So I have been getting into framing and mounting my own work in recent months. Big prints require a lot of work space for cutting and framing. So during the past few weeks I obsessively built these four tables. I borrowed a friend’s truck and bought 9 sheets of plywood ($!). First my son and I made a cool plywood table for his bedroom. Then for the studio, I began with a 5x6’ cutting table which has an awesome full size white Rhino self healing mat on top and storage for my safety rulers on the sides. Next I made a small one to house my newly acquired Coda laminator. Then, harnessing the ideas from of hours of YouTube and building the other three, I made this awesome 4x8 foot assembly table. When I’m not busy just staring at it, it’s incredibly useful. And the three together make mounting a breeze. I really have only built a few things in my life. I only have a circular saw, jigsaw, sander and drill. Second to my daughter’s loft bed, which I made about 3 years ago, this is my best work yet.
