casey + rosie.
“not what you came here to do? don’t act like you had plans for when you came to disney.” rosie words were stern, though the smile on her lips hinted at them being a joke. “if i remember correctly, you were all complaints before. maybe i scheduled some tea time into our busy day.” her hands moved to adjust the small backpack that was resting over her shoulders. of course she was prepared and had packed enough supplies for the day — for the both of them, of course. “first of all—” she began, moving to stand in front of him, eyes narrowing at him only slightly. “this—…” her hand motioned to her entire outfit before stopping to point at the ears. “is all just a ploy. i have to blend in with the kids an all that. the ears don’t take away from my maturity, thank you very much.” the corners of her lips then tugged up into a smile and her thumbs were sliding under the bands of the backpack. “second of all, normal car bombs are disgusting. nottinghams are made with cider and both look and taste less disgusting. france and japan for later. can’t miss out on the sake OR margaritas in mexico.” with that, she reached for his hand before pulling him toward the bar. “if you really wanna feel like you’re at home, we can get some fish and chips, too.” the last part of the sentence was said with a terrible accent tacked on to it and she turning toward him with a smile on her lips. as the entered the bar, she maneuvered them through the crowds of people before finding an empty spot near the bar. “you still set on the car bomb or are we trying something new?”
“ i did have plans for when i came to disney, ” casey said in a matter-of-fact tone, looking over at her as her feet landed on the ground, “ you were my plan. ” he paused, “ being dragged about by you, anyway. ” his gaze followed her movements as she marched over to plant herself in front of him, taking a tone of i’m-right-you’re-crazy that was familiar and never anything less than amusing. despite the way she motioned to her outfit, his eyes never left hers, a bit nervous that looking anywhere else would cause his thoughts to wander or his gaze to linger, and that couldn’t happen. “ why is it, exactly, that you feel the need to blend in with the kids ? ” his smile matched hers as, yet again, they bickered back and forth over any possible thing. “ yes, well, they’re not meant to taste good. they’re meant to give you a head start on getting pissed, ” her hand slipped into his, but he didn’t move at first. instead, he pulled her back to him and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, fingers still interlaced, as they began to walk into the bar. “ rosie, ” he said carefully, lowering his voice so only she could hear, “ you sure you can handle a nottingham here, sake in japan, and magaritas in mexico ? i’m perfectly fine with carrying you home for the hudredth time, but i’m certain i’d be to one taking the blame for you vomiting back at the villa — ... not that i’m opposed to getting drunk. just wanna —.. make sure, i suppose. ” his eyes took in the pub around them as they walked up to the bar, and any seriousness in his tone dropped as quickly as his arm did from around her shoulders as she imitated a british accent. as she smiled at him, he feigned offense, placing his hand over his heart, “ is that what i sound like to you ? what was that—... cockney ? australian ? what were you trying to do there ? ” laughter accompanied each question as he slid in next to her, shaking his head, “ despite your insulting accent just now, i’m going to take your advice. might as well see what this nottingham thing is all about. ”
