Bought and listening to 'Bop - Punks Not Dead'. Loving it!
Ripping Streetsounds' ACID TRAX LP tonight and this baby is on it: 'Touch Me' - Scrappy.
Today's listening: Hip Hop, Acid and Cut & Paste
Today I've been listening to more of my vinyl rips. Best of House Megamixes 2 and 3 (lots of 87/88 acid), Richie Rich 'Turn it up', The Mixmaster 'Grand Piano', Grandmaster Flash 'Style Peter Gunn theme)' and Beastie Boys 'Hey Ladies / Dis yourself in 89 / 33% God'.

I've been listening to 'The Black In Man' - Chuck D' this week.
It's like Chuck has been saving the best lyrics for this. The no prisoners vocal assault over the cool, grooving beats work well together.
The album fits in well with the latest PE material but also stands out on its own. It has that personal feel to it that a solo album should have.
Vimeo - When you search “fart”, it makes fart noises when you scroll up and down.

Pretty cool Victorian Star Wars outfits.
Today I read a well written blog post over at NPR Music called 'You've never heard Public Enemy's "It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back"' in which one of their young interns, Austin Cooper, listens to Public Enemy's classic album for the first time, and hated it. Here's why he hated it.
Tonight I have set up my Raspberry Pi with XBMC, S-Video and PAL mode. There were a couple of hurdles to get over but it's working fine now.
So the 1980s had introduced me to Hip-Hop - a new, exciting and fresh sound straight from the USA and I loved it. But there was a new buzz growing in the UK at the time and I'll admit that I hated it - at first. House had been growing for a couple of years and I'd first
Never assume you know why a decision was made unless you were in the room when it was made.
Jerry Weinberg described the 10 Commandments of Egoless Programming in his classic "The Psychology of Computer Programming". We copied the version on Jeff Atwood's blog.
Thank you, Breaking Bad.
So I made a commitment a while ago to watch Breaking Bad through to its conclusion. I'd been looking for something to entertain me the way Lost did all those years ago and BB was recommended to me.
I enjoyed it. Eventually. It literally took me until 3/4 way though season 3 before I got that 'I can't wait until the next episode' feeling. I felt there was too much emphasis on the relationship effects of Walt's activities but then it all changed.
The finale was great. Without giving too much away I think it was a fitting ending to the adventure. So Thank You, ABC, for Breaking Bad.
Diplo and friends exclusively in the mix - only on 1Xtra and Radio 1.
Cool mix of some real old school Hip Hop from Diplo.
I seem to have been born at a pretty good time for music. My parents arenât big music fans; my Mother used to be into Glam Rock and bits of Hendrix whilst my Father used to play Country music on Sunday mornings. How that mix started my musical journey from Glam Rock to Hip-Hop and beyond is anyones guess.
Its been like that for 6 minutes now...
