I came across this group of flies last week gathered on top of a metal fence.
I'm not sure what they exactly are, my best guess is that they're all from the family Anthomyiidae.
I barely post here oops

1st attack this year
For @extraterrestrialavian123 since I missed them last year
I've had these up for sale since December last year and still haven't sold any of the designs so I'm sharing them here!
These are three fly adopts, all based around flies that are either active during winter or that like cold climates.
They're all up for sale on my kofi and the minimum price for one is £8. You will recieve a simple reference sheet and the image shown above but just with the adopt that you've bought.
Check them out here! Any kind of support/boosts are really appreciated:

Boosting!! I'd love to get at least one sold :)
From last year, a drawing of Meconema thalassinum aka the oak bush cricket.
I LOVE MINING BEES!! I LOVE MASON BEES!!! I LOVE NOMAD BEES!! I LOVE SOLITARY BEES!!
A drawing I did yesterday based off the species Nomada flava.
Bee person based off the species Sphecodes monilicornis, the box headed blood bee.
I often see Sphecodes bees out at this time of year, it's a shame they're difficult to identify down to species though.

Here is my amazing reacreation of the kinds of profile pictures I tend to see the most on inaturalist (from my personal experience).
Andrena fulva is my most favorite species of all insect species to ever exist. I love the entirety of the mining bee genus, Andrena, but this specific species is my absolute favourite!
Here's a female I saw last year :)
The amount of times I've had to correct observations of solitary bees on inaturalist that were identified as honey bees is insane. Please, double check an ID before you suggest it.
Bee image taken from the BWARS Andrena fulva page.

I made some bullshit today.
#Andrenafulvaforever
All of the insects except number 5 are parasites of this species. Number 5 is a male bee, the orange one is the female.
Images 1 and 2 are taken from BWARS, image 5 belongs to mattcolephotography, image 6 comes from cirrusimage.come, image 2 comes from the Wikipedia page for Bombylius major and image 4 comes from research gate and the photo was done by John T Smit.
Wip drawing of a very colourful mosquito.. :D
Might sell the design once it's done.
If you saw something like this posted before, ignore that old post. I'm really tired today and genuinely didn't notice I was putting the feathery bits onto the wrong leg pair.
Drew this guy today based off a male tawny mining bee, Andrena fulva.
Finally got the motivation to draw again so have this snake fly person, based off the species Atlantoraphidia maculicollis. I haven't draw any new anthro bugs recently until now.
Some art from last year.
Lepidophora lutea, hunchback bee fly!!!
I'd love to see one of these in person one day, they're such cool looking flies.
