Shit That Grinds My Gears
Entitlement Programs. What is that? Well, for one thing, it's not entitled to anyone, because almost everyone (except for the corporations, who actually receive from the government) pays huge income taxes. If one has been paying for them, it's not entitled, it's earned and deserved. Again, it's the rhetoric in the political system that grinds my fucking gears and makes citizens believe that their seemingly awesome lifestyle is all at the mercy of the government. NO! You're paying for everything! The government is an entitlement program, because you are giving them money. If social security and medicare is an entitlement program, then call the war an entitled war, call the corporate tax loops entitled tax laws, because those are things which are neither deserved nor desired by those who are funding it.
If you feel that you have no faith, you must understand that you are in the most dangerous position in the world, in which only man can find himself.

In the past, when the tyrannical state or empire encroached on one's liberty, one could always move to a place where horrors of legitimized hierarchical authority had not corrupted the land. Now that the globe has been corrupted, there is no where to go, and the people need to learn how to fight back - really fight back, before the idea of liberty disappears, because there is no room for it anymore in this globalized world where capital reigns over any notion of liberty.

For most, love has never been enough. Promises that wither away with time are the foundation of this concept - promises of fidelity, promises of respect, promises of honesty... promises. Love should free you, not hold you captive to words that were meant for a different space-time. But, then again, nothing scares people more than absolute freedom, absolute uncertainty, because people have don't have enough faith in themselves or others.
If Gaga was actually unique, original, and stood for something, then I would be on her tits like so many people; but, to me, she's just a packaged good that's supposed to appear as those things, without actually being them - so, in a way, you can say she represents America and it's consumer ways. Appearances without substance or depth.
I hate it when...
people look at me like I'm insane when I tell them I'm an anarchist, and then try to justify the presence of nation-state by the mere existence of it. Sometimes, they allude to Locke and Hobbes to maintain that without a nation-state, humankind would be condemned to living in 'state-of-nature' where anything goes, and there is no order.
MOTHERFUCKER! Do you see what's going on in Africa, Middle East, parts of Asia, and parts of South America? What the fuck do you call that? That's not 'state-of-nature' but it's the type of evil that only nation-states can bring - just because you're sitting in your tiny little home with your comforts, doesn't mean everyone is. Just because you are benefitting from the evils of nation-states, doesn't mean everyone is, so don't go around claiming nation-states are needed for survival because not having them would be disastrous when the spectrum of your experiences are confined to the northern and/or well off parts of the world. I can't claim to know what 'state-of-nature' is because I've never lived in it, but I do know what power does and hierarchical organization of power does, and I can't imagine 'state-of-nature' being worse than the state the world is in now.
Can you spot the difference?
Contemporary blueprint of structured religion came forth with Christianity, and it has since ruled the world by force. If that is one of the greatest examples of coincidental, correlated, or causal relationship between hierarchical organization and oppression is yet to be determined.
The Joker Is Not An Agent of Chaos
I really like the movie, Batman: The Dark Knight, but I couldn't help but find it a little annoying and/or misleading. I've never read the comics so I don't have the least bit of idea of how Joker is portrayed in the comics, I'm sure his character is 100x more refined in them, but the Joker in the movie is a little off. It's definitely not the acting, if anything, Heath Ledger made the joker more refined just by his acting, but there were some anomalies I couldn't help but notice.
Joker claims to be an agent of chaos, but his action choose to differ. His actions were calculated - he laid out different paths for himself at any point in time, so that he (almost) always had an outlet. He always had a choice of which fork to take on the road, because he built the fork himself beforehand! For example, when he was arrested and still managed to have Dent and Rachel taken hostage, and escape at the same time, that's all very meticulously calculated and not the least bit chaotic. Just because you have choices doesn't mean it's chaos - true chaos is no choice - true chaos is every choice out there is your choice, because the immense uncertainty at the end of the tunnel makes it impossible to narrow down to a few choices.
I'm not saying Joker never ever acted in an anarchic way, he did, but I never interpreted it as true chaos. For example, when he stood in front of Batman, when Batman came racing forward on his motorbike, some can argue that's chaotic; but, in my honest opinion, I don't think it is, because he KNEW Batman couldn't kill him, and that's a certainty that can't qualify his action as being fully chaotic.
The end sequence with the ferries held hostage is prime example of Joker doing the exact opposite of what he preached. He created a situation in which the end was put in bright light - both the ferries get blown up if one course of action isn't taken. If he was a true messenger of chaos he would've blurred the end. He could've said if one didn't press the button, he'll choose which one he'll blow up. That creates a REAL uncertainty, and that would've created an even greater panic on the ferries. He really did just want to see the world burn, and that's not chaos. Chaos is letting the world take its course, and seeing how it turns out. He didn't let the world take its course, he was a source of authority just like any government official. He had a vision of how the world would operate in chaos, and ironically, that's order, not chaos.
I don't want to be loved, I want to be understood. I don't need to be held dear to anyone; just understanding how I operate, and if I'm lucky, trusted and accepted (not approved), is what I ask for.
Thought of the day
I will never understand the evils of religion, because I have never been a victim of those evils. at least not the evils that can trace their roots back to the Abrahamic religion(s) (which is not to say Eastern religions don't have their fair share of evils in the world). I've never been a victim of people wholeheartedly questioning the power of my love, like the blacks were in the American past, and the homosexuals/transgendered/queers are now. My experiences with the religious evils have been minor and didn't take up the focus in my life. I have never experienced someone so vehemently opposed to something that makes up most of my being and way of life. because of a vague interpretation of a book that, itself, is of questionable origins.

Languages dying off around the globe
Only two people on Earth are known to speak the Ayapanec language, Manuel Segovia and Isidro Velasquez, old men of few words who are somewhat indifferent to each other’s company.
When Segovia and Velasquez pass away, their language also will go to the grave. It will mark the demise of a unique way of describing the lush landscape of southern Mexico and thinking about the world.
Ayapanec isn’t alone in its vulnerability. Some linguists say that languages are disappearing at the rate of two a month. Half of the world’s remaining 7,000 or so languages may be gone by the end of this century, pushed into disuse by English, Spanish and other dominating languages.
» via Anchorage Daily News
This is so sad, because I think my language is one of the 7,000 languages that is going to go extinct :( Half of my cousins don't speak it, and I hear that my native city in India doesn't even use that language as the official language anymore. I have never felt so much love and pride for my language and culture.
Shit That Grinds My Gears
Why is Julian Assange called the most dangerous man in the world? He hasn't done anything that has physically harmed anyone - all he's done is expose institutions for their actions that they shouldn't have been doing in the first place. I hate how the use of lingustic, albeit ironic, is still from the perspective of those in power. It's like going to Africa, and still calling the Africans 'minorities.'
If going for exaggeration is the goal, then why not call him the saviour or the most courageous man in the world. The only person(s) he's a danger to is those who have something to hide because of illegal/questionable activities, for the vast majority of the world, he poses no danger whatsoever. Fuck the media rhetoric, they can go suck his dangerous dick.
