toolbalanceâ:
What a thrill that had been! No concern for stealth, no need to hold back, just a sharp object and several rendable voidborn. Zoeâd even managed to lift him up to swing him around. Most of the time. Oh well, Rhaast would take what he could get.
Wait, what was that last part?
âYou know, I used to have a MORE useful form. I didnâtâŠalways put it to the use the Aspects wanted, though.â
Now how could he put this without telling the incredibly powerful 13-year old what heâd done and what had happened next? Her Aspect might not like that. Best to get backup first.
âWe should be getting back to Kayn, though. I hope nothingâs eaten him while he slept.â
Zoeâs odd eyes seemed to light up at the words âmore usefulâ. Maybe he could be an even bigger scythe, with loaded crossbows on the sides, and maybe he could fly! She found she quite liked that mental image a lot.
Then as he spoke of Kayn she giggled, finding the thought of him getting eaten somewhat silly. She shook her head, âThe spell wears off if heâs touched,â she explained, âHeâll be fiiiiiiine.â
Skipping through the air, scythe dragged along behind her, at long last they reached Kayn. Still sleeping and not eaten. Zoe moved Rhaast back into Kaynâs hand, breaking the spell in the process.Â
