Sigurd tensed a little as someone started walking by him. Maybe they wouldn’t speak to him, or acknowledge him? Unfortunately, fate had other ideas.
His eyes flickered to the side as the boy beside him greeted him. “Hei..” was all he murmured, his grip on his books loosening a little. The boy didn’t seem like a threat to him, and he always heard that socializing was healthy. “J-Ja, just, uh, first day back..” he replied, trying not to let his nervousness show. He had never been great at talking, but maybe this was the year he’d attempt to gain friends.
immediately, tino picks up on the nervousness exuding from their companion; he feels sort of bad for him, but feels quite useless in actually assisting him. he purses his lips as he continues walking alongside.
“the first day back is always the hardest!” he chuckles lightheartedly. “i’m tino, by the way! it is nice ‘ta meet ya!” he extends his hand, having to move his books awkwardly in doing so, but he manages without dropping anything, so he takes it as a small feat for today.
Sigurd continued watching the other out of the corner of his eye cautiously. "Ja, it is." he hummed, drumming his slender fingers against his books. "Tino? O-oh, I'm Sigurd." he said before looking at the hand held out for him. Slowly, he shifted the weight of his books to his arm on the opposite side and gently placed his hand in the other's. "..Nice to meet you, too." he added, the corners of his mouth turned upwards in the slightest of smiles.
