i'm so serious about roger miller btw the target audience for this post has gotta be single-digit but just the background info in brief is that roger miller is best known for making goofy "novelty" country music but he was a musical genius and the goofy music is also by-and-large genius and innovative and joyous. i think yellow is a silly goober full of silly ideas and also an intense-if-often-confused sense of duty and a lot of overwhelming emotions, so the whole spectrum of like. upbeat sound with unusual rhythms, nonsense lyrics, humor, silly wordplay <--> tenderness, sadness, songs about regret and painful situations, and all the combinations of those things, could actually not just Apply to him, but like Appeal to him. like he might really get a kick out of this music if you showed it to him. he'd relate to "dang me" and "hard-headed me" not because he's really done anything all that bad but because he's Felt like he has yknow. and miller has several fun, silly, and very good love songs about being a Fool For Love, about being so in love you'd do anything for that person, and/or so in love that you lack adequate words to express it (i put two of these on the blellow playlist in my comic), and i think yellow, obviously, could relate to that too.

and again, target audience so so small, but i picture yellow like sitting at green's diner, he's fed like thirty-five flowery dollars into the jukebox and queued up hours' worth of do-wacka-do, right? (i don't think there was actually a jukebox in the diner but look, the flowers will make one, they can do that) and flowery comes in after bigtime fumbling asgore and he just sits at the counter and sighs and he doesn't want to look rude or make yellow sad but this silly bouncy song is not what he needs right now, and he starts to weakly say like "hey, friend, i am so glad you are having a good time with the jukebox, but i'm gonna go ahead and unplug it, alright" but he sits back and listens to it for a moment and it's like god. yeah. i DO wish i had whatever rudy or toriel has that makes them so special to asgore when i can literally give him everything he wants and it's still not good enough. i DO wish i had your good luck charm and you had to do-like-i-do-like-i-do-like-i-do-like-i... and he closes his eyes and rests his head on his arms next to yellow, who hasn't noticed the emotional journey flowery's just gone through and is like absentmindedly smiling and doodling a really cool gun on a napkin. drinking a root beer which is a drink for true cowboys. roger Freaking miller
