Everything We Know About Future ML Seasons - SPOILERS
Disclaimer: All of this information is readily available between the ML Wiki, Official Tumblr page, and other online sources like blogs or google. This is just something I put together as a quick easy reference for this platform (because I’m obsessed with lists that get to the point). Also keep in mind that this information could be subject to change. Season 2&3 were in different stages of development as all this was being leaked. For an example of how much production can change over time, one need only to compare everything said about the 2016 Christmas special to its final release.
Ladybug will have new powers, including multiple earrings.[x] Supposedly they’ll give her lots of random and unnecessary powers like flying, breathing under water, having unlimited lucky charms, ect.
Chat Noir will play a more important role.[x]
New miraculous [x] and new heroes.[x]
-The Bee miraculous will go to Chloe and the Fox miraculous to Alya.[x]
-The “new heroes” could exclusively mean Bee and Fox, but also keep in mind that both Jeremy Zag and the Official ML tumblr confirmed that there are more miraculous than we’ve seen in Fu’s box.[x]
Chloe’s hero name is Queen Bee [x][x] and she will use a trompo as a weapon.[x] She could get the miraculous as early as season 2 considering Jeremy Zag mentioned S2 when introducing Pollen[x] and Winny believes Chloe-fans will love this season.[x]
Kwami names:
- Bee = Pollen [x]
- Fox = Trixx [x]
- Peacock = Duusu [x]
The Collector for S2, possibly appearing in an early episode.[x]
The Troublemaker for S2, who is akumatized Penny Rolling.[x][x]
Laura Marano will make a cameo in S2 and get akumatized.[x]
Spider-based akumatization for S2?[x][x]
Captain Hardrock and unnamed female akumatization for S3.[x]
Princess Fragrance will make a reappearance in S3.[x]
There will be a new villain who Jeremy Zag insists “makes Hawkmoth look like a baby.” Unfortunately the video of this was taken down.
The peacock user will be Hawkmoth’s new boss.[x] We will learn Paon’s identity by the end of S2, or they’ll at least appear by then[x]
Hawkmoth will get a “helper”[x], I’m unclear if this refers to Paon or a separate individual.
We’ll learn how Hawkmoth obtained his miraculous in S2.[x] Winny also confirmed a Hawkmoth Origin story, which is likely the same episode.[x]
Astruc confirmed new family members.[x]
We will learn more about Adrien’s mom in S2.[x][x]
We will learn about Chloe’s mom.[x]
Alya has a third sibling that we will learn about in S2.[x]
Nino will introduce a close relative of his, possibly a friend of Manon’s.

LGBTQ+ characters will be introduced. Or revealed?[x]
Lila will stick around, and new classmates/friends will join in too.[x]
New major secondary characters.[x] Could be the new heroes, could be completely new characters.

Marinette and Adrien will become a canon couple at some point within the show’s run.[x] Surprise surprise
There’s an animatic that contains “many kisses.” Whatever that means.[x]
There will be development for ships outside the Love Square.[x]
Penny Rolling is in love with Jagged Stone, apparently.[x][x]
Friendships/relationships can potentially fall apart.[x]
They’re keeping the S1 opening theme.[x]
Episodes will have a more chronological order than S1.[x] There are little references to S1 to prove this.[x]
More complex emotional story arcs with more character development.

S2 will reveal whether non-humans, like kwamis, can be akumatized.[x]
We’ll see more of Marinette’s Chinese heritage.[x]
S2 will “break the internet,” according to Astruc and his Civil War gifs. Whether this is a reference to a divide within fandom or the show itself is unknown.[x]
He still says it’ll be nothing compared to S3.[x[ Supposedly the pressure is on for the writers of S3 to outdo the “high bar” set on S2.[x]
Eventually we’ll get a “big party, apocalypse, and DBMAT (Dragon Ball Martial Arts Tournament)”[x] Also speculated: The kitchen sink.
“Big reveal,” according to Astruc. What. Ever. That. MEANS.[x]
“Troublemaker” is about Penny Rolling getting akumatized due to her frustration as an assistant. Jagged Stone’s producer, Bob, wants him to be on a reality tv show to fuel hype for his latest album. Jagged doesn’t want to be on the totally NOT rock ‘n roll show that Bob suggests but gleefully accepts Penny’s suggestion. It’s called “Fill These Shoes,” or something, which I guess means he fills in a different occupation for a day, in this case he’s filling in a baker’s shoes at Marinette’s bakery.
He’s having a good time but things keep going wrong and Jagged finds himself in Marinette’s bedroom while looking for a bathroom. It’s a live show so the cameramen eventually have to follow him, which is problematic since Adrien is watching per Marinette’s request, and he happens to see all the photos of himself in her room. Plagg teases about how she’s another admirer but Adrien insists she’s just a friend. More goes wrong, causing Penny to snap and Hawkmoth akumatizes her into “Troublemaker,” because she’ll now be causing trouble for others instead of fixing it. It’s also revealed Penny is in love with Jagged.[x][x][x][x]
Netflix will release S2 in December 2017 [x] They will drop the first 13 episodes ALL AT ONCE then release the rest later.[x] Oh dear…
This is my speculation so don’t hold me to it, but this is NETFLIX’S release date. Netflix is just the US provider, so unless that’s changed recently then ML is still being broadcasted all over the world on different stations that all decide on their own release dates. I think December 2017 is the release date for the ENGLISH DUB. That’s all Netflix has control over, that’s what everyone in the SDCC2017 panel are working on. The October/September/November release dates announced by Zeremy Zag might still be accurate for other dubs. If there’s no clarification before then we will surely find out by the time October starts rolling along. For now just expect December.
There’s no way of knowing when S3 will air but it’s being made alongside S2 so that it can air immediately after. No more breaks between seasons.[x] Keep in mind that no in-between season breaks doesn’t mean no breaks at all. Netflix is only releasing 13 episodes until an unknown date and many broadcasters went through varying hiatuses all throughout S1.
