I remember being in fourth grade, standing in front of my full length mirror next to the window with the light flowing in from the second story of our house, turning sideways to see what I looked like in my tight green shirt I bought recently from Target. I had just done sit ups on the hardwood floor because I knew that I had to make my belly stick out less if I wanted to wear that shirt that day.
