I'm sorry I just need to talk about these skulls. WHAT is going on here. why are Hitomi's vertebra so different from Hitch's? Why does Hitch have a pointy ass fang? Where'd all the teeth go? Why did Hitomi get zero tummy time? Drake, Where's the ear hole?

i actually have to dissect this this is so bad.
for hitomi: why is her spine so thick????? does he think she's "big boned"?? and why is her head so flat. and tall. cat skulls are almost cartoonishly round actually. and of course wtf is that overbite, cat skeletons have jaws that fit perfectly together. and why the hell is her nose hole on the top of her nose. that would make her have a soft little part on the top of her snout which would be fucking weird. they even have a heart shaped hole it would match the drawing to draw it like that!! if he wanted to mix human and animal skulls THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO DO THIS (maybe i'll draw examples later if i'm bored)
and hitch... first off why do their skulls look so similar? cats and rodents are wayyyy different biologically, everyone knows that. this one is better shaped BUT mouse heads are even more stretched out than cats so it's a net zero. mouse eyes are wayyy further back on the head (since they're prey animals) and their spine connects far back too, since compared to cats who walk with their head raised, rats walk with their head to the ground. AND THE TEETH, why does hitch have so many teeth and why are they fangs? and why does his cheekbone and snout go UP so he cant close his mouth proper, plus it would probably make his nose hilariously easier to break. and the nose hole is ON TOP OF IT?????? what the fuck i didnt even see that what the fuckk does he have a nose between his eyes. i did look up spiny mouse skeletons to confirm but it looks essentially the same
i feel like hitch being given such a round skull and hitomi being given a more tall square one is realllyyy giving gender essentialism... but that could be a stretch based on previous experience
It might be gender essentialism but also I feel like its just salem not giving a fuuuuuck. I dont even care if theyre mostly human, clearly his characters are like that so a human shaped head instead of a rodent one makes sense. Its just that theyre so comically bad that it makes you wonder how it got drawn at all
the overbite rep would be great if it was actually intentional and not just that salem doesnt know how to draw skulls as someone with an overbite

I hope everyone here understands that I post Salem's lies and contradictions with proof just to show how easy it is for him to lie about even the littlest, dumbest things. If he's willing to lie about things like him celebrating his birthday "for the first time", and we all already know he lied about something way more serious like his miscarriage happening and claimed it was a "delusion", then I truly believe he's willing to lie about even bigger, even more serious things.
I want to show there's a pattern and that it's not strange for people to doubt some of the things he's said.

Y'know what, credit where credit is due, that "as black as the moon" piece had some potential. Hell he could have even included references to/inspiration from Moonlight, a movie about a black gay man navigating the intersectionality between his race and orientation. The pieces are all there for something that COULD be really meaningful and speak to the experience of black queer masculinity... but once again it feels like it falls short because Salem is more focused on showing off scantily clad or naked bodies and any other themes become an afterthought. It's so disappointing to see him take elements of black culture, especially from other artists who utilize these elements in more interesting and compelling ways, and treat them as nothing but window dressing for his barely-disguised pinups.

What was that person expecting Salem to do by telling him that? He never actually directly addresses salt blogs so I doubt he is going to do it now.
Yeah idk. Maybe we'll see some salem posts talking about slurs or ableism or whatnot but like, a genuine mistake of not realizing a word was supposed to be a slur is not "just wanting to call salem slurs" as one anon said.

Oh brother. my two cents: the 'wahwah' was a bad move but he retracted it immediately, I know kungpowrevvy personally and I know he can sound aggressive/angry when he isn't really and he reacts immediately to things. English is his second language and I understand why he wouldnt clock the slur. Up to him if he feels the need to apologize. Ok thanks that's all ill say on it
