Fire raged across the battlefield, sparked by cannon fire and blaster explosions. Energon fuel tanks blazed on from the sudden detonation; a simple transport of goods gone to Pit in a matter of seconds.
He saw Optimus temporarily engaged with a triple changer twice his size; lieutenants busied with their own battles against highly trained seekers. They were the only ones with a chance to survive.
Soldiers like himself, the expendable ones, were nothing but cannon fodder.
A mech he said good morning to earlier disappeared from his side, but his legs were still rooted. The circuitry sparked and toppled over.
Time slowed, and he looked ahead of him. His spark quickened and his cycles stopped temporarily.
Cannon smoking from the previously fired shot, arm raised. Hellish form, tall and imposing, optics sparking red.
Where had he seen this before?
Before the cannon fires again, another explosion, behind the Tyrant, toppling him over.
Energon everywhere. All over the floor, his servos, his eyes. Was this his friend or enemy’s?
Furiously he wiped at them, looking up and seeing that the Decepticon leader was far closer than he had anticipated, and he was without weapon, small fire arm discarded in the initial explosion.
Where had he seen this before?
Hot Rod flickered his optics off temporarily; a scene in front of him. Rich golds and yellows coated his vision, grand and beautiful. There was a silver wall in front of him; reflective. It was him; but it wasn’t him. That mech looked too powerful and divine, nothing like his smaller, inadequate form. But it was a mirror, and that was his reflection.
He, the being, turned, and in front of him; Godly form, tall and imposing, optics sparking red.
But there was no hate. No anger, there was something warmer, softer.
His optics flickered online, and he saw the blaster in his face, the purple hue so bright that he could barely see past it. His spark thrummed, and he felt strangely drawn in despite it may just be the last thing he ever saw.
