@lionofmara yeah, and thatâs life, you know? And no new content (beyond ESO, which doesnât seem to have a lot of folks playing) usually lessens the interest.
Itâs a bummer, but is what it is.

Tick never dwells on it for long, but sometimes he catches himself staring at couples on the streets, his heart clenching so hard it hurts.
Heâs okay with being alone, usually. Someone like him, itâs a fact of life that gets acknowledged very early on. But sometimes, every now and then, he wonders what itâs like. To wake up beside someone you love, to share something together and build it nice and strong to last you both years.
But itâs not for him, and he knows it, so he locks those feelings away and moves on before they catch him staring.
Some ideas
In Dragon Age, Tick would be the son of a merchant from Starkhaven and a Dalish elf. Itâs a bit of a whirlwind romance that ends in tragedy, leaving him and his mother alone. Along the way, they adopt another boy into their small family.
So again, largely raised on the roads, helping his mother and his older brother with the family business. Right around the time he displays a talent for magic, his brother disappears after the murder of a local, so his mother panics. She canât lose her youngest son too, sheâs already put to rest a lover and her eldest is gone to the wind. So heâs raised away from the Circles, becoming something of a hedgemage.
His magic is...clunky, from being self-taught, but heâs got an appetite for learning and tries finding other sources for education. When they come across a Dalish clan that wants to trade, he tries speaking to the Keeper and the clan mages, and when theyâre trading along the borders of the Tevinter Imperium, Tick tries to get his little hands on every book of magic he can possess.
Eventually, he parts ways with his mother. Too many close calls with the Templars, and he loves her too much to see her in trouble for hiding an apostate. It breaks her heart to see him go, but itâs not like losing her oldest son all over again.
Heâd do well under someone who knows what theyâre doing, heâs got a hunger to learn more, and soaks up knowledge like a sponge. But for the meantime, heâs doing what he can to get by.
//man itâs tempting to make a dragon age and fallout verse for Tick...
I'm LIVING PROOF thatâs what LOVE can do
Tick: My mother raised me to do the right thing, always tell the truth, and never to steal.
Tick: One outta three isnât too bad, I guess?
"Anywhere else and you would be hung until dead for that..."
âThatâs a little dramatic, donât you think?â Tick said, still examining the ancient book. Its pages were brittle, and as he closed it, a little puff of dust escaped. He didnât expect anything less from something pilfered from a coffin, the resident long since dead.
Or, he supposed, from the Bosmer telling him off. He tucked the book into his satchel, adding in a sulky tone, âItâs not as if a dead Nord is going to use it. Why even bury it in the Hall of the Dead in the first place?â

Sword and Sorcery III
"A chest standing unprotected in the middle of the room. That's not suspicious or anything..."
"Charging into every problem is not how we should solve things."
"You could try to seduce them..."
"How much do you want to bet a demon or devil is involved?"
"A magical portal. Lovely."
"A cult is planning on waking an ancient deity."
"I found a map!"
"Do not touch!"
"I have an arrow with their name on it."
"You have my sword and my shield."
"Feel like doing a little dungeon delving?"
"There are good dragons, evil dragons and neutral ones; but they are ALL selfish and greedy."
"Is there something wrong, human?"
"Never trust an elf."
"What are you, some sort of pixie?"
"Sorry. Didn't mean to stare. Never seen one of your kind before."
"My axe is razor sharp."
"I'm not sure you can lift my hammer."
"Anyone got a healing potion?"
"I got a bad feeling about this..."
"Let us go carousing!"
"Adventure? Did someone say ADVENTURE?"
*growls*
"Anywhere else and you would be hung until dead for that..."
"Sorcery is not welcome in these lands."
"Might want to keep yourself hooded."
"I might have stabbed someone."
"I found something on the floor..."
"I don't trust this guy."
"I need a favor."
"Are you the local exterminator?"
"It's going to be cold tonight. Perhaps we should share a bedroll."
"Is the door locked?"
"I lost my weapon."
"We aren't going to survive this, are we?"
"Never say die."
"What kind of adventurer carries a lute?"
"You're bleeding."

Tickâs first reaction to conflict is to try deescalating it as quickly as possible. Heâs pretty well aware that heâs not built or trained to go toe-to-toe with someone else, so he relies on keeping calm and cool whenever threats arise. If heâs lucky, he can talk things out and get things settled before they get violent, and if heâs even luckier, he can skedaddle his way out of trouble after getting everything calm and chill.Â
The Jesterâs Festival is today and it is an excellent time to avoid any and all villages, cities, and travelers on the road with even a smidgeon of humor in them.
