lefebvre-emilia:
Emilia steps inside Évelyne’s home, stepping to the side to let her shut the door behind her. “I should have come sooner to say hello. Welcome you back to London.” Emerald hues glance around the place, noticing the lack of furniture. “I don’t mind standing. I spend a lot of time sitting.” She smiles at the woman. “I wanted to see if there was anything you needed help with. I’m on the sideline now. Trying to be useful in other ways.”

Admittedly, Évelyne was a little surprised at the gesture, but quickly gave Emilia a smile. “No, not at all. Thank you, for stopping by to say hello.” Quite honestly, the older woman didn’t know how her return would be received by others but would have accepted whatever she was dealt with, but a good-natured welcome did bring her some comfort that her concerns were for naught.
“I’m pretty good actually. The reason why my place is still like this is because I’ve been out a lot,” Évelyne kindly declined the blonde’s offer for help but took note of Emilia’s specific choice of words. I’m on the sideline now. Trying to be useful in other ways. No doubt with her being pregnant, on top of being Varden’s younger sister, Emilia was being kept away from more dangerous jobs. As she should be. Still, with what happened and how contentious London was becoming, Évelyne understood Emilia wanting to do more.
Every one of the French wanted to do more.
“I’ll be sure to ask you if I need anything," she reassured before pivoting, “You let me know if you need anything, too, okay? I know you still run your shelter, and now more than ever, those girls need a safe place to stay. That’s the best way you can be useful aside from taking care of yourself and your baby.” Évelyne gave the girl a small smile.
