Women in 2023

I want to talk about something that I experienced last night. I was watching Sanremo, a famous music competition in Italy. This year Chiara Ferragni is the co-host. Even if her inexperience on a stage was evident she brought an important message thorough 4 Dior dresses that she wore during the night. You can see them on Chiara’s page with a description that explains the idea behind each one.

Later, last night Chiara showed on stage with “The Shameless Dress”: a nude color dress with her body embroidered in it. As you can see from the picture below it creates the illusion that she is naked.

While I was watching the show with other people I started to hear their judgements about her body. I felt embarassed about such unkind comments to someone that was just showing herself vulnerable and genuine.

Later I discovered the next dress was “The Hate Dress”: a simple white dress with Instagram comments written on it, about her body and the fact that shows “too much” of her body on the Internet.

I was quite horrified that some comments written on her dress weren’t quite different from those that I heard some time before. I don’t know if it was done on purpose but to all those that judge her I hope that they understand their error and feel ashamed to judge a woman’s body because it doesn’t reach their beauty standards or for any other reason. 

I hope that in the future I can feel free to wear whatever I want shamelessly and to live in a world where I can be myself without fear.

What happens when I discover a new tv series

Day 1: “This tv series seems to be sooooo boring... it has been recommended to me by several friends and everyone talks about it but there’s no way I’ll see it!”

Day 2: “The actors are quite handsome, maybe I could... NO! I have better things to do.”

Day 3: “A friend of mine asks me to watch it twice, I should see the first episode just for make her happy.”

Day 4: “Ok, it’s quite interesting but I can stop watching it without regrets any time I want.”

Day 5: “Finally I have some time for myself, I can see just a couple of episode and then do something productive.” 

*Ending up watching the entire first season and spending the day in bed* :’)

Day 6: “I have a problem: I’m addicted to this tv series.”

One day I was in Milan having my dinner in a outside table of a bar and I couldn’t stop watching at an old woman on a wheelchair asking for food. In that moment I was thinking how a person could suffer as much to become a beggar.

Meanwhile a guy was coming out of a near beckery, as he approached the woman she asked for something to eat and he offered some bread he had just buyed. I was very surprised by his umanity and semplicity in doing such an act.

When someone sees a beggar they immediatly feel scorn, because it’s in our nature to distrust people that we don’t know. I also behave in this way but, I think, sometimes we should stop to be indifferent and think about what other’s life is like, stop to be suspitious and just help.

Why we never see them in the same scene? Which was the last time you have seen Simon and Alec talk? Maybe they haven’t even had a proper talking.

I mean Magnus is a sort of paternal figure for Simon and Alec is Magnus’ boyfriend, soon or later Alec will have to deal with his “step-son”. Lol
