In the last moon of the worst leaf-bare the Clans had seen in generations, a star falls from the sky.
BayClan and FieldClan have made and recited stories for hundreds of moons about The Shade. A malignant entity that preys on Clan cats, but only a mere kit tale. But in the wake of the fallen star begins a string of disappearances, violent deaths, and unmistakable encounters with the monsters from their legends.
Fuzzyboots is played and drawn by @clarissasbakery!
Fuzzyboots was born as Fuzzykit to her mother, Smokefern and father, Lionleap. She was the only kit in their litter, and what’s more she had the rare mutation of being almost hairless! It was for this reason that Smokefern and Lionleap decided that Fuzzykit was special, and a gift to them straight from the Stars. They fed this sort of thinking to Fuzzykit on a daily basis, which made her truly believe it. When Fuzzykit became Fuzzypaw, the lines she was told by her mother and father about being special seemed to fade away to her. because of her mutation, Fuzzypaw couldn’t spend a lot of time outside, which made it even harder for her to get any official training in, and during the cold times it was even harder. She didn’t have a lot of interest in traditional duties like hunting or fighting, so Fuzzypaw was aiming to be an artisan when she got older.
Her fixation in the stars and such led Fuzzypaw to a nightly outing, where she was struck by a vision from the moon. While looking into a puddle, she saw her pawpads glow, and the half-moon in her gaze. Fuzzypaw knew she had been chosen to become an oracle instead, and so her faith in her specialness was reinstated. Her mother and father were ten times worse in spoiling Fuzzypaw now that her destiny was to become a very important cat. Fuzzypaw took her oracle training duties very seriously, and when she was old enough, she was named Fuzzyboots— ever since, Fuzzyboots has been a very dedicated oracle.

⚔️ BRAMBLETHORN, THE KNIGHT | FIELDCLAN ADOPTABLE ⚔️
48 Moons | AMAB He/Him | FieldClan Warrior
Born from a long line of keepers and warriors known for their fighting prowess, Bramblethorn was determined to follow in their pawsteps. He made his ambition known from a young age-- he and his best friend, Quietsong, were going to be the best keeper-shepherd duo FieldClan had ever seen!
He built up his life around it, naturally taking a leading role with a deep voice that rumbled like a storm. He wasn't pushy, though, he was simply firm, clear; he would be the Clan's anchor. The first to react in danger and always keeping a level-head. His ambition made him reckless in his younger moons, and he has the scars to prove it, wanting to be a hero, a saviour, a protector.
So, when time came for a new keeper to be chosen, he was wholly expecting to be picked. But imagine his surprise when he was passed over. Knowing it might be a long time until a new keeper is chosen, he seems subdued, but still performs his duty to his Clan to the best of his ability.

What would spectators be able to witness in the Discord RP? I am very intrigued by this idea but I am hindered by the idea of it being open invite. Will spectators have limited access to channels or be able to see everything?
the spectators will be able to see everything but cannot post in the actual roleplay channels so as to not disrupt any roleplays. they can interact with everything ooc and discuss the roleplay and characters in their appropriate channels!
should a spectator want to start roleplaying, they can message me (fawn, admin) and ill give them the roleplayer role, where they can start roleplaying once their character has been accepted.
Hello! I am very excited for this rp, the lore intrigues me and I am already forming character ideas, but I do have a concern. Anyone being able to join the Discord worries me somewhat. How will you moderate/verify who enters?
hello!! we're working on setting up a verification system right now through our ticket system! it should be up in the next few hours. the verification will be simple, but will ask for an active social (to ensure you aren't like Super Problematic) and a small roleplay sample so we can see your roleplaying style.
By half real-time/liquid time do you mean that threads must be finished in one month or one day (extensions allowed)?
threads can go for as long as they need to but it would be best to get them wrapped up within a month! they can go on for longer (like if you start a thread in moon 2 when it rolls over to moon 3 in a day/week, you can still rp that thread until its conclusion). for example if we're on moon 4 and you still have an active roleplay from moon 1, it would be best to wrap up that roleplay in order to get your characters caught up.
Will applying with non-highrank cats be through Google doc application or joining the discord server and submitting a cat?
it will be through discord submission! no google forms required. however you can format your character submission however you choose and are allowed to post through google docs :)
real time, but uses some liquid time to allow for multiple rps per character and on a case-by-case basis should the moon need to be stretched for some reason. rollovers happen each first of the month. this is just so that events don't stretch on for too long, but also aren't super short either!
will this roleplay be open to everyone or application based?
it will always be open to everyone in the sense that anyone can join at any time, however character submissions may close occasionally for a certain rank or clan if they are getting an incredibly high volume of submissions. the discord server will always be publicly available for roleplayers and spectators to join! :)
Do leaders have unique suffixes? This is a very interesting roleplay concept and I hope it takes off!
BayClan leaders follow the typical -star suffix, but FieldClan shepherds retain their original names! They just tack on the "Shepherd" to their official title, and are given a ~special~ title for their skill.
E.g., Quietsong would be formally introduced as "Shepherd Quietsong, Herald of the Winds" ([Rank] [Name], [Title]). They are typically just called "Quietsong" or "Shepherd" by FieldClan cats, or "Shepherd Quietsong" by BayClan cats.
What are you looking for personality wise in high rank roles? Can we hear more about the plot? This rp set up and lore looks very interesting!
pretty much anything goes! just keep in mind the typical clan personalities-- for example, a very antisocial or irritable deputy may not fare well in fieldclan compared to bayclan!
the basic plot outline can be found on the website, but after a meteor falls into their territories, the clans begin to experience disappearances and worrying symptoms in cats who claimed to have seen something strange. the monsters told in kit tales, thought to only be myths, have crept into the living world and begin to torment the clans. how it all plays out depends on the clans and the decisions they make :)
A culture that emphasizes honor, family, and duty over all.
Many cats are free-spirited, but will always return to the sea.
Wary of outsiders but open minded.
Inhabiting the coasts, wetlands, and fields, BayClan is a mixture of RiverClan and ShadowClan. Their aquatic habitat has enabled them to gain webbed paws over many generations and a large lung capacity which allows them to dive for longer periods of time than the average cat. They believe that all things come from and return to the sea and worship the sea god, Mare.
BayClan is a bit more independent, which leaves rooms for cliques and tight friend groups to form. They are often blunt and straightforward, much like the cliffs that jut against the coastline, and they value strength and skill. They enjoy sparring, and are almost always damp. While not as creatively expressive as FieldClan, BayClan cats are known to adorn themselves with glittering accessories like fish scales and pearls, with plenty of cats being quite vain.
BayClan's unique subranks are fishers and sentries. Fishers are cats who specialize in fishing and diving, with a strong swimming ability and fearlessness. They use nets to catch large swathes of fish, and dive into the sea in groups like penguins to take down larger prey. They are tasked with watching the tides to alert for floods, save drowning cats, and signal what times are safe to hunt and roam the shores. Sentries are the strongest warriors; Battle-hardened guards and front-line combatants. They train to fight in all types of weather and terrain. They are occasionally tasked with rescuing cats who have been caught out in a nasty storm or other disaster.
Highly devout with a culture that encourages creativity and friendship.
Values faith and knowledge over brawns or honor.
Open to outsiders and accepting of others.
Inhabiting the moorlands, forests, and valley, FieldClan was born as a mixture of Thunderclan and WindClan. They are fond of artistic expression and are deeply religious, integrating it into their everyday lives. Uniquely, FieldClan believes in The Song, the cycle of life of all creatures as their lives are weaved into the greater melody of the world. Each FieldClan cat has a song unique to them, and are encouraged to work on their songs until death. They are noted to be playful, talkative, and incredibly devout.
FieldClan places great importance on Oracles, as they act as spiritual guides and healers of both body and mind, and thus, the head Oracle of the time is considered the leader-- the Shepherd. The Shepherd leads the Clan in prayer and blesses them with the power that the Stars imbued into them at their 9 lives ceremony, able to hand out fragments of this holy power and pass it on to their clanmates through little ways.
While the Shepherd is the most important cat in the Clan, they do not act alone. They rely on the input of The Council: A group of all high ranks as well as select senior warriors and elders who have proved their worth in some way. The Council makes decisions ranging from trivial matters, such as what an apprentice's warrior name should be, to the exile of a Clanmate, to battle strategies.
FieldClan's unique rank is the artisan. These are warriors who find the life of a creative to be far more fitting. Artisans draw, paint, write, act, weave, design, carve, perform, dance, and sing their way through life. There are four main specializations to an artisan: Painter, weaver, builder, and entertainer. However, no cat is required to fit themselves into a category, and can do anything and everything, so long as they have access to the materials to create.
