Just because you didn't sleep, tomorrow won't wait for you. The tomorrow you tried hard to escape from already came, and you are trying to hide among yesterday. By not leaving today, you already reached tomorrow. Even if you don't acknowledge that fact, tomorrow isn't going to wait for you. The fear that tomorrow would turn out to be just today keeps you from letting go of today.

So you find yourself in a hidden borderland, which is neither today anymore nor tomorrow yet. You stay there longer than you should while tomorrow turned to today in the darkness of night. But it's okay because in these hours you aren't expected to be you. You are free of all those shackles tied to you. So you stay longer in this borderland, not ready to leave a today that keeps on repeating and accept a tomorrow that always comes a bit earlier than you are ready.
