Everest was born and raised on a commune in the pacific northwest, he was surrounded by people who all called themselves family and had a particular way of living. From a young age he learned how to live from the land, be self sufficient and also trust and respect nature.
Over the years the commune grew in size, always happy to accept new faces within their group and build new bonds. Being gay was never looked down upon to begin with and Everest’s relationship with Marley was encouraged and supported.
The commune had a belief system within the beauty of life and encouraged all same sex couples to become a family by choosing another member of the community to help the process of conception. When the time was right for Ev and Marl, they welcomed two beautiful children into the world, Silas and Willow.
Unfortunately, the commune went through many changes over the passing years and one of the main ones was the view of same sex relationships. Ev and Marl decided to leave before they were pushed, and headed to Colorado to start up a new life of their own.
They kept to what they knew best, living off the land, growing their own food and living a slow and easy lifestyle. They helped each other cultivate crops to sell at the market, and also weed for the local dealers until the laws changed and they could up their game to the local dispensaries.
Ev and Marl are two sides of the same coin. They both share the common goal of living as naturally as possible, as respectfully to the environment as they can. Marl is more distrusting whereas Ev doesn’t believe all of the conspiracy theories. He encouraged for the twins to go to public school and immerse themselves into the larger community around them.
Ev is very sociable and easily befriended, and he loves inviting people over for food even if Marl has a grumpy face at the other end of the table. He ensures to stop by to check on their kids every once in a while too, hoping the big bad world as Marl puts it hasn’t eaten them alive. He knows it hasn’t, having complete faith in Willow and Silas’ capability to navigate a world that’s quite different to the one Everest is used to.
