âOh, so youâre new here? Iâd love to show you around, I can do this anytime.â Farrah couldnât hide her smile, and she jumped up from the table a little too quickly. She shook her head and stared at the carpet, trying not to seem as enthusiastic. She wanted to be careful with her first impression on Annette, and she realized it was different than all the other times sheâd cared what others thought of her. Farrah felt like she really needed Annetteâs approval, and her friendship. She shot another toothy smile, and slung her bag over her shoulder. âYou lead the way,â she said through her smile.
Annette smiled back at Farrah, slinging her book bag back over her shoulders as she stood up. âWell, I guess you know this is the library.â She laughed, leading the other girl out into the hallway. âSo, tell me about yourself. HowâŠhow was your Valentineâs Day?â Annette asked hesitantly, beginning to wonder her way to the gym. She could tell that Farrah was a little more interested in getting to know her rather than the school.
âWell, I guess you know this is the library." Farrah giggled, brushing her hair behind her ear. âSo, tell me about yourself. HowâŠhow was your Valentineâs Day?â Farrah straightened her posture, glancing around. Why is she asking about Valentine's day? As much as Farrah wanted to find this weird, she couldn't hide her goofy grin. "Boring, they always are," she smirked, "and how was yours? Did you boyfriend get you anything?" she laughed, hoping it didn't seem too obvious why she was asking.
