Lol what if we let people with whatever hair do whatever they want with it. I have curly hair and I prefer how it looks straight. I hate this kind of weird enforcement, it’s usually by people who don’t have the feature. I had a friend who used to always pretend it was innocent and bc she wanted me to “embrace my natural looks” but she was virtue signaling the entire time, making me feel bad about my own decisions as if it was all about vanity or that I was insecure. No, some people just prefer a different look than what they were born with. End.

Well, Society deems curly hair as “unkept” and “unprofessional”. There’s nothing wrong with telling someone to love their natural hair. As a afro- latina with coarser / curly hair, I was always made fun of by white people to straighten my hair because it’s a “nest”. They’d call me “nappy”, “bird hair”, “horse hair”, etc. I used to perm my hair so much to make it straight, it began to fall out. I stopped and learned how to take care of my curly hair and love my hair. I learned after that, to be okay with the hair I was born with and learn to nurture it which now, my hair is healthy and cute! I don’t see an issue with this post like you did, I think it’s great… I encourage everyone with curly hair to learn about their hair care and to love themselves a little bit more… 💕
