“I wouldn’t know what exactly ‘advanced vampire’ means.” Blanca exhales and stretches. How long had she actually been asleep? Venix was still alive, so maybe it wasn’t that long.

Sound was the first thing to return to Venix’s world. A familar voice speaking and waking him up. Next was sight, light shined into his eyes, though in reality the room was rather dim. Was it night? or were the blinds merely shut? he couldn’t tell yet

Next came the pain. “Oh fuck…” He groaned.

A soft expression of relief came across Blanca.

“Don’t get up just yet,” She advised.

Shutters were closed in the luxurious room, but one left slightly ajar to allow some light in. It was about midday and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, cool air flowed in from the brisk outdoors.

The vampire was seated at the edge of the bed Venix was on. It was large, plush, and smelled clean. Two twin maids stood at the doorway, hands held behind their back.

“How are you feeling?”

“Like I cracked open my damn skull…” Venix muttered. On instinct he began checking himself for wounds, ignoring the pain in his arm as he prodded the rest of his body. “… A broken rib?” He guessed, even though Blanca had probably already taken care of all of that.

He looked down at his chest. His shirt was off and his scars and muscles visible. Or at least they would be if it weren’t for the bandages and bruises that covered the whole thing. He turned his attention to the rest of the room. Spotting the two maids (no flirting today, he was too tired for that) before his gaze finally rested on Blanca.

“When did I get here?” He asked, voice hoarse:

"About... Hmm... A little before the first hour this morning. Lucky for you, you didn't break your neck or something of the sort. You were all dirty and scraped up..."

She closes her eyes and stands, smoothing her coat out as she does so. "I assume you fell unconscious from a tree after enduring a considerable amount of fatigue among other injuries... But who knows with you."

It was an unusual but nostalgic feeling to have armor on. She needed to go out and find herself again. Bloodwick felt heavy in her hands, but the aura it radiated felt welcoming and excitable— She hadn't held him in years. A whisper slithered it's way into her mind, "What will you do?" The vampire looked on towards the horizon, it was dusk and the sun was steadily falling. Her first step was dedicated to the road, she would continue until the road ended and keep going where the land begins.

Venix glared at her, muscles tense and stance low, like a wolf ready to pounce on its prey. “Why not?” He demanded. “You know they deserve it as well as I do. Why shouldn’t I just fix the problem right now?”

“The repercussions will be ten times worse. You know that, I can’t let you go down that road.” the vampire’s facial expression changes from genuine worry to an icy glare that would bore into anyone’s soul.

“If you feel so keen on advancing, then you will have to get through me first.”

“…I don’t want to do this Blanca. But if you’re going to make me that’s your fault.” There were no more words to say. He charged her, blade forward and ready to take flesh.

A cold breath leaves Blanca's lips as Venix charges at her. She didn't have a weapon, she never intended to hurt him, but as she said the repercussions would be bad. In a split second the vampire moves her foot behind her, quickly jumping to the side and using her momentum to bounce back behind Venix. She reaches out and yanks Venix's cloak back towards her.
