Howls
falka-weber:
Falka nodded thoughtfully, she took the last sip of her wine and held the glass towards Miron, as if asking for another. “The second part is a loaded question. On one hand I want to believe that they’ll want me back, but on the other, what assures me that they’ll want to? I guess… old love that perhaps will still linger in them. Now back to the beginning. The cruelty of their actions, the lie and removal of honesty between them and me, that’s a thing that will push me away.”
She said it all with a somber half smile, the thought of separating from her family was hard on her, but she believed every word she said, even if it’ll tear her heart a little.
“You are right, it is not. And I assume each family have their own way of describing honour. My family, I suppose, wants to see me and Edkar succeed. To show the wizarding world the Weber family is still alive and is here to stay. The honour they need is approval. And in order to get them that… I have to work my hardest to succeed. It’s a nugget of gold that you have to dig deep down, through thick and thin to get.”
There was a glisten in Miron’s eyes, and if anyone were to know them well, they’d know that it wasn’t purely of innocent source. They poured more wine into Falka’s glass, without saying anything about it. “Interesting.” they said. “You seem to be hardly dependent and attached to anyone. Is that on purpose, Fräulein Weber? That you consider no one important enough to put your love for them over their cruel actions?”
“Success.” Miron hummed. “Approval.” A smirk curled their lips. “Approval from the society you’re deeming so … unworthy to judge?”
Falka wasn't concentrating on Miron's eyes, only on their hands. Hands that were so unique, so rough yet smooth on the edges. She wanted to touch them, to run her finger over the ridges of the fingers, but she couldn't dare. Instead, she sufficed with holding their hand a tiny bit longer when she went to grab her cup back. She took another sip and then looked at them, seriously, maybe for the first time tonight "It's because everyone is so important to me that I'd do this. Cruel actions sometime shows cruel intentions. And if anyone does that, then they break my heart" she sighed "And I can't deal with too much of a broken heart"
She stared, for a short while, straight ahead into the dark surrounding, then looked back at them, returning the smirk "well, approval from a society that I didn't approve"
