biography:
Ezra grew up in Beverly Hills. He was an only child, so he was spoiled from the get go. Both of his parents were in the limelight, his father a luxury real estate agent and his mother an actress. His idea of normal was luxurious houses and extravagant parties. And whilst his parents always donated to various charities, Ezra didn't know what it was like at all to be anything less than rich. Branded clothing, cars, accessories.
Ezra flew through his schooling, he spent most of his high school years high and paying people to complete tests for him. He had become very carefree, because he could get away with anything. Nobody would mess with him knowing who his parents were, so he breezed through easily but when it came to a career it wasn't as easy. He ended up getting a job at his fathers real estate agency which was the top agency in Los Angeles specializing in celebrity and luxury homes. He knew he had to work hard, for his fathers sake so he did. Eventually becoming the youngest top selling agent in the country.
But, Ezra was hungry for more, so he found the right people to pitch a reality tv show to. Luxury Listings LA first aired when Ezra was twenty six. It focused on him and his colleges selling these opulent mansions in Los Angeles and the drama that followed them throughout the work place. Cheating scandals, drug rumors, you name it that show had everything and people lapped it up. It quickly became one of the most successful Netflix reality shows to exist.
The show had eight seasons, but when Ezra got someone pregnant he decided to leave. He did not want to be responsible for a child so he paid the woman off, and quite frankly for the first time in his life Ezra was rather scared of the consequences so as a peace offering he decided to leave and move up to Aurora Bay. He could still continue his work going between LA but also open up a branch of his fathers agency in Aurora Bay to have something of his own.
Noelle gasped when she heard what awful thing happened, and she frowned as he continued to speak. “That’s so awful. Well you deserve better than them!” She emphasized her seriousness with a nod. “You’re right! That’s why I think it’ll be so much fun. I just need a dress.”
“Does Sea Glass sell that kind of thing?” He asked, his head cocking to the side. Ezra had gotten to know the business around her by now. He brought most of his suits on rodeo drive, so Ezra honestly couldn’t relate to finding anything around Aurora Bay. “Or would the bridal shop maybe?” @noellexdriscoll
“Hey I get that, but it’s way too messy for me.” Which was a bit ironic coming from Nari, the woman who fell for her co-star/fake boyfriend on Nepo Babies, then found a rebound that she ended up falling for, only for them to be driven apart by all the secrecy of their relationship. Yeah, totally not messy at all.
Nari took a shot and wiped the corner of her mouth with her thumb. “Alright, uh… never have I ever been gotten embarrassingly drunk at a party before.”
“Come on,” he takes another shot, easily. “Nari, who the fuck hasn’t got embarrassingly drunk at a party before? Can we ask some harder questions?”
He looked towards her, eyebrows wiggling playfully as if to egg her on. “I know you’ve got juicier questions than this. Why are you going easy on me? Are you scared of what’s gonna come out of my mouth?”
Luz's eyes trailed down to his mouth for a moment, watching his movements, before flickering back up to meet his gaze, quite enjoying the look on his face. "Valid." She quipped back as she finally let her hand fall back down between them (after of course letting her fingers graze down his arm on the way down). "I'll keep that in mind. Maybe a bottle of wine? You like I buttering people up after all to keep them on my good side." And as he spoke she took a teeny step closer, more into his space as she hummed, "What do you want?" She countered, brow raising in response. "After all, it's not like I'm here with anyone. And this is a whole new town for me, hardly anyone I know. I have plenty of time just waiting to be commandeered."
“You.” He said, low and husky. In this moment he certainly did want her and he was tempted to whisk her off to one of the empty classrooms immediately. He could tell she was enjoying his reaction just as much as he was enjoying her company. “We could go get a bottle of wine and go back to my place.” He suggested, his hand lingering on hers a moment as she dragged it down his arm. It was very clear he was doing his best to regain his composure. When she stepped closer without missing a beat his hands went to her hips. “You ready to get out of this party?” @theluzxacero
The two costume-clad people were on opposites sides of the room, unlikely that they knew each other. Mel thought of what an epic romance it would make. "I am starting to feel like it's our duty to matchmake them." If she was going to meddle in the lives of strangers, there was no way she could do it alone.
Mel sucked air through her teeth, a pained expression dancing along her features. "If you're not already planning then I think you're waaay behind these folks," she joked. "I know some families who start counting down the day after Christmas." Taking a beat, she adds, "Christmas is also big here."
Facing lighting up at the invitation, Mel wasn't one to turn down such an offer to dress together for Halloween. "It won't win the Best Dressed contest but it sure would be funny to us."
"I'm down," Ezra replied, though his match making skills weren't exactly the best the pair already looked like two peas in a pod without them even meeting, so he figured the work would do themselves. "How small is this town though?" he asked after thinking about it a little harder. "What are the chances they're exes or something?"
He nodded his head, now he was starting to get the gist of the town. They clearly went all out for everything. "Alright well, we're both sorted for Halloween I don't have to have too many sleepless nights over that but we should probably arrange a time to start looking at our costumes."
After a moment he leaned back into his chair to relax a little bit. "So is there anything they don't do big here?" @melodyxlewis
"And this whole prom is aquatic themed so we need to get everyone in here chanting Purple Rain too," Gideon observes before a troubled expression passes over his face.
"I'm realizing that most of the people in this room weren't even alive when Purple Rain came out."
“Myself included in that statement.” Ezra admits as he lets out a heavy sigh. He would’ve loved to have grown up in the eighties or early nineties. But he hadn’t had that privilege.
“I wonder if I slipped the DJ a $100 bill?” He was out of touch in that aspect. “Is that enough?” @greengideon
⸻ Freyja looked over when he called her name, surprised to see the bracelet in his hand. ❛ Oh! Thanks! You’re a lifesaver! ❜ she said, taking it from him and slipping it back onto her wrist. ❛ My personal stylist would kill me if I lost it. I promised her I’d take good care of it and wear it again for another event. ❜ Technically, she wasn’t even supposed to be wearing it today—but she'd insisted, and as usual, got her way. ❛ So… how should I reward you? ❜ she asked with a playful glint in her eye.
“Oof,” he nodded his head. That meant the jewelry needed to be handed back. “That means it’s expensive.” He knew the industry well enough to know that, he’d even been yelled at by stylists himself. “Hmm,” a smirk appears on his face, his head tilting to the side as the blonde offered to thank him, perhaps he was being too forward but if there was one thing he did best it was shooting his shot. “Maybe coffee? Or we could go for drinks?” @freyjadahl
Luz rolled her eyes at him, smirking all the while. "What. You think I can't handle small town life? Or maybe, it's the the small town can't handle me." Her smirk just grew as she said it too, playfully letting her finger trail along the man's jawline for a moment as she said it. "it's already looking promising though." Luisa let her hand drop then, raising a brow as he explaining his reasonings for being here. "I see. Well, maybe I should send your father a fruit basket or something in thanks for sending you here." She teased, smiling at him all the while. "Especially since I don't plan on hitting up LA again any time soon."
Ezra’s eyes watched as her fingers grazed his jawline, his bottom lip catching between his teeth. For a moment he fell silent, reminiscing on old times. His grin turned wicked, he didn’t move just let he’d have her moment. He was still putty in her hands, clearly. “I’m not worried for you, I’m worried for Aurora Bay,” he teased, full well knowing it was a bit of a cheek considering he was up to just as much mischief as she would be, if not more so. Truth be told, he wasn’t quite sure if he could handle her either. He let out a laugh when she mentioned the fruit basket, his head tilting to the side. “He’d probably like that.” He agreed, “but what about me, what do I get for gracing you with my presence?” @theluzxacero
"You see, I'm a bit boring so I tend to just get a long black." He gave her a small grin, motioning for her to order. "Go on, it's on me. Then you won't be too disappointed if it's awful." Hearing she was new made him feel a little more in place, he hadn't been here long either so maybe they could figure it out together. "I really actually haven't been here long either," he replied, tilting his head to the side, leaning in to whisper. "They do a great almond croissant, but Sweet Nothing's do the best desserts and cakes in town." @sjwalsh
"A long black? I don't know if I would call that boring. Quite a taste really." The blonde said, with a light giggle. "Aren't you a sweetheart. Thank you, handsome." So far, Aurora Bay was a sweet nice place. Most of the people she had run into were quite nice. SJ wondered if it was a front, similar to her small town were outsiders felt that everyone was a bundle of joy. "Oh, you're new here? That's nice. Where are you coming from?" she couldn't help but wonder. He looked like a city guy.
"Really?" her eyes glistened with interest as she looked up at him. "I'll have to pop into Sweet Nothing's then sometime this week. But for now, an almond croissant sounds delicious." she said as she stepped up ahead and placed her order. "I'm Saphira, by the way. Or your can call me SJ."
“I try,” he responded, a sly smirk appearing across his face. It wasn’t even a lie, he did try. With everyone. He could easily get used to Aurora Bay with the amount of pretty people he’d found to look at, Saphira included. “Yeah I’m from LA. Change of pace but I like it so far, the people seem to be nice,” he locked his lips, looking down at her. “What about you?” He asked, then he was quick to make their order.
“You should.” He nodded his head in agreement. “Maybe I should come with you, just so, you know what to get?” It was a cheeky suggestion, but Ezra would always shoot his shot. “SJ. It’s wonderful to meet you, I’m Ezra.” @sjwalsh
the sound of his voice made her stop in her tracks. she had been making her usual rounds, though they seemed a little more hurried as she tried to make her way back over to bas. she knew they should never have happened. not only was it wholly a cliche, but she knew one word to her brother would have spelled an endless verbal war she was not interested in battling. but who ever said she didn't like to play with a bit of fire? "who, me?" she asked slyly, the patented dubois smirk gracing her lips once again. "now how could you say a thing like that, mr. lawrence?"
bejeweled fingers brushed back her hair as he complimented her, each move seemingly manufactured to entice. "thank you. you look quite handsome yourself. here by your lonesome?"
Under the sea seemed like a fitting name for this party considering Ezra had definitely found himself in a sea of beautiful people, but he lapped these sort of things up. That smirk of hers was wrapped in silk, even talking to Isla felt like he was playing with fire. Too bad he liked to burn. He licked his lips as he looked down at her. “Maybe it’s just the combination of us that makes trouble,” his sly grin matched hers, taking a small sip of his champagne.
Isla was not new to compliments, he knew that. “For now,” he shrugged his shoulders. Despite their slip up, the pair actually knew each other quite well. “I’m never alone for long though, you know that Miss.” @itsisla-dubois
"Well I do love to leave people mystified." She playfully threw her hair over her shoulder as she said it, grinning up at him all the while. Ezra had easily been one of her favorite clients- someone who was handsome and charming and just easy to be around, and as he complimented her she even have a little twirl in her dress, showing it off. "You always did know how to stroke my ego." Luz replied before nodding to him, "And you, for the record, look as handsome as always." She tacked on, taking a little step closer as she hummed, "I live here now. Decided Manhattan and LA were all a bit too...much, so so I thought a nice little change of scenery was in order. I have family here. And you? What brings you to this quiet little town?"
Ezra's grin widened as the brunette twirled in front of him. She certainly did have an effect on him, still even now. But, she was stunning so that was really no surprise at all. "Look at you, going all small town," as if he could talk, he was here too, wasn't he? It definitely wasn't a complaint, perhaps they'd reunited for a reason. "It's nice here," he looked around the busy gymnasium, shrugging his shoulders. "My dad wanted a branch of his agency down here, so I offered to come and run it for him now the show's stopped." That wasn't exactly a lie, but it certainly wasn't the truth. Los Angeles got him into too much trouble. "I'm still in LA once or twice a month, but yeah, I'm down here permanently." @theluzxacero
Eyeing up the oceanic-inspired cuisine, Mel was a bit hesitant. She was never one for food just left to it's own devices, and even less when it's seafood. Thankful for the distraction, Mel looks up with a smile. "Have you seen the lobster girl? I feel like they'd make such a cute couple."
Aurora Bay never did half measures. Every event was carefully calculated and decorated within an inch of its life. "You haven't been here long, have you?" She asks. "Just wait until you see how they do Halloween. It's next level."
Immediately Ezra’s eyes go from the food to scan the crowd. It wasn’t hard to spot lobster girl but he was surprised he was only seeing her now. “Wait no they’d be perfect. If I don’t see them making out by the end of the night I’m gonna be disappointed.”
A laugh broke from his lips as she clocked him having not been in town long. That must’ve meant she was from here. “Not really, no. Do I need to start planning now…or…?” He grinned. “Hang on, I’ve got an idea. You go as lobster girl and I’ll go as jellyfish guy.” @melodyxlewis
“Excuse me,” Ezra said, chasing the blonde down the hallway of the school. “You dropped this.” In his hands was a small gold bracelet, he’d thought he’d seen fall off her wrist. “Well, I think it’s yours.”
"There was absolutely a guy here who took this sea theme too seriously and dressed as a jelly fish, wasn't there?" He said to the blonde stranger as he looked over the array of different finger foods that had been set out on a table. All of which were sea themed or shaped. "They really go all out at these things don't they?"
