It was today that Chii had decided to go out and explore the city of Bunkyo. It was new, large, and easy to get lost in, but somehow, Chii had managed without difficulty to navigate the rather large city. While she wasn’t at all surprised at the strange looks that she often got from the other people around her, she didn’t mind as she continued on without any direction whatsoever. Where could she go? She was simply exploring the large city by herself, and it wasn’t like she was at all concerned to being by herself.
Even if she did just get released from the hospital not too long ago.
She came to a park and saw that there was a swing. Immediately going toward it, she sat down, watching the children nearby play in the sand. One child came over and tugged at her hair, immediately reminding her for all the children that often wandered the hospital. Kneeling down, she would often talk to them in a very soft-spoken voice. The children always seemed to have an immediate liking toward the girl, but not knowing why that would be the case. Walking over toward the sandbox, Chii began to play with the children with relative ease, going at their own pace until it had been time to go and she was left alone all over again.
But Chii didn’t really know or understand the feeling of loneliness, at least, not yet so she did not mind it as she simply got up again and began to explore the park. Now that there weren’t much people here, Chii found it strange that there was no one around. It wasn’t until she spotted someone on a basketball court, playing by themselves did she start walking over.
Adorned wearing a simplistic white sundress with matching white sandals, Chii made her way over as she watched the stranger put the ball through the hoop. The stranger wore such bright clothes that it made her wonder if it was a new fashion nowadays to wear such flashy clothing. If anything, the bright clothes made him stand out. Thankfully, it was closing close toward the sun setting so it didn’t hurt her eyes as much as she thought it would have. A small noise caught her attention to the side and she noticed a small monkey sitting on the sidelines, watching as what she would assume to be his owner to be shooting the hoops. It wasn’t until eventually did the ball come rolling her way did she bend down to pick up the ball. Tilting her head to the side, she murmured, “… Chii?” Where she stood was the sidelines, at the halfway marker. Remembering the form that the male had been using a little while ago to shoot the ball through the hoop, she mimicked his move to shoot the ball, using just enough strength to put the ball through the hoop with a satisfying swish!
But she wasn’t sure if that was the purpose and turned toward the male, again, tilting her head to the side in question as she murmured, “Was Chii allowed to do that? Was it supposed to go in like that?” She wasn’t even sure if she was allowed to pick up the ball either since it was his in the first place, but Chii had wanted to get it a try. “… And… is he your friend?” she asked, gesturing toward the monkey.—{☆}
"Mm?" After about 10-23 shots later the ball bounced and steered itself toward the feet of a rather petite young lady. Immediate first thoughts? A ghost, an angel, a virgin that died as has come back as a ghost/angel. Someone needs to cut back on the mangas. It's all thanks to her snow white appearance that suited her personal essence. At first he opened his mouth to call, but took back his voice as she picked up the ball and took a players stance. Being quiet the observer he let her demonstrate, expecting a pretty silly and cute miss. Once the ball left the tips of her dainty fingers, his eyes followed.
Shwoosh~
WHAT THE--!
Those brown eyes burst open, body leaning forward.
"Whoa, what a shot!" His voice echoed among the spacious court. His head tilted sideways, letting himself savor the amazement of such a pale white princess making such a shot and not even once thinking that it was just one real miracle. His face went from flabbergasted to bright and cheery, taking his steps toward the young lady in white, catching the ball while on the way. He slowed down, stopping right in front of her, his grin becoming more sheepish with what she said. He should have known better that it was really just a miracle shot. Either way, it was pretty amazing and something you wouldn't see everyday. If only he could get that on tape or something and post it on a social site. Ah well...
"Ah?" He turned his gaze toward his benched companion who quickly took a leap, skittering along the court's pavement and climbed up his tall friend to perch at his shoulder. One of the most comfy sitting spots in the world.
"Ch'yeah, he is! My best friend, really. Y'like him?" Well, talk of basketball is gonna be out of the question, assuming she has absolutely no idea of the sport. She had this over abundance of innocence that he sensed from her. Call it a sixth sense of sorts, being able to tell (sometimes) what people are like just by a observing their body language, their look and how they speak. Best not rattle her head with any nonsense that'll corrupt her well being, so let's talk about this cute monkey.
"His name's Yumekichi."
Ki!
"And my name's Keiji. Nice to meet'cha. Heh, gotta say, I'm pretty blown away by that shot there, heh!"

This sucked.
A less than perfect grade on what the professor called ‘an easy A’ earned him a thorough lecture, of which all the words practically went in one ear and out the other after the initial ten minutes. It wasn’t that he was necessarily a bad student or stupid, he just wasn’t the ‘studying’ type of person and more often than not, it got him in a bit of… well, academic trouble. Spending time with his face stuffed in some math or English text book wasn’t him, it was the quite opposite of everything he enjoyed and was good at.
Give him a math problem, he would take days – maybe even longer or not at all – to figure it out, but give him a basketball and it’s like second nature to him, almost like breathing or moving his arms and legs. It was like a sanctuary, something he could do in his sleep and felt most comfortable doing. He preferred the scent of a freshly waxed court as opposed to the stench of a classroom. They all seemed to carry a similar smell, though with some differences.
Kagami had a fairly sensitive nose that could detect the scent of another person’s strength; the stronger they were, the more pungent the scent was and the weaker they were, the less noticeable it was. Though there were some exceptions, like in his shadow’s case where there was no scent, it was pretty rare and usually there was always a scent to everyone’s strength. School work smelled like a headache waiting to form the moment he looked at words that got crammed too close together after being stared at for too long and math problems looking like a language he didn’t understand, something not English or Japanese. Just something far too complicated and nothing he wanted anything to do with because it wasn’t basketball.
“…And if you want to continue playing basketball, you’ll have to get more serious about school—”
He froze. His whole body went rigid as if it were made of stone, the evident threat of his ability to play for the school’s basketball team signaling a blaring alarm inside him. If nothing the professor said prior mattered, this did and it would be crushing to be unable to play in games or with the team. Shock was registered first and anger would soon follow, but it wasn’t rearing its head just yet. It would though, once he got away from there. Virtually everything was tuned out after that, as it was like his world was impending crumbling like a demolished wall.
When finally released from the professor’s tirade, he started making a beeline out of the building and towards a place where he could let off some steam, where he felt most at home: the basketball court. He forgot completely that he’d left his ball at home and hadn’t made the realization until he made it to the court, cursing himself harshly underneath his breath that he didn’t have the most vital component to play basketball – a ball. Kagami would have turned and went home, but the fate’s seemed to have a different plan for him and that was when he noticed someone was there, at the court, already playing—
And not too shabby, despite a few misses; the successful shots made up for it, and Kagami was a little more than slightly intrigued. Though the bright clothing worn by the mystery player did a number on his eyes, he ignored it in favor of walking onto the court and making his presence known. “Oi, you. You don’t look half bad.” Maybe he could coax this guy into a game of one on one or something; that would work wonders for the anger still coursing through his veins. “You on a team or something?”
BGM: Day at the Academy
Math, my dear boy, is nothing but the lesbian sister of biology.
His ears perked at voice that called for his attention. He was fixing to take another shot, but canceled his stance, lowering the ball to his chest and perked his brows to the stranger. First impression?
...!
Eyebrows!
His eyes burst open, his brows perked having tunnel vision this guy's most peculiar feature on his forehead. Just look at them! Real unusual, but gave a certain cool aspect to make him look pretty intimidating (Kind'a like a hot-headed fighter from a video game/anime). A wild spirit! You can say Keiji has a sort of sixth sense in figuring out a feel details about a person by their unique qualities to show. Though he's not always right as has gotten into trouble a few times here and there assuming the worse out of an individual. Lips curled into a smile, expressing the gratitude toward the comment coming from a stranger.
"Why, thank you." He turned his bright colored figure toward the red head, having the ball tap the ground and back up to a hand once or twice between catching it again in a tight grip between both hands, his body language hinting a pass at the athletic male.
"Nope, but I was in one back during my high school days."
He pushed the ball, having it catapult right toward the guy for him to catch. Like Kagami's sense of smell toward the strong, Keiji himself had a thing just like it, but not through smell. You can say he can sense a sort of aura about people. Talk about being a hippie, but it was true. This guy's aura could be compared to the heat. Like the heated breath of a wild animal, baring its fangs, readying to dominate. A little scary, but exciting as there was competition in the air, something he hadn't experienced for a while in this sort of environment. Must be the testosterone stirring up a storm in their bodies.
"How 'bout yourself, friend? I can already tell you showing up here you got a thing for the game and you look like you can play a decent one."
He stressed 'decent' with a smug grin about his face, purposely pushing at this guy's buttons to edge on a competitive reaction. The guy looked like he was brimming with pride and confidence, easy to piss off. Even Yumekichi can feel the intense challenge stirring in the air, ready to create a raging hurricane that'll tear this court apart! It was a little scary. He had every right to worry, having seen the history behind the sport and Keiji himself that caused him to sort of... lose his passion for basketball at that time. However, this was none of his business and something he can't stop. Stepping between them would waste the intense build up between them.
U'ki..
[AURP || I didn't forget you guys! I promise!]
I swear I didn't forget you guys. I got pulled into a tough call, didn't even have much of a chance to get on, but now I'm back and I sure do owe some replies (Kagami and Chi). Hope ya aren't too disappointed in me, heh!

After a few days settling in with the starting semester, Keiji roamed about the city, his fashion statement bright, being the kind of guy to wear neon colors and all. He sported a half zipped neon pink hoodie and yes, he was one of those kinds of guys that had no shame in wearing pink. With it, he wore white baseball cap, a neon blue shirt with a black graffiti looking design and a pair of fresh white cargo shorts and a pair of neon blue sneakers. Pretty happenin', right? Anyway, after strolling along the busy areas, he ventured into a pretty quiet one, mostly with an assortment of little shops and a convenient store here and there. From the hood of his bright hoodie, that little companion of his, Yumekichi popped those beady little black eyes out, scouting out the current environment. That little mouth opened, letting out a squeaky uki that caught on Keiji's attention. His head canted a bit, eyes trailing to his small friend.
"What's up?" It looked like the little guy was pointing somewhere, too. The little guy leaped from that hoodie hammock of his and crawled over Keiji's shoulder, sitting up right with his finger pointing onward. His eyes followed, still a little on the confused end, but he finally got attention of what his little friend was spotting out. An idle outdoor basketball court.
"Whoa, check it out." His feet just moved on their own, drawn to the court with a momentary flash back of his highschool days when he was a 2nd year joining the basketball club. With his build and height he was a natural at the sport, an all around ace with his talent. Once making it into the court, he took a look at the backboard, hoops and nets. The place was in pretty good condition from the looks of it. With his mind reminiscing of the slightly younger days, the pocket sized primate leaped from Keiji's towering height, landing at the hands and feet to scamper off and squeaked. Once he snapped back into reality he spotted his little buddy next to a basketball.
"Oh, sweet!" There goes his body acting on it's own again, traversing to the ball, picking it up to toss it just a little, watching it spin in the air before falling back to them, checking out it's condition by appearance and testing it with a few quick dribbles, running back to the 3 point line of the court. After moving his body in place for a bit, he steadied himself, taking a crouching stance. Then his body straightened with a hop, lifting the ball overhead and releasing it. The ball arched in the air toward the hoop, ricocheting off the backboard to the rim, bouncing right out.
"Yikes, I'm rusty." Depression took his face, a little disappointed, but understood it had been a couple years since he even last played the sport. He chased the ball, picking it back up, immediately bouncing it while trotting his way back to the 3 point line, prepping again. Crouch, leap, shoot! ...Another miss.
"Ah, man this is embarrassing." He laughed to himself, giving the shot another try, though this time he took his time. With instinct, he analyzed his distance, his strength and what he did to make himself miss. Adjusting his strength just so, he hopped letting the ball leave the tips of his fingers, flying to the hoop. The ball banged against the backboard and fell through the hoop.
"There we go. I knew I still had it in me." A grin spread across his face, chasing the and continuously shooting it to the point where he got his grove back in shooting 3 point shots while Yumekichi sat his little butt to the side watching without getting bored.
