What are they saying when they say comorants?

Mostly they’re just stuttering or something. It comes up a lot because the Japanese word for “cormorant” is essentially just う (“u”), so when う appears on its own in the source text, Google Translate treats it as a real word.

e.g. when Shinji says “う…ごめん” what he’s really saying is something more like “Uh… Sorry”.
