Happy Helen Keller Day!

June 1st 2014 Did you know? Today is Helen Keller Day! " Since 1971, June 1st has been known as Helen Keller Day. Declared by Lions Clubs International, a volunteer service organization, Helen Keller Day is an occasion for vision testing events, eyeglass donation collections, and other sight-related programs. Helen Adams Keller was born June 27, 1880. At 18 months, she suffered a high fever, which left her blind, deaf, and mute. Despite her challenges, Helen Keller learned to read and write in Braille and became a worldwide crusader for services for the sight-impaired. Helen Keller died on June 1, 1968 at age 87. "

Did you know: Today is Water a Flower day! May 30th 2014 "Water a Flower Day is a reminder to water your flowers...all of them. Sure, we know that this day reads Water "a" Flower (singular) Day. It clearly indicates that a flower should be watered. But, in today's world of equal rights and non-discrimination regulations, how can you single out one particular flower to water? Even if you can decide upon a certain flower, wouldn't the rest of your flowers get upset and file a class action lawsuit? So please, for your own sake, water all of your flowers today. As a gardener, this author suggest you make your flowers very happy with you, by adding a liquid fertilizer to the water. They will reward you with faster growth, and bigger blooms! " Have a Happy Water a Flower Day!
