Scents of history: study hopes to recreate smells of old Europe

Researchers plan library of scents from plague repellents to early tobacco

This is an interesting thing to do. The sad thing is that none of these smells will come alive to anyone, the way they do with modern smells, because there is no-one left with the memory of the original scents.
