CHINESE GARDEN OF FRIENDSHIP

PART 2:

There were people sitting around reading a book, listening to music and just relaxing, making the most of their time.

I managed to join in on a tour at the gardens which made me appreciate the garden more and helped me gain more of an insight into the history of the garden.

Loved this place, would recommend going and it is only a small fare to enter.

CHINESE GARDEN OF FRIENDSHIP

PART 1:

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is located in Chinatown and modelled after the popular private gardens of of the Ming Dynasty. The day I visited the gardens I was amazed by the Chinese heritage and culture I experienced.

The Garden symbolises the welcoming of Australian-Chinese communities into New South Wales and Australian society. It represents the successful collaboration of Cantonese and Sydney designers, technicians and tradesmen and the transfer of traditional skills and techniques.

AUBURN BOTANIC GARDENS

PART 2:

Unfortunately I was not allowed to take photos with my camera which I found out once I had arrived so my phone was a back up for this day. I still managed to get some pretty good shots and really enjoyed myself. The day was quiet with little to no people at the time I went which made it even more relaxing. I never would have imagined a place like this to be so close to where I live.

AUBURN BOTANIC GARDENS

PART 1:

The Auburn Botanic Gardens are located in Auburn NSW and covers an area of 9.7 hectares. There are so many attractions in this one location including the lakes, waterfall, bridges and flowers.

From the research I did before I attended the gardens, I saw that Cherry blossoms were a symbol for the site, yet due to the season there were none to be seen. This did not make the experience any less enjoyable but they would have been nice to see.

NAN TIEN TEMPLE

PART 2:

The grounds are peaceful and have various beautifully detailed temples as you walk around and explore. The architecture, art and culture of the temple is a visual delight inside and out. The people and Buddhists walking around the temple are lovely and you can feel like calmness as soon as you enter.

The temple is free and you can book tours to get a more in depth spiritual and religious experience! Classes run every morning for Thai Chi and meditation for the public, allowing them to calm their minds and find themselves.

If I had done a little bit of research before I went to the temple, I believe I would have appreciated the place a little bit more; having that understanding would have made me book a tour to get more out of my experience and learn even more about the history of the temple.

NAN TIEN TEMPLE

PART 1:

Nan Tien Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere. It is located in Wollongong, overlooking Mount Keira and Mount Kembla and means ‘Paradise of the South’. Since the opening of the temple in October 1995, it has since become a popular venue for local and international tourists as it unites different cultures. Nan Tien Temple is one of the branch temples of Fo Guang Shan (located in Taiwan).

Objectives of Fo Guang Shan:

- To propagate Buddhist teachings through cultural activities

- To foster talent through education

- To benefit society through charitable programs

- To purify human hearts and minds through Buddhist practice
