XMEN 97 LIVEBLOG PT 2

Episode 3:

Forgot to type while I was watching. EPIC EPISODE, I LOVE MADELYN. I LOVE THE MORPH/LOGAN SHOWER SCENE!!!

The whole clone reveal was great, but I wish it had more time to build up, especially for people who probably didn't watch the og show right before this, although that does make it better for me!

Them losing Nathan made me sad but I cemetery understand why.

Ep. 4:

The rogue/magneto tension is very wierd and I don't really like it. I also don't enjoy how much magneto hates on jubilee for wanting to celebrate her birthday. I would think that since she is so young, he would want her to enjoy it. And it's not like he HAS to go! He can stay home if he wants! They asked jubilee what SHE wanted to do *not what he wanted.*

The Roberto and jubilee friendship is cute, but I really hope they stay friends for a while longer, but with the fast pacing so far I don't think that will be the case.

I like the call back to the first season, with the genosha episode! It's nice to see things from that far back =]

Ok. I saw MOJO on the title card but. Man I was not looking forward to seeing him so soon. He's slightly nicer to look at in the updated style, but I miss his og voice.

I love the xmen/tmnttit graphics for the video games it's neat!

I'm suprised at how hard they go on trying to make jubilee *grow up* and show her stuck in the past, when she only mentions her frustrations with all the sudden changes like. Once. One line. And I also don't think Roberto is the right one to give her this talk, especially when we know so little about him so far.

The magneto fight was cool, I like how it video games jubilee seems to be.

The older jubilee wasn't a great twist. I almost wish it was Longshot. OR maybe spiral and just tired of mojos shit. Again I think she's going a little hard on jubilee for voicing her displeasure with things changing so fast.

I like them working together though!

And now jubilee is kissing Roberto. Lnew the friendship wouldn't last.

The forge and storm romance seems very sudden, and it kind of reminds me of her and arkon in the og show. but I'm not a huge comic reader so maybe they have more exploration there? Or its just the show since the pacing is like a train with no breaks. We're just into the nitty gritty really early.

I wish this part of the episode got its OWN episode, since it really REALLY needs to slow down.

I'm also confused why forge and storm act like they've never met when... they HAVE. in the og show they meet up at least once trying to stop Bobby from breaking into the training camp.

Oh the forge making the.collars was. NOT built up properly. I'm glad storm slapped him.

I am glad it's a simulation, and I called it.

Ep.5:

I hate this tildy reporter but I'm putting a bet in that she's a mutant.

Genosha seems to have grown FAST.

I'm so glad that I watched the og show, I would have been so lost at Charles death!

It always suprised me how deep they leaned into the nazi-esque symbols for f.o.h, and I'm glad they kept them in the new show. It's important.

Love seeing bishop become a more permanent member of the team! Confused how he's still here if beast is tinkering with his time band.

I do think logab was kind of an asshole to the kid, like lock innnnn. Don't scare him off!!

I disagree with jeans idea that thwy should leave, I just don't think that's any sort of good idea. They've been on TV so so many times, you aren't going to be able to avoid being recognized if you move away, even if they went to like. Genosha or something.

My friend has agreed to watch ONE tmnt movie. It is my only chance to possibly get them into the franchise. I am looking for the movie that has the most hooking introduction, and am heavily leaning towards the rise movie due to the animation quality and humor.

No one, and I mean no one, would support Mikey more than Raph if he went ape-shit.

no cause I actually think about this a lot. There are plenty of scenes where Mikey’s baiting Raph. There’s always a reason, we know this— whether for his own entertainment, or to pull Raph out of his head— but what if one day it was reversed?

Imagine Mikey sulking, struggling with something internally, something dark and heavy that he doesn’t want to burden his brothers with, thoughts so draining that he can’t fake his usual optimism either. I’m thinking, for 2012 Mikey, maybe reliving the lonely years spent in Dimension X, like a stubborn anxiety attack. Or for 03 Mikey, the guilt of Master Splinter taking that fatal hit for him from the Shredder.

Raph notices, and lets it go on for a few hours, keeping a watchful eye. They all get into funks sometimes. But when it doesn’t let up, he invites Mikey to spar, to which Mikey sluggishly agrees, cause why not. Maybe it’ll do something.

It starts out normal, until Mikey lands a hit harder then he meant to; a brutal kick reserved for being out on the field. Raph doesn’t chide him like Leo would, or correct him like Donnie. Instead, he braces himself. Mikey takes it as permission and keeps going. It gets intense; a full out spar without holding back, Mikey on the offense, swinging his nunchaku as hard as he can and Raph bearing it, blocking, giving ground. Mikey can’t bring himself to stop, cause it feels so good to let loose and go ape-shit, and he wonders, is this how Raph feels all the time??

Ten minutes pass. Half an hour. He’s still going, all that bleak nothing finally having somewhere to go. A target. Raph takes it, holding steady.

An hour later, the strange energy is fading. He ditched his nunchucks some time ago, knuckles scraped and bruised now. Mikey’s burning out, sweating and seeing double but he keeps swinging as hard as he can, slower and sloppier.

He trips, mid-swing.

Raph catches him, right into a hug. One of his signature, bone-crushing ones. He always catches him. It’s a constant, and it’s grounding enough to re-center him.

Mikey’s breaking before he realizes, holding on just as tight. He’s finally able to to find his voice and whisper his pain, and as he does, Raph listens to every word.

Yesss I ADORE THIS!!! I genuinely think mikeys anger is something that would have been such a cool idea in the 2012 show for them to have addressed. Especially with episodes like "Journey to the Center of mikeys Mind" where we DO see that raphs not the only one with an anger problem. After all, mileys anger manifestation is HUGE. I'm sad they didn't touch on it more because it would have been such a great way to have raph and mikey bond. Mikey does a fine time keeping it in check most of the time, but he's not immune from it slipping out. raph is known for letting his anger get the best of him. It would be great if we could see it flipped on its head, where mikeys the one having the bad day! I do think mikey uses his pranks as an outlet for his anger but sometimes methods like that don't work 100% of the time, so it would be fun to see raph try to calm mikey down and or see and help him fuck some shit up.

Dispatch spoilers for invisigla romance and the ending.

Also this isn't invisigal hate, I think she's an interesting character. I just wanna talk about what I think about her

I'm currently going for the no romance route but I've seen an invisigal playthrough and I have to say that what strikes me as wierd the most is the way z team constantly cheers for her.

Like with her catching lightning struck. [I still don't believe that catching him could have bumped her past sonar and coupe but that's not what this is about]

We can all see that z-team is trying.

Everyone besides punch up in the initial meeting says they need the job. And they're fucking TRYing to keep the job! That's why they sabotage one another, to climb the ladder rung so they won't get kicked off. And we can see that malevola and punch up hold some amount of resentment for the invisigal situation when you cut sonar or coupe.

And then the final fight with the red ring and shroud. Shroud admits Courtney was working for him, was planted. I just figured z-team wouldn't forgive her so easily, not after, even if it all worked out. ESPECIALLY PUNCH UP OR MALEVOLA.

Malevola even more so, being sonar sponsor. I knownthe whole point of the cut is that it's a bad idea that we should have stopped. You're throwing a person who is trying to claw their way out of addiction or violence by their nails and the skin of their teeth, only to kick them back out onto the street.

But wouldn't you think that would make them resent invisigal more? Don't you think that would push their buttons?

Don't you think they would be angry, especially when Courtney can just give into being a villain again? You force sonar or coupe back to this life, but Courtney gets a fucking slap on the wrist.

I personally chose the "you can be who you choose to be but you have to commit." Dialogue after Courtney brings in lightning struck.

And Robert's right it's easy to quit when you're not good at something.

Courtney has a lot going on but so do the rest of them. And thwyre all commited. Maybe for different reasons. For sonar its mal. For coupe its money and punch up. So I can't see them forgiving her so easily. They celebrate her so easily.

I can't see them celebrating her when she continually chooses to fuck up their lives in tandem with hers.

Eventually maybe but not right away.

DELTARUNE CHAPTER 3 CONCEPT BOSS, BUT ITS NOT ACTUALLY SPOILERS

I havent played deltarune chapter three and four yet, and i am DODGING SPOILERS AS BEST I CAN, but int he meantime, heres what i thought the chapter 3 secret boss mght be like? Basically its a conjoined twin situation with a moon and a sun, but the sun is crazy!!!! {Can you tell i like celestial pairs?} They were a little kids tv show mascot, akin to Dora the Explorer or the Moose and bird from the old nick jr mascot ads? Kris and Asriel used to watch them growing up, and the moon talks to kris and susie like theyre children and theyre old pals =] Suns in the most control of the body, but moon uses any control they have to lock sun in their old studio, hidden behind a locked channel that kris susie and ralsie need to find the code for. Once they break in, Moon begs them to help heal sun, which leads to sun fighting them. Sun and moon have a split face due to their brak in mind and connection, but depending on the route, you can fix it. at the end of their turn, moon makes the last attack sun shoots out GREEN, to heal you!!! If you ACT to defeat them, their faces get closer! You can eventually help moon calm sun and put them back together, giving moon more control of the body. This gives you the SPLIT FACE MIRROR, Which for 35TP, shield two of your party members for TWO TURNS, at the cost of them not being able to gain TP for those two turns, even if they are defending, or if on kris, grazing. If you FIGHT to defeat them, the father their faces get from each other, but you ALWAYS kill moon first because they are a third of suns HP, shattering them, and puttign sun in full control. Suns attacks get much harder, and they Fight you with everything they have, and when you win, You get the star shards! The person you have it equipped on hits the enemy thy choose 3 times in one FIGHT turn, for a tighter perfect hit window. LLike i said, its just a concepts, and IDK how balenced it would be? But i hope you enjoyed my silly ideas!!! DELTARUNEEEE NOWWWWWWWWWW
