the bitter winds rush around them like eager children, careless in their journey they coil in her blonde curls and lift them up. the heavy cloak drawn up onto her shoulders shields her well enough but spare flecks of snow can been seen decorating the fur, bright eyes peeking behind the thick neck. a blizzard was well on its way in; the signs had been slowly showing themselves as the day progressed and regretfully they were only halfway up the mountain pass. feet are careful in the snow lithe body withstanding the freeze to the best of her ability, but behind her cloak her bottom lip trembled.
faelmon followed closely behind if she cut her eyes she could faintly see the gold of his armor in her peripheral. it was comforting to have him nearby -- he was one of the few people she truly trusted and despite his word against this journey he still chose to accompany her. it made a small smile touch her cold lips the briefest flush of warmth lingering in her cheeks and neck before being whisked away by the cold, a harsh gust throwing her thick tresses into her gaze as she attempted to press forward. feet stumbling a bit into the snow she’s blind as another gust follows catching her off guard, body trying to stand firm against the heavy winds but her feet fumble. a foot falls behind her to try and catch her weight but all she feels air, a surge of panic suddenly consuming her chest entirely.
her heart bursts in her chest slapping into her ribs as bright eyes widen in fear, mind frozen as she feels herself falling. weight easily shifting in the cliffs favor, lips part a scream prepared to rip free of her lungs when a strong arm coils around her waist. body drawn back onto solid rock before she can even blink, her small frame is pulled close her cold cheek pressed into even colder armor. blue eyes wide with fear as her hands grasp firmly onto faelmon, the tremor coursing through her limbs leaving her like a new born doe the only thing keeping her upright the golden mer before her.
gaze inclines to look at him and she makes no motion to move from his arms the fear still tracing through her chest, words are soft and timid as she speaks in a hushed whisper afraid the mountain side may hear her. “ t...t-thank you. “ as her words fall free of her lips tears prick at the edges of her eyes as she cast her gaze to the cliff edge once more cheek taking its place back onto his chest.
