@ACMawards : We'll have you, and we want you, @taylorswift13! It is so great to have Taylor back on the #ACMawards stage. Tune-in to @CBS to watch the show now!
MY HEART. IS. EXPLODED.
Taylor really wrote an entire album in 3 months and didnât tell her label till she was about to release it and all I can think about is how Scott forced her to change the name of the Speak Now album from Enchanted to Speak Now and forced her into changing Red from itâs orginal direction so that it would have more singles to sell instead of the album being cohesive. Taylor Swift has ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THIS but she could never show it becuase of Scott and Big Machine. I wonât stop saying how happy I am that she is free to be her complete self!Â

I HAVE NO WORDS I
i am writing this minutes after i just finished my first listen of folklore. i cannot even begin to find the words to say just how mindblown i am with this album. i donât even know where to begin. her songwriting? absolutely immaculate. it has touches of the song writing we all originally fell in love with in her older music but itâs so much more mature. the story she crafted within this album isnât even her own. she moved from writing songs about her own life and experiences and literally created a whole novel, movie, play or however this could be imagined and put it into an album. the intricacies of the lyrics and how theyâre arranged within the song follows a structure weâre familiar with but itâs so far from anything sheâs done before. it really follows the feel of old folk/americana style music but with a modern twist on the structure of the song itself, and itâs beyond brilliant. the stories and subjects she touched upon in these songs were so interesting i felt like i was tripping over my own thoughts the whole time trying to piece together this story. this is easily her absolute best song writing yet. the instrumentation is by far the absolute best iâve ever heard from her. seven and this is me trying bring together so many instruments and orchestrate them all together and just make you feel so much emotion. the string arrangements and the incredibly wide variety of natural, real instruments used here boggles my mind. at times i couldnât even figure out what i was hearing. it all just has such an immersive feel, like i felt like i was sitting in a symphony hall at times listening to this album surround me on all sides and pull me in, and to quickly jump back to the lyrics, the words taylor used to created a mental image to visualize these songs in your own head is magnificent. these songs feel like more of a movie scene than anything sheâs ever done before.Â
i am so beyond taken aback by this record that she just threw together in a matter of months, i would say iâm speechless but the more i listen to this record the more iâll have to say about it. taylor swift continues to impress me beyond what words are capable of expressing. this is her songwriting at itâs very best weâve ever seen and this album was the most amazing journey in music she has ever taken me on. all i have to say is wow. just simply wow.
as with every album release, here is your regular reminder that itâs ok if you donât buy the album, merch, vinyls, or any of the deluxe albums. if you are feeling guilty because you donât have the funds to buy these things either right now or ever, I understand, but itâs totally ok. you are not less of a swiftie and you are not obligated to purchase anything and no one should make you feel lesser for it.
black communities have been witnessing executions like the one that happened to George Floyd throughout generations of oppression. this is terrorism, and it is not the burden of these communities to demand change. so, white people. how can we show up to support our black communities during this time?
1. call the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey: (612) 673-2100 and the DA: (612) 348-5550. demand the prosecution of all of the officers involved in the murder of George Floyd, including Derek Chauvin (badge 1087) and Tou Thao (badge 7162).
2. text âFloydâ to 55156 and demand that the officers in charge of George Floydâs death be charged with murder.
3. black people are asking that we STOP sharing the video of George Floydâs death. we do not need to witness a murder in order to care about it. cruelty like this exists and it is REAL. period.
George Floyd was face down on the ground with a grown manâs knee in the back of his neck, begging them to let him breathe. the officerâs knee remained there even after losing consciousness. the officer continued to kill him. no one deserves a death of that manner and we should all be outraged. to be black in the U.S. should not be a death sentence.
