All aboard~! [OPEN TO ALL!]
Once the train came to a complete stop, the doors slid open, allowing everyone to flow inside. Ladd and Lily took their seats. It took a while for everyone to settle and find a place to sit- there was a lot of people in this car alone! Finally, the whistle cried out again and the train departed, slowly gaining momentum until it reached its fast, yet steady speed.
Ladd took a bit of time to look around at all the unsuspecting people on the train. Some were sitting alone in silence, entertaining themselves with something to read or headphones blasting music. Others were happily in conversation with others, laughing and smiling… Without a care in the world. Without a clue as to what was about to happen at the whims of two assassins on a joyride.
He then looked at the seat across from him and saw the young Lily Baskerville bouncing in her seat with enjoyment.
Playtime.
“What do ya say we pay the good ol’ conductor a visit, Lily?” Ladd suggested with a smile. The idea seemed innocent enough, anyone who happened to be listening could have assumed that they were family, and the child wanted to see the conductor’s car to see how the train worked. The two of them rose from their seats, and began to pass through each car until they reached the very front…
A minute later, the passengers’ ears all rang with harsh feedback from the conductor’s intercom. The voice that greeted them sounded friendly enough at first, until they heard blood-curdling screams and the sound of bones breaking in the background, accompanied by a child’s wild laughter.
“Greetings, passengers!~” Ladd’s chipper, sing-song voice contrasted with the gruesome cacophony behind him.
“Unfortunately, the good conductor is a bit… tied up at the moment, but I am pleased to inform you that I, Ladd Russo and my little comrade Lily will now be your gracious hosts on this train ride!” He paused for dramatic effect, as well as to have the statement sink in to some of the horrified passengers as the bashing sounds continued relentlessly, and conductor’s screams turned to groans of agony.
“Needless to say, you folks won’t be makin’ it to your destinations today… Now, I don’t know how to operate a train, so this baby’s gonna keep runnin’ until it crashes!” He announced with glee. “That is, unless one of you brave souls can stop it…”
“I would say to remain calm but…. That won’t really do ya any good!” Ladd’s voice took on a deranged, yet cheery tone as he tried to hold back his laughter. One last smashing sound was heard before the groans and screams stopped. A chilling silence filled the air. Finally, Ladd couldn’t control his laughter any longer. He went into hysterics for a moment, and then the intercom whistled with feedback once more before turning off.
A moment later, a crashing sound was heard from inside the conductor’s car. The door was ripped from its hinges, and standing in-between the two cars was Ladd Russo, with the door in his metal arm and the conductor’s mutilated, limp corpse in the other. Lily Baskerville stood next to him, covered in blood and giggling with delight. With fresh blood peppered on his face and a feral grin on his lips, Ladd scanned the horrified expressions on some of the passengers’ faces. He then dropped the conductor’s body between the two cars, and listened as the weight of the train crushed his body under the wheels with a harsh, gruesome screech. The passengers could all feel a “bump” underneath their feet as the wheels passed over the corpse.
Ladd and Lily fully entered the adjacent car.
“Time to play, Lily” he addressed the miniature assassin with a smile, as they stood in wait for some poor fool to challenge them.
[ Of all the days to pick to take the train, she had to pick this one. Wincing at the loud noise, Laura stood from her seat, unamused by the sudden turn of events. She recognized the girlish laughter, from Lily Baskerville, and sighed. She had thought that the party they had planned would be enough, but obviously not.
Not that she was going to attempt to harm Lily, but her friend... was another matter. The girl had to learn that you couldn't just kill people in a public area as you wished, without being stopped. No, she didn't really want to spoil Lily's fun, but considering she was a potential victim... it was probably worth trying to convince her to calm down. ]
[ Listening to the announcement, she shook her head, almost amused by this. Did this man, this... Ladd Russo, truly think that he could simply do this? Clearly, he did, and it was not appreciated. Really, if he was going to commit mass-murder in this city, he at least needed more flair than using a train.
Really, there was no point to it. In this city, Assassins killed individuals for money, rather than slaughter mindlessly, and although she had the capacity for both, Laura had no interest in competition. She was the best and what she did, but what she did best wasn't very nice.
Hearing the laugh, she decided to make her way towards the front of the train, pushing through the horrified crowds. Entering the car at the other side, She stared at the white-suited man, leaning against the door to the next carriage. ]
What is the purpose of this? Only a fool attacks people for no purpose, maniac who I will assume to be Ladd Russo. Unfortunately, some of us have things we would want to do. I would stop this train, unless you truly want to... play with me...
[ What form of weaponry was this man likely to have? As if it mattered, in such an enclosed space. She had been given back her claws, which would make this easy. If any of the passengers happened to get in the way... that was their problem. ]
So. Do you?
