His words took a moment to register and Minako felt her face heat up as the blush crawled up her neck and washed over her cheeks so fast and so hard she almost felt light headed. Compliments weren’t something she was overly good at. She never really had been, at least not when they came from someone who meant as much to her as he did.

Teeth drew along her lower lip and all at once she felt like she was that young girl who had an undeniable crush on the upperclassman. That had been near six years ago by then, and those simple words brought her back.

A lot had changed since then. She had changed, and not all for the better. The girl was just as broken as they were. Being thrust back into this world that seemed to not really change since she left it.

But, what hadn’t changed was how she felt about him. Words like this she had been dying to hear back then, she never thought she would hear now. It was silly to think that way, as now she was actually dating him ( she had been with him back then, but there had been so much going on that it hardly felt that way ).

Both he and Akihiko tried so hard to get her to feel just how much they loved her and how much she meant to them. She was ever thankful for having them, and she may not say it much but she loved them both more than anything. She was broken, maybe from before and maybe because she had died but whatever it was, they were the ones who brought her out of it.

A smile beamed across her features and she reached out, her fingers curling into the front of his shirt so she could pull him closer, her arms soon snaking around him so her cheek could press against his chest. “I’m not.” She finally whispered out.

“I’m not beautiful, but thank you for thinking so…” that’s how she saw herself. She didn’t see what they did.
