I am devastated by Chita Rivera's passing, and am still in many ways in shock. She was still active as a performer until the day she died. She never stopped performing until the very end. I became an avid fan in 2015 and have been one every since.

One of the true gems of Chita Rivera's career are her two solo albums: Chita! recorded in 1962 and And Now I Sing! in 1963. These were combined later into one album. These albums both have tracks that were not featured in her cabaret acts or her impressive resume of shows.

This track from And Now I Sing! captures my thoughts pretty succinctly. As the lyrics say, "at some time we must say goodbye" as hard as that is.
