Bye, bye Michigan!
Today begins our travel south out of Michigan. So sorry to leave. It was a very good couple of months. Thanks to the Yoopers and the Trolls for their hospitality. We met a lot of great people along the way. We definitely got to see a lot of beautiful places and ate a lot of good food. Gotta love the Great Lakes, the lighthouses, the Walleye and the pasties.
BTW, for you southern folk: people who live in the Upper Penninsula are called Yoopers and the lower Michigan folks are called Trolls. We finally figured out the Troll thing - it’s because they live under (or south of) the Mackinaw Bridge. LOL
We are now headed to Texas to see Jessie, Harper, Gatlin & Gibby. We are really looking forward to that! It’s been too long since we have been together.
Bye, bye cool breezes…we will DEFINITELY miss you.
Thanks to all that followed us on our trip. We hope you enjoyed the photos and the views as much as we did. Good bless you all.
Till our next adventure…

Stopped in at an apple orchard/cidery in Elk Rapids and sampled some of their hard cider. Really good!
They have 350 acres of apples and make many different kinds of hard cider. My favorite is called Fresh Strawberry.
Just sitting outside, enjoying the sun, the apple trees and sipping hard cider.
Good times!

Narcan available in the local bar…WOW! The locals tell us it’s a state funded program. So sad that it’s needed but it saves lives I guess. Just amazing to see it in a public area like this.

Hi all. We are now in lower Michigan. Hanging out in Elk Rapids for a few days exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland, Traverse City and a few others along the coast of Lake Michigan.
This area is full of farms, wineries and orchards - a lot of cherries, apricots and grapes are grown in the area. It’s beautiful…

Leaving the UP today. Crossing the Mackinac Bridge. Sorry to leave. We LOVED it!
Looking forward to seeing more of Lake Michigan and the west coast of Michigan.

Well today was the first day of our trip back to lower Michigan. The fog coming off Lake Superior this morning was major! See below.
We are planning to take our time and enjoy the trip, sticking to the west coast of lower Michigan along Lake Michigan. We took the East coast up, made the Upper Peninsula loop, and now we’re going back the west.
I’m looking forward to seeing Lake Michigan and some of the coastal towns and lighthouses. Stand by for pictures!
