On Twitter, Peter Davis, the actor who played the doctor in the “Suffocation” music video, shared his experience while working on set. He points out that he and others on the crew were frightened by Ethan‘s “obsessive control over Alice”.
Ethan Kath of Crystal Castles Under Sex Crimes Investigation

The Toronto Police Service has confirmed with The Daily Beast that there is an active investigation against Ethan Kath (real name: Claudio Palmieri) of the band Crystal Castles.
Police Constable Allyson Douglas-Cook told the Daily Beast that there is currently an open Sex Crimes unit investigation into the musician. “At this point we are able to confirm that there is an investigation. However, because of the nature of the investigation, and for the privacy of the alleged victims, there isn’t anything else that we can say pertaining to it.”
When asked if she was able to confirm that the Police Service was looking into allegations made by multiple victims, Cook responded, “That I’m not able to confirm. All we can confirm at this point is that there is an active investigation.” However, a source with knowledge of the investigation told The Daily Beast that it involves complaints “from several women.”
The Daily Beast has been in contact with an accuser involved in the investigation, who said that Kath first reached out to her on social media when she was 15, and initiated a sexual relationship when she was 16. She is remaining anonymous for now so as not to impede the investigation, but says, “I want this guy’s insane horrible mistreatment of underage girls to be out in the open for everyone to know and to protect themselves.”
Ethan Kath’s Misleading Statements
Ethan Kath can’t keep track of his own lies.
In this interview with NME, Ethan stated the following about the night he met Edith Frances in November 2013:
“This was in LA,” continues Kath. “She’d been warned that I was gonna be there – like, ‘Someone else is staying here, don’t be scared if you see someone.’ We started talking about [Detroit hardcore band] Negative Approach, ’cause I’d just seen [them] and it was the best show of my life. She was like, ‘What?! They’re one of my favourite bands’. And then we agreed on the next band I brought up, which was [’90s shoegazing titans] Slowdive: again, another of her favourite bands. So because we were in the same spot and I was making beats and needed some demo vocals, I asked her if she wanted to sing on something. And she started singing and I was like, ‘Her voice is perfect.’ I was just blown away. It was just a complete fluke that this person that was in the room with me had this perfect voice for what I wanted to do.”
Alice Glass didn’t leave Crystal Castles until October 2014, meaning that he was indeed actively looking for someone to replace her like she said in her statement:
“But he often told me how replaceable I was. He’d even tell me that he was actively looking for someone to replace me.”
This contradicts some of the statements Ethan has made since Alice’s departure. In April 2015, he stated to Pitchfork:
“I was told she was taking a year off and that I should have the majority of the songs ready by her return. After her year off, she tweeted that she was leaving. There was no discussion about it.”
During Alice’s year off, Ethan had already recruited Edith into the band. Why is he so outraged that there was no discussion about it if Alice was never meant to return anyway?
Side note: Weirdly enough, Edith Frances was photographed in Alice’s trailer at Beach Goth in October 2014. She had already been recruited into the band for a year by that point. Why was she there?
After Alice named Ethan as her abuser in October 2017, he made the following disgustingly manipulative statement:
“When she suddenly left Crystal Castles to handle her mental health issues and substance abuse issues I fully supported her.”
Ethan can’t even get his story straight regarding Alice’s departure. First, he pretended to be unaware that Alice was leaving and he was blindsided by it. Then, he changed it into one where he was aware but he was supportive about it. Which one is it? Well, as he has made obvious, Ethan Kath has never been supportive of Alice. As soon as she left CC, he made a passive aggressive statement minimizing her contributions to the band:
“I wish my former vocalist the best of luck in her future endeavors. I think it can be empowering for her to be in charge of her own project. It should be rewarding for her considering she didn’t appear on Crystal Castles’ best known songs.”
Is this Ethan’s idea of support? The fact that he also refers to her as MY vocalist shows just how replaceable he considered her to be.
It’s also worth mentioning that during Alice’s year off, Ethan Kath attempted to sabotage the success of her DJ sets by messaging Crystal Castles fans and asking them not to blog about these sets. In his own words, “as long as there’s interest in her dj sets, they will continue and there will be no CC”. That post can be found on @exposingethankath.
Edith was already in CC when Ethan sent these messages to fans. Alice was never going to return. He just didn’t want her to have a career without him. His manipulation truly never ceases to amaze and horrify at the same time.
When Ethan talks about meeting Edith he says “She’d been warned that I was gonna be there” and then immediately corrects the statement to make it sound less creepy. Sounds like what behavioral analysts call “leakage,” as in the way manipulators slip up because they cant help but tell the truth about themselves sometimes.
It’s not the first time he’s made a similar statement.
“Things didn’t initially work out, however, and they didn’t make their now-infamous demos until eight months later. “One friend warned her, ‘Stay away from him, he’s a snake, he’s the guy from that GG Allin cover band.’ I didn’t give up,” says Kath.

Autumn, 22 Year Old Wife of Ethan Kath, Shares Disturbing Picture of Her Bleeding and Bruised Face

For someone who claims to be in an “uncompromised” position, she sure has to put in a lot of effort towards hiding the extremely creepy aspects of her relationship with Ethan Kath. Crystal Castles Fans Share Their Personal Experience of Ethan Kath (1) *Creepy*
A fan who was 16 at the time met Ethan Kath in 2016.
Ethan seemed to be very affectionate towards this fan and he contacted them personally through his cclorox snapchat account by finding the fan’s username from Alex Zelenka (one of the sound engineers who is also a creep).
Then, Ethan says something really creepy… He asks the fan, out of nowhere, if they can scream. Then Alex and Ethan attempt to get the fan to come with them to the tour bus. That’s just so sketchy… and the fan was very uncomfortable by this.
Someone messaged me about Alex Zelenka groping them as well, so I asked her if she’s the “friend” mentioned in these messages. She said she was not, meaning Alex Zelenka has groped young female CC fans in at least two instances. While we’re on the topic of Alex Zelenka, in 2012, he released an EP titled I Want To Fuck Alice Glass and even used a picture of her on the front cover and on his merch to make a profit OFF OF HER IMAGE. After she left the band, he accused her of being “difficult to work with” in a now deleted Facebook post. So, she was difficult only after she opened up about her abuse, but not difficult when you needed to sell albums? Typical misogynistic behavior: after using her and disrespecting her for his own gain, she’s insulted and discredited when she could no longer be of any use to him. Ethan Kath intentionally surrounds himself with people that are just as awful as him, likely so they can protect him when their disgusting behavior eventually blows up in their faces like it is now. Anyway, here’s Ethan Kath’s Snapchat account mentioned in the images above that he uses to message underage female fans:

Both men are disgusting, but Louis C.K used his platform to take responsibility for his actions and discuss uneven power dynamics within relationships, especially those where the abuser takes advantage of being "admired” to exert control. Ethan Kath had the same opportunity to come clean and admit guilt. Instead, he used his platform to belittle, discredit, gaslight and intimidate Alice Glass.

Ethan Kath Attemps to Hide his Obsession with Images of Battered Women/Young Girls
A few days ago, I made a post about Ethan Kath’s obsession with images of battered women and young girls. That post can be found HERE. In an attempt to hide his sick obsession, Ethan has since deleted those photos from the CC Facebook page, but this is an obsession he has had since his time in Kill Cheerleader. Here, he and his band are standing over the grave of a fictional teenage cheerleader with a gravestone engraving stating “SHE TOUCHED US ALL”. In 2006, Ethan was 28-29 (reminder: he was born in December 1977), meaning that not only should he have known that this is inappropriate conduct for an adult, but also that for more than 10 years and well into his 30′s, this man has glorified violence against women in order to make a profit. Then again, when has Ethan ever acted according to his age? He is now nearly 40 and still preying on vulnerable, underage girls.

In his most recent statement, Ethan declared: “False allegations take away voice from true victims and that’s what saddens me most about all of this”, but let this serve as proof that Ethan has NEVER CARED ABOUT VICTIMS OF ABUSE. HE HIMSELF HAS VICTIMIZED MULTIPLE YOUNG WOMEN. This alone casts a shadow of doubt on the rest of his statement. Lets not allow Ethan Kath to hide who he truly is. Inconsistencies in Ethan Kath's Court Document
Although Ethan Kath once referred to CC fan Ari as “psychotic” in his messages to Davie Fawn (here), he is now using her as a key witness in his lawsuit. Ironic how in his misogynistic statement to TMZ, he accuses Alice Glass of having mental health issues and therefore must be lying, but Ari, who in his own words is psychotic, is a totally reliable witness? Nevertheless, Ethan and Ari have clear holes in their statements that can be easily debunked.

It’s pathetic that he and his key witness can’t even keep track of how the events actually occurred. As I mentioned, the court document conveniently makes absolutely no mention of the harassment that Ari received from Ethan himself. In fact, their version of events has been intentionally fabricated in this manner to clear Ethan of any wrongdoing, even though he was the one to carefully manipulate how things unfolded. Clearly, neither one of these people can be trusted: both are willing to lie to the court, and both are willing to omit valuable information to the court in order to create a narrative that paints Ethan as a poor victim.
It is also worth mentioning that Ethan was dropped by his original lawyer Michael Weinsten, who released his first statement. His lawsuit was instead filed by the firm Bernard & Bernard, riddled with typos. Ethan’s case is obviously weak and his original lawyer must not have been willing to tarnish his own reputation by representing a lying pedophile with an incoherent story.
Good luck with that perjury charge, Ethan and Ari.
Crystal Castles Record Sales
In the recent statement by Ethan Kath, he said that Alice is just mad that “the band attained new success without her” but the numbers from Soundscan show otherwise. While Alice was in the band, they sold more than 280,000 records. Pathetically, Amnesty (I) sold less than 6,000.

Alice Glass Posts Evidence of Abuse by Ethan Kath
Alice Glass posted the following statement on October 30th, 2017:
She then followed with screenshots of an email exchange with her former manager, James Sandom, where they discuss a violent incident in which Ethan Kath throws her phone out of a car window, injuring her in the process:
Sandom: “He can’t do shit like this. He’ll end up in jail. I will confront him face to face about it tomorrow - I’ve had enough of this shit.”
Sandom: “It’s domestic abuse. And I fucking hate it.” “If he doesn’t answer the question tomorrow with any honesty, I’ll be the one calling the cops. This is a domestic abuse charge, he would end up in a cell - I’m not into it, and can’t let it go on.”
The fact that multiple people knew this was happening and did nothing at the time to stop it is frankly disgusting. Instead of protecting the victim, protecting the tour was prioritized. Even more disgusting is that Ethan is most likely involved in trying to silence people to cover up his tracks. What a nightmare for Alice. I sincerely hope this finally puts the victim blaming and accusations that she was lying to rest.

Ethan Kath Attempted to Sabotage Alice Glass’ Career Before She Left Crystal Castles Over Insecurity and Jealousy of Her Relationship with Jupiter Keyes
As is common knowledge among fans, Ethan Kath has created various fake accounts and personas to message fans for manipulative purposes. He manipulated fan/friend Davie Fawn via a Facebook account under the name “Dan Marshall”. Davie Fawn’s full story can be found HERE, but in summary, he was manipulated by Ethan into lying to a young woman named Ari, who at the time was a friend of Alice’s who was posting the truth about how disgusting Ethan truly was on her Tumblr magicspe11s. Infuriated by this, Ethan began sending her hateful anonymous messages, while forcing Davie Fawn to reach out to her and convince her that the messages were actually coming from Jupiter and Alice. She fell for this, and despite being informed of the reality of the situation years later, she is still one of Ethan’s closest friends and occasional photographer for Crystal Castles. Here she is talking to Davie Fawn about Ethan’s fake personas:
“andy/dan are the same people. its all ethan”
“Andy” is a moderator on Crystal Castles official website who ensures that nothing negative about Ethan Kath is being posted there or on Tumblr. Various Tumblr users have opened up about having received messages from “Andy” via the wearecrystalcastles Tumblr, asking them to delete negative content about Ethan. Here is an example:
In reality, “Andy” does not exist and it is Ethan Kath himself.
Recently, a former fan who used to run a fairly popular Tumblr dedicated to Crystal Castles shared her experience with “Dan Marshall”.
In these messages, he pretends to be a “concerned fan” wondering if she has heard anything weird going on with the band (similar to what Ethan asked Davie Fawn in their final messages).
He then pretends to ask “Andy” if she is able to be trusted with what he is about to tell her. Once “Andy” deems her trustworthy (”aww andy says “she’s the sweetest and coolest””), he goes on to tell her that “supporting the solo dj sets is supporting the end of cc”, in reference to Alice’s DJ sets. Here are the messages (notice the similarities in writing seen in Davie Fawn’s post and “Andy” above):
Notice the half truth and half lie here. Ethan and Alice definitely dated, but not only during the (II) era. This is Ethan’s way of hiding the reality of their relationship, which began when Alice was 15 and he was 25.
Ethan kath was playing DJ sets of his own during this time, but if Alice did the same it was because Jupiter was “pushing her to forget CC and become a DJ”. Hypocrisy at its finest. “meanwhile the only reason J knows A is because E remixed J’s band. thats truly fucked.” Ethan, your insecurity is showing.
“but we can send a message that we’re not supporting his dj plan for her. we do this by never reposting anything dj related. that gives her false hope that she should continue with the dj path. like magicspe11s flying around to catch all the dj sets. that gives her a false idea that cc fans are ok with her being a dj”.
This is Ethan’s way of not-so-subtly hinting that this person should stop posting content related to Alice’s DJ set’s so that they don’t get any promotion or attention and therefore fail.
Bonus:
When informed that magicspe11s (Ari) asked her about “Dan Marshall”, he immediately orders her to not respond. Ari was already aware that “Dan Marshall” was Ethan, and if she responded she would find out that “Dan Marshall” was no “concerned fan”, but Ethan Kath himself.
Another former fan who used to post Crystal Castles content on his Tumblr @wrathofwaldo was also messaged by Ethan using his “Dan Marshall” account with the exact same request.
Here are those messages:
Ethan was the one to begin spreading the narrative that Jupiter was tearing Crystal Castles apart over jealousy that Alice had finally moved on and was making more public appearances without him. He couldn’t bare to no longer have control over her.

But they can continue going to his DJ sets? Ethan logic: that of a true narcissist.
To convince Alice’s fans that they should stop promoting her DJ sets, Ethan fabricated the existence of a tweet that said she was telling her friends that she didn’t even like DJ sets, but the all powerful “Andy” was able to get some random sound guy to delete said tweet? Laughable!
“please don’t share this info but i think it would be helpful if you only blogged CC stuff (A+E) and ignored the solo stuff”
“Andy” strikes again! He deletes a thread that wasn’t even on Crystal Castles website, and even though “Dan” didn’t manage to get any screenshots, he manages to remember exactly what the supposed quote said. This is yet another fabrication by Ethan, created as a manipulation tactic to convince others that Jupiter was the one driving Alice away from CC and not his own abusive treatment of her for more than 10 years.

These messages show the extent of Ethan Kath’s manipulation and how far he is willing to go in order to hurt Alice. Publicly, he once stated: “I wish my former vocalist the best of luck in her future endeavors “, but behind fake accounts and personas, he was scheming to sabotage her solo career as a DJ before she even decided to leave Crystal Castles. After they broke up, he was still finding ways to indirectly affect her life negatively over his own jealousy and insecurity. His sociopathy truly has no limit.

Crystal Castles Fan Alleges Seeing Ethan Kath “Snapping” at Edith Frances on Stage; Edith in “State of Temporary Terror”

She looked scared. You could see the tension but even though Edith looked like in a state of temporary terror at the moment of whatever she did wrong .. she went off and did her own thing away from him.. over to the other end of the stage“

Ethan Kath Undermined Alice Glass’ Contributions to Crystal Castles and tried to Paint her as Interchangeable
Ethan Kath has been on record saying the following:
Ethan Kath claimed that Alice Glass did not appear on Crystal Castles “best known songs” and lists Vietnam, Reckless, Year of Silence, 1991, & Good Time…he claims that these songs are more well known by Crystal Castles fans Alice Practice, Baptism, Celestica, Suffocation, Courtship Dating, Black Panther, Empathy Plague etc.; what numbers is he referring to? If the entire Crystal Castles fan base was surveyed and had to list their favorite/most memorable songs, would the majority list 1991 and Good Time over Alice Practice and Baptism? Does not seem likely.

Though it seems as if he is trying to “see through Alice Glass’ logic” here, this statement is actually written in a very manipulative way. Rather than directly refuting Alice Glass’ claims with figures and numbers, Ethan Kath responds by telling the readers ‘it can’t be both’; trying to paint Alice as someone that does not make sense and gas-lighting the readers to question Alice’s logic. It is interesting to note that right before he also claims in the interview that “I didn’t belittle her or make any derogatory comments, I was acknowledging what she had already said herself” even though his comments did attempt to belittle her and undermine her accomplishments; he is trying to get the readers to re-interpret Alice’s words. Gaslighting is a form of manipulation that seeks to sow seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or in members of a targeted group, hoping to make them question their own memory, perception, and sanity. Using persistent denial, misdirection, contradiction, and lying, it attempts to destabilize the target and delegitimize the target’s belief.
To be clear, it makes logical sense for Alice to have contributed almost all of the lyrics and the majority of the vocal melodies to Crystal Castles despite feeling like she was in an artistically restrictive environment filled with emotional, physical and sexual abuse.
Ethan Kath also said the following in his response to Alice Glass: “I wished her the best because despite everything, I’ll always love her and sincerely want her to do well and be happy.“
It is a tactic of emotionally manipulative abusers to say something rude, degrading, or belittling (i.e. undermining Alice’s contributions to the band) followed by something overly-sweet & loving (i.e. I will always love her and sincerely want her to do well and be happy). This tactic is called intermittent reinforcement or hot & cold behavior.
“On top of other emotional abuse tactics, like gas lighting, narcissists/sociopaths/abusers give or withhold certain needs from their partner, granting them either randomly enough to develop an addiction in their partner or giving them in response to the exact behavior they want to see in their partner. Intermittent reinforcement creates a starvation within the being, which puts the person who is in charge of the reinforcing in a position of complete and absolute control. You will always see intermittent reinforcement present in an abusive relationship..”
Patterns of gaslighting and intermittent reinforcement from Ethan Kath are also highlighted in Alice Glass’ recent statement:
“But as is sometimes the case in abusive relationships, his cruelty was often followed by kindness.“ “He kept me insecure and on edge, and then would tell me that he was the only one it the world that believed in me. …her photoshoots actually have a wide range of “aesthetics” (which is unsurprising as she is a model). Also, in pretty much all of her photoshoots, she is blonde.

Despite being a model who is used to being photographed and who has many photographs available online, many images of Edith released by Crystal Castles don’t clearly show her face…a Reddit user even commented on it after Crystal Castles changed their Apple Music Photo to include Edith:
“I’m not exactly sure what Edith looks like. She keeps hiding behind hair, and glasses, and hats, even when I do see a full face shot of her it’s hard not to see Alice. I think she’s doing herself a disservice by hiding so much” -Reddit User
Because Edith i.e. Margo Frances was a model, she is clearly not camera shy. Why would she be hiding or not fully showing her face? The fact that Edith started to hide her face & become less active on social media after she started spending more time around Ethan follows a pattern that is seen with both Alice Glass and his current romantic partner & former Alice Glass cosplayer Autumn
It is interesting the compare the photos of Edith i.e. Margo Frances pre-Crystal Castles to her after she joined Crystal Castles. It really does seem as though Edith’s style has changed completely to more closely mirror Alice Glass. One of the most noticeable differences is Edith seemed to adpot Alice Glass’ signature haircut & dyed her hairs similar colors to Alice when she was still performing with Crystal Castles. It is likely that Edith (i.e. Margo) Frances is also being manipulated by Ethan Kath. Edith’s style probably so closely mirrors Alice Glass’ style in Crystal Castles to further paint Alice Glass as replaceable, interchangeable and unimportant to Crystal Castles.
