Is this my triumphant return to tumblr? Who knows. But I went to visit TSS Duke of Lancaster yesterday and I wanted to share the photos :)
Last macro post (for now) – a snail shell and some ants on a flower bud.
Macro cobwebs! I love how much detail is in these shots.
Bees!
experimenting with a new-to-me 105mm macro lens
I guess I do macro photography now.
Spring is here; flowers are blooming; polarising filters are showing their worth...
was out taking photos the other day – mostly on film – when I stumbled into what appears to be someone’s LARP site :)
From a roll of KONO Rotwild redscale film I shot back in January and just got processed. Wouldn’t want to use it all the time, but the colour shifts are amazing
First results from my new-to-me ‘60s-vintage Cosmic 35 (Смена 8) camera, using expired (2004) Fujifilm Superia.
Looks like the camera’s working, with good light sealing and sufficiently accurate shutter speeds; and it looks like it has a lovely lens for punchy colour contrast! :D
Still to come: a B&W roll I shot the same day...
Made 6 identical prints, then sepia toned them to different degrees. (Top-left is an un-toned print for comparison. Please excuse the crummy job I did masking off the top-middle.)
Ran a roll of film through my LomoKino, developed, printed it (all 144 frames, over 6 sheets of 10x8 paper), cut it all up, and clipped it together into flipbooks.
Then used a DSLR to make a video of me flipping through them.
contact sheets! :D
I know, I’ve not done a good job of uploading things lately, but I’m still playing around with cameras and chemicals and a darkroom, and I’m still enjoying all those things :)
set I put together for a zine on the theme of urban storytelling / neglected spaces / nooks and crannies
there’s something really fun about shooting slow B&W film with an ultra-wide lens [contact prints probably uploaded whenever I develop this roll] [in the meantime, these posts have some slow-film wide shots]
contact sheets!
Yeah, I’ve really fallen behind on keeping this blog up to date. I guess it’s just gonna be sporadic posting from now on, at least for a while. Good archives though :)
I love textures in B&W
