This week is going to be very stressful for me with meetings upon meetings. This Bible verse is what I turn to in times of extreme stress and anxiety, and I hope it helps you too. Give your worries to the Lord. You are not going through this alone.

This week is going to be very stressful for me with meetings upon meetings. This Bible verse is what I turn to in times of extreme stress and anxiety, and I hope it helps you too. Give your worries to the Lord. You are not going through this alone.
I have been really stressed lately because of schoolwork. I needed a bit of encouragement and found this bible verse that really speaks to me. Do not worry or get stressed about what is going on in the world around you. The Lord knows what he is doing. If you do get worried or stressed, take it to the Lord in prayer. Give all of your worries to Him. Know that God knows what he is doing with everything going on, and going through this moment will make you a stronger and better person.
Bible Study pt. 1
Disclaimer: Some of what I am about to write did not come from me, but from a book titled Lady in Waiting: Expanded Edition by Jackie Kendall and Debby Jones. Proper citations will be given.
Chapter 1: Lady of Reckless Abandonment
This chapter did not pertain to me personally as I am not yet married, but it really opened my eyes to what I could be doing with my free time. In chapter one, Jackie and Debby say that “happiness is not found in marriage but in a right relationship with God” (14). A woman does to need a significant other in her life to feel fulfilled and that she has a purpose. God has put her here for a reason.
Jackie and Debby then talk about Ruth “recklessly abandoning herself to God” (15), and how a woman can use the story to reshape her life. Ruth had to experience new friends, new surroundings, and a new life in order to grow closer to God.
New Friends:
Ruth understood “that she would not be able to grow closer to the God of Israel if she remained among the Moabites (her own people)” (16). There are still “Moabites” that exist among us. They consist of subpar Christians that may try to distance yourself from God. Keep your guard up with these people. Jackie and Debby say “If a non-Christian or a lukewarm Christian influences you rather than you influencing them, you may be headed for serious trouble” (17). People tend to act like the ones who influence them. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says “Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company corrupts good character’”. Reflect back on your friendships. Have any of them caused you to become distant with God? Real friends should be encouraging you to become closer to Jesus.
New Surroundings:
Ruth had to change her surroundings in order to follow Christ. In the same way, a single woman might need a change of scenery to grow spiritually, whether that be a new job or a new church. Yes change does seem scary, but it may be necessary.
New Life:
Ruth broke her family ties and adopted a lifestyle that challenges the lifestyles of others for God. “She wanted God’s will, not hers; His blueprints, not her elementary scribbling; God’s assignment, not her foolish plans” (20).
Leave the mediocracy of the material world for a relationship with God.
Hey y'all. My friends and I have recently started a bible study every Tuesday night with a book titled "Lady In Waiting". It talks about living to your fullest potential in Christ while you wait for a man, and that if you have an empty filling inside of you, fill it with the love of Christ instead of seeking a material thing like a boyfriend. I will (attempt to) keep y'all up to date on what we talk about every week. So far this is a very good bible study and has opened my eyes a lot.
As a college kid, finals are around the corner. When I feel stressed and overwhelmed about the amount of homework and studying I have, I remember this verse. It lifts my spirit to know that I am never alone. The Lord is always with me and will give me the strength I need.
Have full trust in the Lord no matter what. Even if you don’t know and are worried about where He is taking you, trust in Him and His will for you.
