little while."
They started drinking, and y/n was relentless. Drink after drink, she tried to drown her sorrows, her mind replaying the happy moments she had lost. George tried to keep up with her, but it was clear he was worried. He watched as she spiraled deeper into her grief, powerless to stop her.
As the night wore on and the alcohol took hold, y/n resolve crumbled. She fumbled for her phone and, with shaking hands, dialed Chris's number while George was in the bathroom. He answered on the third ring, his voice a mixture of surprise and concern.
"I just don't understand how you don't miss me," she slurred, launching into a rambling monologue. "You said I needed a brave man, and then you played that part until I believed it. It kills me. How do you not miss me? Do you hate me? Was it all some esoteric joke? I feel like you were making fun of me.” She rambled
“Y/n” he said trying to stop her rambling clearly worried
“Now I want to sell my flat, set fire to all my clothes, because the smell of you won’t go."
Her words poured out, raw and unfiltered, and by the end of the call, she was in tears. She hung up, the phone slipping from her grasp as she buried her face in her hands.
George gently took the phone from her and led her out of the bar, hailing a cab to take her home. "Come on, y/n. Let's get you home," he said softly.
Several hours later, there was a frantic knocking at her door. Y/n, still groggy and disoriented from the alcohol, stumbled to open it. She blinked in surprise, her vision blurred by tears. Chris stood there, looking disheveled and desperate.
"Chris?" she mumbled, barely able to believe her eyes.
"I went to The Black Dog tonight," he said, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. "I hoped you'd be there. I wanted to see you."
Y/n stared at him, her mind struggling to process his words. "Why?" she managed to ask.
"Ending things with you was the biggest regret of my life," Chris said, his voice breaking. "I miss you every single day. I miss your laugh, your smile, the way you made me feel alive. I went to that bar tonight because I couldn't stand not being with you anymore."
Y/n felt a surge of emotions, a mix of relief, anger, and lingering love. She threw her arms around him, holding on as if letting go would mean losing him forever.
They stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, their tears mingling as they clung to the hope of a second chance. The Black Dog had witnessed their beginning, their end, and now, perhaps, their new beginning.
As they sat on the couch, Chris explained, "I thought that breaking up was the right thing to do. I thought I was doing it for both of us, but all I did was make us miserable."
Y/n nodded, her tears subsiding. "I've been lost without you, Chris. Every day has been a struggle."
He took her hand, looking into her eyes with sincerity. "I want to fix this, y/n. I know it won't be easy, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes. You mean everything to me."
Y/n felt a flicker of hope ignite within her. "I want to try too, Chris. I still love you."
They spent the rest of the night talking, sharing their fears and hopes, slowly rebuilding the trust that had been shattered. As the first light of dawn crept through the curtains, they knew they had a long road ahead, but they were willing to walk it together. The Black Dog, once a symbol of their heartbreak, had become a beacon of their reconciliation.
In the weeks that followed, Chris and y/n worked hard to rebuild their relationship. They talked openly about their feelings, attended counseling sessions, and made a conscious effort to support each other. There were setbacks and moments of doubt, but their love proved resilient.
One evening, as they sat together on their balcony, watching the sunset, Chris turned to y/n and said, "I've been thinking about the future. I don't want to just be with you—I want to build a life with you."
Y/n smiled, her heart swelling with happiness. "Let’s start with a cat." She giggled
With renewed commitment and a deeper understanding of each other, Chris and Y/n moved forward, ready to face whatever challenges came their way. Their love, tested by time and adversity, had emerged stronger, a testament to the power of second chances.
Summary - y/n wasn’t the type to settle down, until she met Felix that is. So when her parents meet him they’re in love her sister however is sceptical
Warnings - implied smut
“Mate I can’t get that girl out of my head.” Felix said taking a sip of his beer while he sat across from Farleigh waiting for the rest of there friends to appear
“Which one? The one you took home?” Farleigh asked lighting a cigarette before handing the box to Felix who sighed while taking a cig for himself and lighting it up
“No no the one friends with Indi.” Felix said taking a drag while Farleigh laughed
“Oh y/n, yeah she’s a sight for sore eyes if I do say so myself.” Farleigh began before laughing “shame she’s so self righteous. Indi says she’s the most opinionated person she knows.”
Almost like it was on cue the girl came walking in with indi and the rest of there friends following behind. Her eyes almost instantly locked with Felix’s and he swore he could have passed out in the spot while she’s claim the butterflies she felt were purely coincidental.
“Hi guys, you remember y/n from last night she’s finally decided to sack off the books not that she needs them the clever cloggs.” Indi said making her friend chuckle as she rolled her eye’s playfully
“Hi y/n.” Felix said with a warm smile while Farleigh took it upon himself to offer her his seat next to Felix “Y/n, you take a seat me and Indi will go get drinks.”
“It’s Felix’s right?” Y/n asked pretending as if she hadn’t memorised this name the second he told her that previous night
“Yeah it’s Felix, how are you? How’s the head?” He asked hinting as to how hard she was going yesterday evening. Y/n laughed as she got comfortable in her seat
“The head is fine however the smell of vodka might make me vomit so I beg of indi not to bring them over.” Y/n said Felix’s eyes had not left her he’d barely even acknowledged the rest of his friends as of yet.
“I’ve never seen someone drink that many vodka sodas.” Felix joked while y/n sarcastically gasped showing fake hurt
“What are you trying to say, Felix?” She joked while the same smile played on his lips
“Oh nothing at all, y/n.” Felix said and with a playful grin, offered her a sip of his beer. Y/n hesitated, Felix gently held the glass to her lips, titling it carefully as she took a mouthful. However, as the bitter taste registered, her expression shifted from curiosity to a grimace. Felix chuckled, realizing her distaste, and quickly pulled the glass away.
“Not a beer girl?” He hummed and she shook her head “hmmm I thought as much.” Y/n faked her offence once again before indi and Farleigh came waltzing back over
“Vodka soda, your favourite.” Indi said handing her the glass as y/n groaned while the two turned to the rest of the group
“Don’t worry darling, I’ll hold your hair back when you start vomming.” Felix joked his arm falling on the back of her chair casually, in reality his heart was racing at a million mile at the anticipation of her pushing it off.
“You’re on thin ice, Felix.” She joked
The rest of the night was spent laughing and joking with the group every now and then the pair breaking off for the own conversations
“No no it’s not romantic in the slightest.” She argued the group had somehow gotten on to the topic of Romeo and Juliet which y/n always had a very opposing idea to the majority. Felix had no care of the topic he just wanted to hear her talk
“How is it not?” Indi asked her friend
“It’s a mockery of young love They both had a severe lack of self identity because of there limits of freedom their family’s put on them Juliet views Romeo as her only freedom because she’s getting forced to marry Paris she sees herself choosing romeo as being free. That being said Juliet was never Romeos first choice he was just depressed that Rosaline didn’t love him back. Juliet was a rebound not a true love.” Y/n explained while Felix started at her In complete awe
“God you’re incredible.” He whispered to himself but she heard and he knew she did from the way her cheeks turned crimson. She quickly excused herself to the bathroom with indi following close behind
“What did I say? Incredibly opinionated.” Farleigh said to his cousin who simply shook his head
“She’s something else.” Felix whispered
Meanwhile In that bathroom, indi sat on the sink while y/n was in the bathroom stall “you know I’ve never seen him like this, or you like this even.” Indi said just before y/n came out of the stall
“What do you mean?” Y/n asked as she began to wash her hands
“Felix is never interested in what anyone has to say but he can’t seem to stop looking at you listening to every word you say and you you’ve never blushed at someone calling you incredible before especially a boy, what happened to my old I don’t need a man y/n?” Indi explained and y/n shrugged while she dried her hands
“You’re thinking too much into this indi, he’s just a sweet guy I’m still same old me.” She said as they left the bathroom.
“It’s getting pretty late we’re thinking off heading off.” One of the other girls said before everyone agreed that it was time to head home.
“Y/n, could I walk you home?” Felix asked she nodded grabbing her things while the rest of the group sorted themselves out they pair didn’t bother to say there goodbyes just leaving the pub and walking back towards campus.
They talked about nothing and everything all at once as they walked almost too close to one another neither one wanting to take things too far. When they got to her door she stood looking up at him after unlocking the door. If this was any other girl they’d of already invited him in but y/n wasn’t like that
“So when can I see you again?” Felix asked and y/n smiled looking at her feet before looking back up at him
“Whenever you’d like.” She said in almost a whisper
“I don’t know if indi has invited you but we’re heading out for drinks tomorrow you should join us.” He suggested and she nodded the pair were dangerously close to one another both still too nervous to make a move.
“I’d love to.”
“I’ll pick you up at 7?” Felix more told than asked and she just nodded before leaning up on her toes
“Goodnight Felix.” She whispered planting a soft kiss on his cheek before disappearing Inside her room.
From that day on the pair were inseparable it didn’t take long for Felix to start calling her his girlfriend much to everyone’s surprise. Wherever she was, he was and vice versa. The pair were joint at the hip.
“There’s my girl.” He said holding his arms open as y/n and Farleigh walked into the library books in hand. Y/n rushed over to him planting a kiss on his lips as he pulled her onto his lap.
“Hi Fi.” She said kissing him once more mumbling how she missed him.
“Hey baby girl.” Her stomach flipped at the nickname, something about that way it rolled off his tounge made her feel like she was the only person in the world that mattered to him. If you asked him, she was.
“So I was thinking…” y/n began her fingers dancing up his arm as he pulled her close
“What we’re you thinking pretty?” He asked his hand dangerously high on her thigh
“All of class I just couldn’t stop thinking about you, your hands, your mouth…” she continued and it didn’t take much more for him to be helping her off his lap
“We’re gonna go.” Was all he said patting y/n’s arse as he grabbed her hand dragging her to her dorm room as quickly as he could.
Flexi had practically moved into her dorm room at this point and tonight was like no other the pair laying in her bed facing each other while his hand rested on her cheek.
“I don’t know I guess everything that happened with Daniel made it hard for me to trust people until you came along.” She said as he listened to every word she said just as he always did
“What happened with Daniel?” Felix asked there has never been anything off limits in there relationship but she’d never spoken about her ex until now.
“He made me do things I didn’t want to do and wasn’t ready for even if I said I didn’t want to. He told me that if I loved him I’d do whatever he asked of me.” She told him and Felix didn’t need to be told what she meant he knew from the look in her eyes
“I’m so sorry that happened to you baby girl.” He said leaning in and kissing her softly she smiled into the kiss, oh how she adored that pet name.
“It’s okay, I have you now.”
“That’s right baby, and I’ll never let anyone hurt you again.” He said as she kissed him again mumbling against his lips
“You’re the sweetest.”
“I’m serious baby, if anyone hurts you, I’ll be going to prison for life.” He said in the most serious tone he could and she knew he meant it. Y/n couldn’t help but smile at his words laughing slightly before adding
“I’ll send you love letters while you’re in there.” Felix connected there lips once again moving to hovering above her one hand holding him up the other toying with her waistband
“Yeah? With Polaroids of you looking all pretty for me?” He asked and she nodded her breathe catching in her throat has his hand slipped under her shorts
“I’ll even where that dress you like so much.”
“God you’re just perfect.”
Y/n groaned half asleep at the knocking on her door “Indi go away.” She mumbled but when the door still swung open revealing her parents and sister she knew she was done for
“Hi darling -Oh!” Her mum said noticing Felix beside her daughter y/n shook Felix awake pulling the duvet over them
“What baby.” He mumbled and she just continued to shake him
“What are you guys doing here?” She asked panicking slightly
“We just thought we’d come for the day and take you to lunch we know how busy your schedule is.” Her sister said not even caring that there was a boy wrapped around her. By now Felix had sat up but was at a lots for words
“Mum, dad, Amelia… this is Felix my boyfriend.” Y/n said nervously
“It’s ah… nice to meet you.” Felix said the air was thick
“We’ll we’re thinking of going for lunch in an hour or so why don’t the two of you get ready and meet us at that little cafe, you know the one we went to last time at 2?” Her mum said trying to bypass the awkwardness of walking in on her daughter in bed with a man she’d never seen before
“Yeah sounds good we’ll see you there.” Y/n said practically shooing them out while her sister lingered back for a few seconds
“It reeks of sex in here.” Amelia added before following her parents out
“God that is not how I thought this morning was going to go!” Felix joked as she groaned burying her face in his chest
“That was so embarrassing.” Y/n mumbled while Felix just laughed dragging her up along with himself in order for them to get ready.
“Are you sure I look okay?” She asked as they stood outside the cafe Felix nodded leaning down to kiss her gently
“You look beautiful baby girl, love it when you wear my clothes.” He said referring to his yellow button up she’d thrown over her dress it practically was the same length as the dress but he still loved it regardless.
“We should head in.” She said grabbing his hand as she opened the door and they headed in. When they got to her table Felix pulled her chair out for her which had her mothers heart swelling with joy
“Hi lovely and this must be the wonderful Felix.” Laurel, her mum said with that warm smile all mothers seem to have.
“It’s nice to meet you, properly.” Felix joked referring to earlier that morning, Felixs took y/n’s hand that rested in the table giving it a small squeeze to help ease her nerves.
“Y/n told us she was seeing someone but I didn’t know it was serious.” Laurel added taking a sip of her coffee that has just arrived. Y/n admired the way nothing had changed her mum would always be the same woman who could barely sit down in a restaurant without having a coffee minutes later
“It kinda just happened mum.” Y/n said her eyes flickering from Felix to her parents
“Well Im glad we get to meet the boy that’s changed our darling girl stance on love.” Her dad, David, said trying to keep his cold front on but he was the biggest softy at heart
“Oh if anything she’s changed mine, she’s really special your daughter.” Felix said looking over at y/n was was looking up at him with nothing but love in her eyes.
“Are you all ready to order?” The waitress asked as she came over to the table
“Yes thank you I’ll have the chicken ceases salad and a Latte please.” Y/n said before everyone else made their orders before her parents started with the usually questions about her academics along with questioning Felix about his.
“Oh Christ.” Y/n mumbled a few minutes later while her parents and sister discussed if it was a red or orange dress there cousin wore to someone’s wedding
“What’s wrong Darling?” Felix asked concerned looking over at her as she chewed on the inside of her cheek
“I forgot to ask for no tomatos.” She said and Felix couldn’t help but smile as she pouted slightly
“Oh! Don’t worry I’ve got you.” Felix flags down the waitress that took down there order previously
“I don’t want to be a pain.” She whispered
“I’m sure they won’t mind.” Felix squeezed her hand softly as the waitress approached the table, Felix gave the girl a warm smile; “I’m awfully sorry but my girlfriend here was being her usual thinking of a million and one things at a time and forgot to ask is there any chance we could get no dressing on that salad.”
“It’s really no problem if not, it’s my fault honestly.” Y/n interjected not wanting to be a pain
“That’s not a problem at all I’ll go tell the kitchen now.” The waitress said with a smile before rushing off towards the kitchen
“See pretty, told you they wouldn’t mind.” Felix said pressing a kiss to y/n’s temple as she smiled
“What would I do without you hey?” She half joked leaning her head on his shoulder for a few seconds
“Perish, I believe.” Everyone but her sister laughed at his joke while Amelia shoot y/n a strange look, one that she couldn’t quit read. Felix pressed a kiss to the back of her hand before politely excusing himself to the bathroom.
“Oh he’s just lovely, y/n.” Laurel said just as he was out of earshot
“I’m glad you like him.” Y/n smiled, she’d never been this nervous to introduce someone to her family but Felix was charming as ever she didn’t need to worry at all
“It’s nice to see someone treating my girl that way she deserves.” Her dad added
“I’m so happy for you, I know it’s been difficult after Daniel but oh Felix is just perfect for you.” Laurel said reaching over to sqeeze her daughters hand
“It really means a lot that you think that, I was really nervous for you to meet him especially after this morning.” Y/n admitted taking a sip of her water
“Oh don’t be silly, that’s nonsense we should have called first.”
“Do you like him melia?” Y/n asked looking at her sister who had been awfully quiet Amelia shrugged
“He seems alright.” Y/n frowned slightly disappointed her sister wasn’t more enthusiastic about her relationship
“Just alright?” Y/n asked and once again her sister shrugged
“I don’t know him so I can’t give an option.”
The rest of the lunch went swimmingly her parents telling Felix how much they adored him and how perfect he was for their daughter. Y/n getting all shy when Felix and her dad make a joke about him making sure to give them a call when he decides to ask for her hand in which he responded oh don’t worry I plan on it
Y/n had convinced her sister to stay with her and Felix for the evening insisting she gets a taste of Oxford for when she starts In Autumn. They had decided to get the group together and head to the local pub they always went to.
Y/n sensing the need for a breath of fresh air, leads her sister into the Pubs smoking area, a sanctuary of sorts in the midst of all the madness. The cold breeze nips at their faces as they find a secluded corner. Surrounded by the soft hum of distant traffic, Amelia breaks the silence.
“Y/n, do you really like Felix I mean come on this is nothing like you.” She asks watching as her sister takes a drag of her cigarette looking at Amelia confused
“What do you mean?” Y/n asked watching the way Amelia sighed as she sat on the wall letting y/n join her
“All of it you know, him calling you Darling, acting as if you’re codependent what happened to feminist iconic y/f/n.” Amelia asked and y/n let out a soft chuckle knowing exactly what Amelia was getting at
“First of all, i am a feminist obviously and you know as well as I do that I'm fine without a man but But don’t know I think I would his protection.” Y/n half joked but Amelia was dead serious about the topic
“But you’re not some damsel in distress though y/n.”
“That not the point though Amelia, I like that he wants to protect me I like that he wants to Wrap his arm around me, And tell me that he’ll keep me safe and before you say it I know I can protect myself But when he does it for me, it's hot as hell.” Y/n explained smiling as she thought about her boyfriend and how he’d just do anything for her without her even having to ask that of him.
“I just don’t want him to dim your light because yes he seems wonderful and I’m sure he’s lovely but you are everything. he is just a boy.” Amelia said. She had always admired her sister more than she cared to admit and it would kill her to see her lose the glimmer in her eyes over some boy.
“You know me better than I know myself that would never happen and he knows that.” Y/n put her cigarette out just as Felix came wondering outside his face lighting up when his eyes fell on the pair
“There you two are I’ve been searching all over.” He said as y/n stood up from her spot letting Felix wrap his arm around her waist and press a kiss to her temple as she melted into the embrace
“Hi darling.” She said looking up at him with nothing but adoration behind her eyes
“How’s my sweet girl, what we chatting about?” He asked looking too her sister and back to y/n
“I’m good and we were just talking about Amelia coming to Oxford next year.” Y/n shot her sister a wink as Amelia then stoop up
“Oh you’d love it here plus you’d fit right in everyone loves your sister they’re bound to love you.” Felix told Amelia who smiled looking at her sister
“It’s impossible not to love Her.”
“Oh don’t I know it, your sister here is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met she has this way of making you feel like you’re the most important person in the room without ever making herself smaller she’s incredible, darling you’re incredible.” He rambled gushing about his girlfriend who couldn’t help but blush
“You’re just the sweetest aren’t you.” She said leaning up to plant a kiss on his cheek
“I’ll give it to you y/n, he’s far better than all the others.” Amelia said making Felix smile

When y/n awoke without Felix next to her it wasn’t out of the ordinary. Felix typically got up before her to go in hai morning
“Morning Darling.” Elspeth said as y/n approached at the table adorned In Felix’s jumper and her usual bed shorts
“Good morning.” She said with a smile while Duncan brought out her usual of scrambled eggs while she made her way to the breakfast bar grabbing her usual multiple spoons of fruit and few slices of toast.
“Felix and Oliver have headed out of the day so I thought you might like to accompany me and Venetia into town to get costumes for the party tomorrow.” Elspeth said taking a sip of her coffee her eyes not leaving y/n as she walked back to the table
“I’d love to.” Y/n said taking a sip of her orange juice “it’s been far too long since the three of us did anything without Felix.” She added while Venetia laughed
“It would be nice to see you without my brother attached to your hip for once.” Y/n blushed slightly, everyone adored how inseparable the couple were especially Elspeth, she loved seeing how smitten her son was, the way he doted on his girlfriend she just adorned how in love he was.
“Don’t listen to her you two are just darling together.” Elspeth said making y/n smile as she finished up her breakfast before rushing off to get ready for the day.
After hours of walking around the streets of London the three girls got back to saltburn. Y/n walked into Felix room to see him sat on the bed as she carried in multiple bags
“Oh Fi I got us the best costumes for tomorrow you’re going to love it honestly.” She began before she realised something was right
“Darling, what’s wrong?” Y/n put the bags down walking over to him as he looked up at her with tears in his eyes “oh my pretty boy, whatever’s the matter.” Felix took a deep breath as he pulled y/n into his lap
“Ollie lied… about everything.” Felix whispered as her hands came to his face wiping his tears away “I mean everything baby, the stuff with his parents… his dad is alive.” The last four words felt like a bullet In her chest.
“Oh.” Was all she said and Felix knew how hurt she was just from that. Y/n had bonded with Ollie over the loss after she lost her dad a few months prior. She didn’t want to believe that someone could be so cruel.
“I’m so sorry pretty girl.” Felix said as tears rolled down her cheeks
“Why are you sorry? You didn’t do anything wrong.” She asked her bottom lip quivering it was taking everything in her not to breakdown sobbing
“I brought him into our lives… I should have known.” Y/n shook her head before kissing him softly
“It’s not your fault.. how were you to know” She mumbled into the kiss before pulling away. She wiped the few stray tears that feel onto his cheeks away before standing back up and clearing her throat.
“Now back to those costumes.”
—
“God baby, you look so fucking hot.” Felix said as y/n came out of the bathroom in her costume. The same gold wings in his back adorned her. The bra, skirt and matching wings combo leaving very little to the imagination. the pair dressed as a Greek god and Goddess which Felix would argue she is regardless of the costume.
“You’re the sweetest.” Y/n leaned up to kiss Felix who’s hands instantly began to roam her body “Fi as much as I would love to stay in your room all night you mother will kiss us if we don’t show after all the effort she’s put into this.”
“Don’t really feel like celebrating.” Felix said his hands on her waist as she wrapped her arms around his neck
“I know baby, I’ll make you a deal well go down there and show our faces for a while, have a few drinks and then I’ll finally let you show me round that maze yeah?” She suggested with an innocent smile on her face but the suggestion was far from innocent
“Get moving then pretty girl.” He said wasting no more time making sure to slap her arse as they walked out of his bedroom and down to where the party had already began
“Wow don’t you look hot.” Venetia said as y/n and Felix walked over to her hand in hand the music was already thumping as Elspeth walked over handing the pair a glass of champagne each making sure to tell them how cute there matching costumes are.
“Our dear cousin is out back with something to make this party a little more fun for us.” Venetia said watching the way Felix eyes lit up as he pressed a kiss to his girlfriend’s temple before hurrying off.
The pair had managed to avoid Ollie so far that evening while drinking their way through bottle after bottle of whatever they could get their hands on. Felix had hardly taken his hands off her the whole evening when she suggest a late night stroll, although he knew what she was really suggesting.
The couple made their way outside into the cool summers air, the alcohol in their veins doing more than enough to keep them warm.
“You know the way right baby?” Y/n asked as they neared the entrance of the entirely pitch black maze while Felix had stopped to plant sloppy kisses all over her neck mumbling for her not to worry as she ran her hands through his hair.
Felix took the lead their laughter echoing against the labyrinthine walls, stumbled forward, hand in hand. The scent of blooming flowers lingered in the air as they weaved through the twists and turns, their steps becoming a delightful dance of tipsy synchronicity. Every few steps, he paused, their laughter bubbling over into kisses that tasted of desperation mixed with booze.
“My feet hurt.” Y/n mumbled into the kiss as she kicked off her shoes making her even smaller than her boyfriend who always towered over her.
“Not much longer pretty.” Felix said interlocking there hands once again as they continued into the darkness. The maze, a playground for their intoxicated affection, led them to its heart, where, surrounded by the fragrant maze walls, they shared a final, lingering kiss.
“Wow s’lot bigger than I imagined.” Y/n joked looking up at the statue in the center that towered over the pair of them
“The only thing you should be sayings big is me.” He joked as she rolled her eyes in the moonlight cocking her head to the side as she pulled him closer by the buckle of his belt
“Pretty heard to say that when I’ve got my mouth full.” She teased as she dropped to her knees staring up at him while she fumbled with his belt
“God pretty girl you’re killing me.” And just as he was about to have his way with her a loud snap came from a few yard away
“What was that.” She stopped in place much to his dismay
“S’nothibg baby.” Felix’s hands made there way into her hair as she looked up at him pouting slightly but ultimately brushing it off as she continued undoing his belt and pulling his jeans and underwear down just enough to pull him out of his underwear
Y/n wrapped both of her hands around the bottle of his length her eyes never leaving his as she kitten licked the tip. Felix let out a shaky breath making him tremble in his spot gripping her hair tighter. Her tongue swirled around his tip before she took him into her mouth her head bobbing up and done and she took more for him each time.
“Fuck just like that.” Felix groaned as her throat tightened around him as she gagged slightly briefly coming up for air before wrapping her mouth around him again she moaned around him as he let our a rather loud moan
“Such a good girl.” He groaned which only encouraged her she kept up her exact pace feeling him tense in her throat.
“Fuck I’m gonna cum.” He said mere seconds before he finished in her mouth with a groan watching as she swallowed him and licked up any mess. Flashing an innocent smile just to top it off.
“God what are you doing to me y/n.” Felix waisted no time tucking himself back into his boxers as he scooped her up placing her on the base of the statue wasting no time attacking there lips as he stood between her thighs his lips trailed down to her neck she let out a soft wine as he found her sweet spot
“Up.” He mumbled into her neck telling her lift her ass up so he could pull her underwear down shoving them into his back pocket while he continued sucking marks on her neck.
He left a trail of open mouthed kisses down her chest to right were she needed him the most before pressing a kissed against her clothed heat “please.” she moaned he smirked looking up at her once more as if he was asking permission
“Fi.” She wined once more before he blew hot air over her swollen clit before diving in. his tongue traced her folds before he lapped at her clit. Y/n’s back arched, electricity bolting through her nerves. Her hands flew to tug at his hair as he lapped at her clit feverishly so Desperate to taste her. He caught her off guard slipping a digit into her, groaned into her when your legs locked around his head, securing him in place. Not that he needed it. He’d stay here forever if she’d let him.
“Please Fi .” She moaned his fingers pumped in and out of her while his tongue made work on her clit. her thighs tremble and eyes roll back into her head. One hand grip the Stone she was sat on her knuckles white, while the other tugged at his locks. The pressure in her abdomen built but so does something else, something deeper at the same time. Felix took note pulling away
“you taste just Devine pretty thing, but not so fast I’m not finished with you yet.” He said as she whimpered at the loss of contact.
She watched as he pulled himself out of his boxers leaning down it kiss her again before he lined himself up with her entrance before he sank into her both of them gasping at the feeling.
“fuck, you feel so good,” he moaned. She was appreciative of his slow thrusts her constant wines were evident of that.
Y/n’s legs wrapping around his waist pulling him closer as his hips rocked back and forth
“Faster.” She groaned in his ear as she clenched around him. His free hand moving to wrap around her throat squeezing slightly as his hips moved faster.
Y/n opened her eyes for a few seconds spotting someone in the distance. She let out a gasp pushing Felix off her as she attempted to cover herself
“Ollie what the fuck!” She said as she realised who had been watching them. Felix fumbled to cover himself up before protectively standing in front of y/n.
“What the fuck is wrong with you Ollie.” He said while y/n grabbed into his arm
“We need to talk.” Ollie slurred as he made his was over to the couple. Y/n climbed down off the statue staying hid behind her boyfriend
“You’re a fucking liar Ollie.” Felix said as Ollie got closer and closer
“How could you Ollie, after I confided in you.” Y/n said snatching the bottle of champagne out of his hand chugging most of what was left
“I know I’m so sorry y/n… I really am.” He said but she just shook her head and walked away from the pair cradling the bottle as she wobbled while she listened to Felix and Ollie argue
“You need to leave Ollie.” Felix said his eyes flickering to y/n was was now slightly hunched over
“You’re still my friend? We’ll all still be friends right?” Felix didn’t give him an answer before he rushed over to y/n which Ollie took as his que to leave
“Felix.” She said as she started to go dizzy. Y/n reached out for him while he grabbed onto her
“I don’t feel good.” She whispered before her legs gave way. Alarmed, Felix scooped her up in his arms, concern etching his face.
“Stay with me, baby.” Y/n mumbled something drowsy, her eyes struggling to stay open. Felix, with a sense of urgency, began navigating the maze's twists and turns running as fast as he could carry her
“No baby keep your eyes open.” He said as he held her head up with one hand. As he neared the house he spotted Elspeth seeing a group of her friends off by there cars
“Mum!” He yelled out catching her attention, noticing the distress, she rushed over, her face turning from joyous to concerned.
“I don’t know what happened, no baby keep your eyes open for me.” Felix said once again noticing the way she was struggling to stay conscious “y/n, look at me.” He said as Elspeth rushed them towards the car calling out of Duncan.
Felix sat y/n in the back seat sliding in next to her while his mother told him she’d get the rest of the family before telling Duncan to drive to the hospital as fast as he possibly could while she climbed into the passenger seat.”
“M’tired.” Y/n mumbled incoherently as she fell limp into Felix said
“I know baby, I know but you’ve gotta Stay awake for me.” Felix’s heart was in his throat he felt like he couldn’t breathe.
“Felix, what happen? Did she take something?” Elspeth asked Felix had never shook his head so quickly
“No mum, she would never. she was fine a few minutes ago.” He said the panic in his voice evident he head tears in his eyes as y/n kept mumbling nonsense to him.
“Love you Fi” He heard her say before she fell unconscious
“Drive fucking faster!” He yelled hitting the back of the seat as he tried to shake her awake but it wasn’t working
“Calm down Felix we’re almost there.” Elspeth said in reality she was also just as panicked. She loved y/n like her own she couldn’t bare the thought of something happening to her.
“I can’t fucking calm down!” He yelled and as soon as they turned into the hospital Felix wasted no time rushing her inside begging for help. Multiple doctors came rushing over taking him from her arms discussing things amongst themselves.
Felix stood frozen in the middle of the room, the weight of fear anchoring him to the spot. The harsh light overhead accentuated the pallor of his face as doctors fired questions about what happened with his collapsed girlfriend. His voice caught in his throat, and his limbs felt like lead, rendering him incapable of articulating the events that led to this moment. The fear consumed him, the uncertainty of y/n’s well-being tightening its grip. Just when the anxiety threatened to suffocate him, the hospital door opens and Elspeth entered, a comforting presence amidst the clinical sterility. Her eyes met Felix's, conveying a silent reassurance that he wasn't alone in this ordeal. In that shared gaze, a glimmer of strength returned to Felix, grounding him in the support of his mother amid the overwhelming uncertainties of the hospital room.
Elspeth took over the questioning answering every question she possibly could as a nurse took Felix into the waiting room where he sank into one of the chairs terrified for y/n’s life. A few minutes later Venetia, his dad and Farleigh came rushing into the room. No one said a word.
Venetia took a seat next to her brother taking his hand in hers trying to offer him some sort of comfort in the horrific moment. The reality of the situation had completely sobered him up the adrenaline of the alcohol wearing off.
“Felix, darling have some water.” Elspeth said handing Felix a plastic cup that she had filled with the water sat off to the side of them. His hands shook as he took a sip of the water finally speaking up for the first time since he’d let the doctors take y/n from his arm.
“I won’t be able to live if something happens to her.” It was almost a whisper but everyone heard it
“She’s going to be okay.” Farleigh not only told Felix but also himself and everyone in the room for that matter all of them having the same sinking feeling.
“But what if it’s not.”
In the hush of the hospital waiting room, Felix ensnared in a web of anxiety, perched on the edge of a hard plastic chair. His knees are caught in a restless rhythm, an involuntary dance fueled by the uncertainty of y/n’s condition. The minutes stretch like elastic as he nervously glances at the clock, each tick amplifying the echo of his worries.
Unable to contain the nervous energy, Felix succumbs to the urge to pace back and forth across the linoleum floor. His steps are uneven, a physical manifestation of the emotional turbulence swirling within. The harsh fluorescent lights cast shadows that play on his strained expression, the weight of concern etched across his face.
Meanwhile, His family huddles nearby, attempting to offer solace in whispered words and gentle touches. Their eyes mirror his apprehension, but they muster comforting smiles and attempts at casual conversation, striving to create a shield against the suffocating atmosphere of the waiting room.
The air is thick with anticipation, each passing second an agonizing reminder of the unknown. Felix, caught between the pull of hope and the gravity of fear, finds solace neither in the uncomfortable chair nor the sterile surroundings. All that matters is the impending news about y/n’s well-being, an answer that lingers just out of reach, teasing the frayed edges of his nerves. What felt like an eternity later a doctor came into the room everyone’s attention on them
“I’m Doctor Robinson I’m y/n’s doctor Today.” The woman started but before she could get another word out Felix croaked
“Is she okay?”
“Y/n is doing better than we could have hoped for her case, you did the right thing getting her here when you did. Her toxicology came back and it looks like she ingested a lethal amount of benzodiazepines which we believe after conversation with Elspeth to be as a result of spiking in something she will have drank at the party this evening.” The doctor explained everyone felt a weight lifted off there shoulders as they said she was doing better
“Can I see her?” Felix asked
“She’s not awake yet, however you are more than welcome to sit at her bedside until she does wake up.” Felix shoot up out of his seat almost instantly the others silently agreeing to let him go alone as he followed the doctor to her room.
Felix heart broke as soon as he walked into the room seeing y/n laying there with multiple IVs stuck in her arm. He chocked back his tears as he made his way to sit next to her taking his hand in hers.
At what felt like only moments later as if she was awoke by his presence she was finally conscious again. Felix kiss the back of her hand as he thanked god for keeping her safe
“Hey pretty.” He whispered softly as a few tears rolled down his cheeks she smiled softly at him squeezing his hand
“Hi.” She croaked out her eyes half open. Her entire body ached as she reached out to wipe his tears away “Don’t cry Fi, I’m okay.”
“You scared me so much baby.” He said as more tears rolled down his cheeks
“god if you had - but I didn’t and I’m okay.” She said knowing where his train of thought was going. She shuffled herself to one side of the bed making room for Felix next to her as she patted the spot which he waisted no time climbing into
“Did they tell you what happen?” She asked as she got comfortable on his chest as Felix petted her head. Felix let out a sigh not sure how to approach the topic.
“The doctors said you had a lot of benzodiazepines in your system.” Felix started and he felt her tense up
“What- I don’t do that kinda thing… I’d never.” She said as tears rolled down her cheeks
“I know baby I know, mum knows that too everyone knows you’re not like that.” He whispered y/n had always made it gleaming obvious she didn’t like the idea of every taking drugs while she never judged those who did she couldn’t bare the thought of losing herself to drugs the way her father did.
“Then how?” She asked knowing exactly how but she needed him to say it
“The doctors think something you drank was spiked.” Felix said and her heart sank. Saltburn was supposed to be a space space where she didn’t have to worry about stuff like that. A place where nothing bad could possible happen.
“You don’t think…” she started and Felix knew exactly what she was hinting at. Ollie. The only thing she had drank that she hadn’t opened the bottle or poured herself was the champagne she snatched from his hands.
“I… I Really fucking hope not.” Felix whispered just as Elspeth and everyone knocked at the door wanting to check in y/n themselves
“Oh darling, I’m so glad You’re okay. You had us all worried sick.” Elspeth said rushing over to y/n’s bedside who gave her a weak smile
“Is there anything we can do or get you?” James said standing next to his wife placing a comforting hand on her shoulder
“I would really just like to go home.” Y/n said and just as Venetia was about yo say she’d go speak to the doctor Felix spoke up
“No, you can’t go home yet.” He began looking down at her “you need to stay here and get better.”
“Fels, I’m okay I just need to rest.” y/n said just as her doctor walked into the room
“Ah y/n, glad to see you’re awake.” She began as she picked up her chart from the end of the bed “I’m sure Felix here told you, we found a lethal amount of benzodiazepines in your system which is what caused you to lose consciousness. If it wasn’t for your lovely family getting you here when they did we’d be looking at a very different outcome.” Y/n squeezed Felix’s hand softly nodding to what the doctor was telling her.
“For now I suggest you go home and rest up take it easy for a few day, which I’m sure everyone in this room will see too that you do and make sure you’re drinking plenty of fluids.” Y/n looked up at Felix while the doctor went to collect the discharge papers
“See baby, I told you I’m okay.” She said as he leaned down to kiss her softly
“I’m so glad you’re okay pretty.”
“Well Im lucky I have you, my knight in shining armour.”
Summary : After Abruptly ending things a few months ago with y/n Felix sees her for the first time at a party.
As the rhythmic pulse of the music filled the room, Felix’s attention abruptly shifted when y/n walked into the party. Time seemed to slow, and the vibrant chatter around him muted into a distant hum. In that moment, everything faded into the background as if the universe had conspired to spotlight her entrance. The air felt thinner, and each step she took echoed like a heartbeat resonating in his chest. Her presence commanded the room, casting a spell that hushed the clamor of the party. For a fleeting moment, the world ceased to exist beyond the boundaries of their shared gaze, and the gravitational pull of nostalgia lingered in the space between them, leaving Felix breathless and captivated by the memory of a connection that time had failed to erase.
She was in that pretty little dress he loved so much. However the arm of the guy she’d walked in with wrapped around the material tainted the image Felix has of it in his head. He wanted to tare the guy limb from limb for being anywhere near his girl. But she’s not his girl anymore.
And that was his fault.
It didn’t take long for Felix to completely abandon the conversation he was in making his way over to y/n who was just as stunned to see him.
“Hey stranger.” Felix said pretending he wasn’t having heart palpitations from the proximity. He watched as the way her eyes welled up for a few seconds at the sight of him before she blinked the tears back making a point of wrapping herself in the boy beside hers arms.
“Hey Felix, this is Danny.”, She said leaning her head onto the boys shoulder “Danny this is Felix.” She said with a tight lipped smile.
“Nice to meet you.” Danny offered his hand to Felix but Felix just looked him up and down and turned his attention back to y/n.
“Could i steal you for a second?” He asked she hesitated for a second before shaking her head.
“No, we’ve just got here need to make the rounds, I’ll see you around though.” She said before grabbing Danny’s hand and dragging him away leaving Felix stood in the same hurt and shock he left her in all those nights ago.
Felix spent the rest of the night sat sulking while the girl he was currently messing around with sat on his lap trying to keep his attention but he couldn’t take his eyes off Y/n and Danny. God what was she going with that guy, she couldn’t love him. Not how she loved Felix he couldn’t believe for a second that she could share the love they had with anyone else.
It wasn’t until she drunkenly stumbled out to the smoking area that she saw his chance to get her alone. Felix pushed the girl off his lap much to her protest before downing what was left of his drink and making his way outside.
He saw her stood in the corner struggling to light her cigarette, the habit that she’d picked up from him staining her still. Y/n fumbled with her lighter, frustration etched on her face as she shook the lighter before returning to try and light her cigarette. Felix let out a sigh before walking over to her flicking his own lighter without saying a word.
She knew it was him without having to look up, she could tell by the signet ring he wore everyday, the one she got him almost four years ago. Y/n reluctantly let him light her cigarette slurring a thank you.
“Can we talk?” He asked as she leant the wall behind them taking a drag of her cigarette.
“About what?” She said In almost a whisper, she knew when she spotted him walking towards her earlier that this would happen. That he’d somehow corner her and beg to talk about what happened. About them.
“You know exactly what.” He said she was refusing to look at him knowing if she did she’d start crying on the spot.
“I don’t want to talk about that.” she said to him staring at the floor. They both let a few moments of silence go by both silently praying the other would talk first.
“You look really pretty tonight.” Felix said and she finally looked up at him scoffing at his words.
“Oh wow you notice for once.” She rolled her eyes as she took another drag of her cigarette.
“Don’t be like that.”
“I’m not being like anything.” She now had tears welling in her eyes for that second time that evening.
“Y/n.” He said softly but she shook her head not wanting to let how gentle he always was with her affect her anymore than it already had.
“Don’t y/n me.” She said as tears rolled down her cheeks, she hated the way he made her feel. She hated that she still loved him.
“Farleigh told me you asked about me.” Felix said as she flicked her cigarette out and threw it away from them
“So what.” She whispered he hated the look in her eyes. The hurt he knew he’d caused.
“You could have asked me yourself.” He said and she shook her head in disbelief. He ended things with her out of the blue and the thought she’d still be his friend.
“You decided that wasn’t an option when you ended things.”
“Y/n.”
“No stop it, I won’t do this.” She shook her head once again her arms wrapping around herself as she moved away from him. She wasn’t sure why she didn’t walk away from him but this was Felix she could never walk away from him. She’d never be the one to walk away.
“Can we please just talk about this?” He was begging at this point. He needed a reason to keep talking to her to keep her near knowing if he let her leave right now he’d never see her again if she could help it.
“Can you just leave me alone, seeing you hurts Felix, it physically hurts.” She said as more and more tears rolled down her eyes the wind making her sway slightly.
“No,” he shook his head his hand coming to her cheek to wipe her tears away, but she batted him away “I’m not going anywhere.”
“You already did, you already left me remember.” She croaked her voice harsh from the alcohol mixed the the tears.
“I never meant for- why Felix why did you do it?” She cut him off her emotions getting the better of her as he looked at her his beautiful brown eyes glossy now as he fought back his own tears.
“I don’t know.” He whispered
“Oh wow you don’t know, real mature.” She was upset, angry and confused all at the same time. Y/n didn’t understand why he couldn’t just be honest with her.
“I’m sorry okay, I never meant for things to end the way they did.”
“I thought we loved each other.” His chest physically ached at the sadness in her voice he hated himself for it.
“We did, god I still love you.”
“Don’t say that.” She was practically sobbing at this point close to hyperventilating all the emotions she felt the day he left coming back up as well as all the others she’s buried since that day never allowing herself to grieve the loss of the relationship.
“But it’s true, I love you and I don’t think I’ll ever stop.” Felix told her watching the way her bottom lip quivered as she sniffled her cheeks stained with her mascara
“Then why did you throw it all away?” He almost didn’t hear her the thumping of the music from inside almost swallowed her voice but he always heard her. In the loudest of rooms he always heard her.
“Because I was scared okay! I was scared that if I let myself fall anymore In love with you that you’d get sick of me and you’d leave and that would have killed me.” He finally admitted and her response only made his heart break harder
“You leaving killed me.”
“I’m sorry, god I’m so sorry.” He chocked on his own tears “Please.” His hands are on either side of her face “please let me fix this, I can’t keep living without you.”
“I don’t want you to hurt me again.”
“I promise ill Never hurt you again, I need you back in my life pretty girl.” He begged wiping her tears away
“I don’t know if I trust you anymore Fi.” She whispered just as the door to the party opened snapping them out of the moment
“Y/n, there you are… oh.” Danny said as he stumbled over to them y/n took a step back from Felix wiping her own face as Felix let out a sigh “what’s going on here?” Danny asked
“This hasn’t anything to do with you.” Felix barked at him the liquor in his veins taking its effect on his tolerance of others
“I wasn’t asking you.” Danny snapped back at him “I was asking MY girl.” He emphasised the My knowing it would get under Felix’s skin
“She’s not your girl.” It took everything in Felix not to swing for Danny. The idea of anyone else calling y/n their girl made him sick.
“She’s not yours either.” Danny began moving closer to the pair
“Cut it out both of you.” Y/n said shaking her head “I can’t do this right now.” She attempted to walk away but Felix caught her wrist and just like always she was putty in his hands
“Y/n!” Danny snapped at her making her flinch slightly which only served to piss Felix off more “Are you really doing this?” He asked her
“I’m sorry.” Y/n whispered looking over at Danny who just shook his head walking away before shouting, “You two deserve each other.”
Y/n didn’t say anything before she wrapped herself around Felix her head resting on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her petting her hair softly. The pair stayed like that for what felt like an eternity before she finally broke the silence.
Summery - after a night of drinking bottle after bottle of wine Felix makes a confession which spirals his and y/n’s life into a whirlwind of romance only to be momentarily put on hold due to his jealousy.
Warnings - Drinking, jealous!Felix, Felix being a bit of a dick, secret romance
There was a soft humm of laughter from the other room while y/n walked into the dimly lit kitchen in search for the other wine bottles. She opened the fridge grabbing a bottle of Red and a bottle of white before she walked back into the living room where everyone was sat reminiscing on old summers stories. She placed the bottles down before sitting back down next to her friend, Farleigh.
“Y/n… do you remember that guy that put the love note your dorm letter box?” Indi said laughed as Felix groaned while y/n just nodded. Felix grabbed the bottle of red and topped up her glass before Turing to face his friend Indi.
“Can we not talk about this for the 100th time?” Felix asked
“Oh but why it was so adorable the way he fumbled over his words and laughed at everything y/n said.” Indi added
“Y/n doesn’t need someone who laughs at everything she says or can’t form a coherent sentence. Hell she’s smarter than all of us.”
y/n couldn’t help but blush slightly. Yes it was wrong and juvenile of her to he crushing on her friend who protects her no matter what cost.
“That’s real sweet of you, Fi.” Oh how he adored that nickname she gave him
“Anything for you.” He said looking at her for what could have been slightly too long
“We should really head off.” India said sharing a look with Felix y/n couldn’t quit read.
“We’ll see you guy tomorrow?” Felix said his arm wrapping around y/n’s waist. The pair had always been close and the physical touch of their relationship had never bothered either of them.
“Definitely we be here around 2.” Farleigh Said before the three of them made there way out of Felix’s flat
“Are you sure you don’t mind me staying?” y/n asked as she helped Him clear away a few things. Felix smiled
“you’re always welcome to stay here you know that.” Felix said pouring the last of the wine down the drain as y/n leaned against the counter
“What was that look Indi gave you about earlier?” y/n more asked him, he immediately stopped what he was doing and turned to her
“What do you mean?” He asked confused
“Fi, don’t do that you know exactly what I’m talking about.” She said as he moved closer to her
“Fine fine, she has been telling me how I should tell you that it wasn’t Daniel who wrote you that letter, it was me.” Felix said
“Fi that’s not funny.” She said looking up at him “come on tell me what it was.”
“Im being serious y/n, I had the biggest crush on you when we first came to Oxford.”
“oh come on that’s not true.” She said she didn’t realise how close they now were neither did he
“I still do.” he whispered
“Felix.”
“I always thought you were the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.” He whispered just inches away from her
“Stop it.”
“Y/n.”
“Felix.”
“That’s not funny.” Instead of saying another word Felix just leans in kissing her softly which she immediately reciprocates a surge of electricity coursed through them, igniting a passionate exchange that transcended words. Time seemed to halt as Felix pulled her impossibly close wanting nothing more than her close to him.
“Believe me now?”
—
The pair had been seeing each other for a while now they decided to keep it a secret knowing the complications of their loved ones finding out. They wanted it to be there’s and there’s only.
Felix, with a playful smile masking the excitement in his eyes, told Farleigh he was going for a run. This wasn’t anything new for him every so often Felix took himself off on a run to clear his head if Farleigh wasn’t so caught up in himself he’d of probably noticed the escalations in the amount of times his friend seemed to be disappearing. This worked in their favour though.
Felix jogged down familiar paths, exchanging pleasantries with others on campus as he made his way to the back road that was far less traveled by to the one place he craved to be.
"Hey there," Felix greeted, panting slightly from his faux jog. Y/n grinned, as he walked into her flat and straight over to her "Thought I could use some company for my workout ." They chuckled, finding solace in their secret rendezvous.
Things were going well for a while the two sharing nothing but pure unadulterated admiration of each other Beneath the facade of friendship, stolen glances and secret smiles told a tale of something deeper. Their perfect secret relationship thrived in the subtleties – a brush of hands, lingering gazes, and whispered confessions hidden amidst the mundane. The world remained oblivious to the symphony of emotions playing out beneath the surface, allowing Felix and y/n to savor the intimacy of their unspoken connection for themselves. Y/n adorned nothing more than the late nights in his arms talking about anything they could think of but what she hated most was waking up to an empty bed.
It had been almost three months of sneaking around before anything of great significance had its effect on them. All until the party at Farleighs new flings flat.
As they mingled at the party, Felix couldn't shake the knot of jealousy tightening in his chest. Y/n , unaware of Felix internal struggle, engaged in casual conversation with a charming boy named Jake. Felix gritted his teeth, feigning a smile while attempting to mask the possessiveness bubbling within. In a strained attempt at nonchalance when y/n returned to his side later that night, Felix remarked, "Jake seems pretty interested in you tonight."
Y/n, oblivious to the brewing tension, responded with a casual shrug, "Oh, he's just friendly."
Unable to contain his frustration any longer, Felix snapped, "Friendly? Or maybe you're enjoying the attention a bit too much, y/n." The words hung heavy in the air, and y/n's eyes widened with surprise and hurt.
"What's your problem?" Y/n shot back, her own defenses rising. Felix fuelled by the fear of losing y/n to the allure of someone else, retorted,
"My problem is that everyone thinks you're fair game. Maybe it's time they know the truth – that we're more than just friends."
Y/n now fully grasping the depth of Felix's jealousy, countered, "Are you threatening to expose us? You know we can't do that, Felix. Fuck me you were the one who wanted it to be a secret so bad." The argument escalated, echoing the clash between the passion they shared in secret and the turmoil of emotions exposed in the harsh light of reality.
“Oh fuck me y/n, maybe I wouldn’t have to say anything If you weren’t such an attention whore!”
“Excuse me!” She said through gritted teeth trying not to cause a scene
“Don’t play dumb, god forbid my attention is on something other than you for a moment you start acting like a brat.” Felix said and y/n couldn’t believe what she was hearing, how dare he talk to her this way. She wasn’t one of his little flings that only lived to please him. She had more respect for herself and wouldn’t bat an eyelid at leaving if he didn’t treat her the way she wanted.
“I don’t know where you get off speaking to me like that but you better cut that shit out.” She said tempers growing for the both of them
“God I could have anyone I wanted but I choose to be with you and do nothing if you -“ Felix began at this point it was soon to turn nasty between then
“No one asked you to do nothing.” She snapped
“Fuck off.” He mumbled under his breath pinching the bridge of his nose as she turned to look at him arms folded across her chest while they stood on the balcony
“I will fuck off, I told you do what you want Felix.” she was staring daggers at him while he let out a frustrated sigh there friends all a few feet away watching the whole ordeal go down not a single of of them having a clue what was happening.
“Like you wouldn’t go off at me if I even looked at anyone else!” He said usually if someone as tall as Felix was getting pissed off at you while towering over you it would be enough to intimate anyone, but not y/n. She wasn’t one to back down from an argument.
“Well I didn’t ask you not to, do what you fucking want. Talk to a few girls shag them for all I care I’ll just fucking laugh at ya.” She spat clearly pissed off at not only him but the thought of him touching anyone else made her skin crawl.
“Maybe I will!”
“You know what Felix, go fuck yourself.” Y/n almost yelled as she stormed out of the flat knowing he wouldn’t dare follow her.
The argument with Felix lingered in her mind like a relentless echo, leaving her overwhelmed with a torrent of conflicting emotions. As she stormed out into the night, the crisp air did little to cool the heat of frustration burning within her. The music and laughter from the party slowly faded, replaced by an unsettling silence that mirrored the void growing in her chest, each step marked by the weight of unspoken words and unresolved tension. Tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over, but she fought to maintain composure, not wanting to reveal her vulnerability to the indifferent darkness. The dimly lit streets witnessed the internal storm playing out on y/n’s face, the glow of streetlights casting shadows that mirrored the turmoil within. With each step, she found herself grappling with the realisation that the argument had not only fractured her connection with Felix but also exposed the fragility of the carefully constructed façade they had maintained.
Alone in the dark, y/n finally allowed herself to cry, the frustration and heartache escaping in silent sobs that mingled with the night's hushed symphony. The journey home became a painful pilgrimage through the shadows of her own unresolved emotions, the echoes of the argument haunting her every step.
Days passed in a heavy silence between Felix and y/n after their heated argument. Felix grappling with a mixture of regret and longing, found the absence of y/n more challenging than expected. Each passing moment without her presence heightened the ache in his heart. Felix had never felt this way before. No one had every evoked the same emotions from him that y/n does and the lack of communication became increasingly unbearable. Felix scrolled through old messages, the weight of the unsent apologies pressing down. Pride clashed with the undeniable truth – Felix missed y/n more than words could express. Swallowing the pride, He finally sent a hesitant message, "Can we talk?" The pause that followed felt like an eternity.
Y/n - Come over?
Felix shot up from his bed wasting no time rushing over to her flat rehearsing exactly what he wanted to say to her , everything from how sorry he was for the way he treat her and that he should have never spoke to her that way because he let his idiotic jealousy take the wheel to how stupid he feels for making her keep what they have a secret and how he wants nothing more than to shout it from the rough tops. However upon letting himself in with the key she’d given him not too long ago that all faded when He walked into the flat to find her curled up on the couch in his jumper and her beloved blanket she’s had for as long as he’s known her.
“Y/n.” He whispered as she stirred from her sleep while he sat down on the edge of the couch a few feet away from her
“Hi.” She said as she sat up rubbing her eyes slightly bringing her knees to her chest as she looked over at him
“I’m so sorry baby.” He began but before he could go on his tangent of how sorry he was and how much he adores her she whispered almost inaudibly
“Do you not trust me?” Felix felt his heart sink he hated that he’d upset her
“I do trust you baby, i was just being jealous I should have never taken it out on you.” He said cautiously moving closer to her not wanting to make her uncomfortable “I hate the idea of someone else looking at you the way I do, the idea of you making someone feel the same way you make me feel.”
“I’d never do that intentionally.” She said looking at him with her big do eyes that made him melt the same why they did when he first saw her
“I know… I’m so sorry for speaking to you like that and I’m so sorry for making you keep us a secret.” He told her as she shuffled closer to him letting him pull her into his lap
“What?” She asked confused
“You’re my girl, and I want no I need everyone to know that.” He told her and she couldn’t help but smile. Felix had never outright claimed anyone so y/n couldn’t help but feel special that she was the first
“But Fi, I don’t want you to feel like you have too… baby come on it’s about time I tell my parents and everyone else you’re my girlfriend.” Felix watched the way her eyes lit up as he said that word
“Girlfriend?” she whispered while Felix just nodded leaning in to kiss her softly “I like that.” She mumbled into the kiss
“Missed you.” He whispered as he pulled away
“I missed you too, I’ve hardly slept not having you here next to me.” Felix let out a sigh of relief knowing that she missed him just as much as he missed her.
“Then let’s get you to bed, yeah?” Felix scooped her up carrying her into her bedroom just as he had done so many nights before. In one swift motion he laid her down before crawling beside her and letting her get comfortable as she found her place on his chest.
“Y/n.” He whispered his hand running through her hair. It took her a few seconds to hum in response but he didn’t mind “I love you.” He said the words lingering in the soft glow of the bedside lamp. Y/n absorbed the sweet declaration like a lullaby. The words wrapped around her like a comforting embrace, and a tender smile played on her lips as sleep gently claimed her. In that moment, the room held the echo of those three precious words, affirming what they both already knew before they both drifted into the night.
