Liam shook his head a little too quickly in response to the other’s question. “No. I’m just… I think it suits you, okay? Let’s… Let’s just move on.” For what seemed to be the millionth time in a short while, he was blushing and rubbing awkwardly at his neck. He let out a groan of protest and somewhat playfully batted the other’s hand away. “I’m not a puppy. I’m a human being, thank you.” His attempt of being honest and blunt was just an attempt to get the conversation of him supposedly being cute. He felt the breath hitch in his throat due to the prospect of the word ‘date’. Unable to find words fitting enough, he simply nodded in agreement.
He found it easy to feel at ease, but being with August, it made it all the more easier. He was enjoying himself. Groaning while shaking his head, Liam quite clearly disagreed with the puppy comment. That is until he heard the word ‘romance’. Looking up with a look of shock plastered on his face, he raised his eyebrow. “August, are you really willing to sit through a two hour plus romance movie? Because I don’t think you could handle it.” Liam’s tone was a mocking matter-of-factly one as he smirked at the other male. As he watched him near, Liam crossed his legs a little more and completely averted his gaze away. “N-No… I-I-I think it might be best if…. If you dressed again. Less of that on show, the better.” He mumbled and edged away so their skin was no longer touching, hoping that would release some of the tension he was feeling. Liam cleared his throat and attempted to rise from the bed without showing off what he was sporting downstairs before whining. “Y-You… You should go. We can uh… Can plan our date or something another day. I-I… I remembered I have something to do. Mhm.” He nodded as if there was something important in mind. “I-I’ll show you out.” Liam mumbled, heading towards the door and opening it all while trying to shield himself.
“Alright, alright, whatever you say,” August said and chuckled quietly when he noticed Liam blushing again. All August wanted to do right now was to kiss those reddened cheeks, but he held himself back. He didn’t want to scare Liam. “You’re a human being, true, but you’re just like a puppy. Like a Golden Retriever,” he teased. A small smile formed on August’s face when Liam nodded. So, he was okay with a date?
Without any hesitation, August nodded his head. “Of course I am! I’d probably do anything... if it’s for you. Except for killing someone, and a few other things.” August just shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t like romantic movies at all, he found them quite boring, but he was willing to watch it, if Liam decided to choose a romantic one. August didn’t miss how Liam crossed his legs a little more and smiled to himself, averting his gaze to give the other lad some kind of privacy. He was obviously uncomfortable, and August didn’t want to make it worse for him. “You have something to do? So suddenly?” August raised an eyebrow, obviously not believing any of Liam’s words, but he decided to go with it. “Alright,” he just said and stood up, stretching his arms over his head while looking for his shirt. “There it is.” While August was putting his shirt on again, he watched Liam head towards the door, his eyes fixed on the other male’s ass and thighs before looking up again. “Well, thanks for your time,” August said and walked after Liam, standing at the door and putting his hand on Liam’s shoulder. “I guess I’ll talk to you later then?”
It is boring. I mean it’s predictable.
Ouch, little brother, stop breaking my heart.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret, I’m high as a fucking kite right now.
Well, you definitely look like it, so I’m not surprised.
You really need to stop calling me that.
Nah, that will never happen.
You’re trying to irritate me.
I’m not. You just think I am.
What if I find your music boring?
My music isn’t boring. What are you talking about?
“So what is it stemming from for you? And for who?”
“Now, that’s something I don’t want to talk about.”
Can we…can we please not fight, August. This is why I ended it in the first place.
I’m not even doing anything, Dakota. Not trying to fight at all.
He’s a horrible person.
Just like you, huh?
My taste in a lot of things may suck, yes, but books and music are the only things excluded from that.
Fine, princess, whatever you say.

His forehead creased into a frown as the other became so animated in his laugh. “I-I beg to differ. While some parts of you, aren’t cute, you’ve also given me reason to believe that beneath that Grinch exterior, there’s a huge beating heart.” He gave a grin as if that would prove his point further than his words could. He whined childishly and shook his head. “I’m not a puppy. Puppies are cute and playful and interesting.” Liam couldn’t hold in the laugh in response to August nudging him back. Watching the other scratching his scruff shoudn’t have done anything to Liam, but it surely did. He cleared his throat and pretended to be insulted as if hiding the fact he was preoccupied by admiring August’s facial features. That teamed with the fact he was talking about his damn collection. “Orphan was interesting, yeah. Weird too.” He smiled a little brighter at the idea of the two of them watching something together. “I-I… I’d like that, yeah.”
It was nice to come from something that made Liam so uncomfortable, to something that made him feel so at ease with the same person. He rolled his eyes at the comment of him being a rebel. “I think it was more me being stunned awake. Though, can’t say I regret it.Oh… If you aren’t really all that interested in them, we don’t have to watch one? We could watch Marvel or something else instead, I don’t mind.” He gave a smile to show it was genuine. Honestly, he didn’t mind what the two did, as long as it was not explicit and it was together. Liam wasn’t really mentally prepared when he said ‘sure, take it off’ because the sight he was greeted with, almost made his mouth fall open in shock. He’d seen guys shirtless before and it usually had the same affect, but given the fact it was August made it ten times worse. Crossing his legs into a different position, he attempted to act casual. “S-S-So… Wha-What are the meanings for them all then?”
“Grinch exterior, huh? Are you trying to woo me, Liam?” August asked and bit his lower lip to keep himself from smiling like an idiot while staring at Liam’s grinning face. “You are! You are just like a puppy, I mean, look at those cheeks,” he said and pinched Liam’s cheeks playfully. August didn’t notice Liam admiring his facial features, he was too busy staring at Liam with a fond smile adorning his face. How could anyone be so cute? August just couldn’t wrap his mind around that. “Good, I guess it’s a date then.”
Even though August thought just sitting here and talking to Liam would be boring, it was nothing like that, which surprised August. August wasn’t someone who talked much, but that somehow changed with Liam. “Still a little puppy rebel in my eyes. No, I’m really okay with anything. We’ll just watch whatever you want, it could even be a romantic one,” he said hastily, trying to show Liam that he’s willing to do things for him he didn’t like. August shuffled over to Liam, leaning his back against the headboard while looking at Liam. He didn’t miss how Liam crossed his legs, a smug smile making his way onto August’s face. “You really want me to talk about every single one?” August asked and stared at Liam, his eyes flicking to Liam’s pink lips every so often. Being so close to Liam, their arms brushing and with August being half naked made the tanned male imagine many things.
No it isn’t. It conveys so much emotion, it’s lovely.
Razi, believe me... it’s boring.

Oops, sorry about that.
It’s okay, no need to say sorry.
I disagree.
C’mon Liam, your taste in music is terrible. Admit it.

Liam felt the blush creeping on his face once again. “Do… Do you have to be so cute? It’s distracting and also pretty damn annoying.” He lied before smiling a little. “I would really like to see how you see me though. I will probably end up buying you glasses after though.” He nudged the other’s arm with a gentle laugh. Letting out an embarrassed whine, he bowed his head in an attempt to hide himself. “I collect them… And yes… I name them too.” Liam looked up shyly as the other laughed after mentioning purchasing him a stuffed dog. “I can’t tell if you’re laughing at me, or the idea of you buying me a stuffed toy of you? Both hurt.” He admitted with a mumbled tone. Truth be told, if he did receive such a gift, he’d either buy a display case so it was never ruined or cuddle it to death. Shaking his head, he tried to give a smile. “No… Adoption won’t be the same. Have you never seen Orphan? Or any horror film?” He tried to make a joke out of it, but he knew a friend who had adopted and they had never felt as if that child were their own, and he didn’t want that, not really.
He kept his mouth shut, yet again seeing zero point in continuing an argument where he knew he was right, but would never win. He didn’t know what it was, but something about August was inviting when he wasn’t pulling advances. Letting out a chuckle and the nod of his head, he eyed the other. “I love horror movies. They never scared me, really. I can sit there eating SAW while eating. Know most the words off by heart. I think Silent Hill maybe have been one of the first movies I ever watched. My dad and his friends were horror fanatics. They thought I was asleep.” He chuckled fondly as if he were back in the moment. Liam admired the tattoo, even doing as much as bringing the other’s hand closer so he could see it better. With a cocked eyebrow, he looked at August. “You can take your shirt off, I guess.” He cleared his throat and let go of the other’s hand so he could move further up the bed, a way of turning away so August couldn’t see his facial expression of shyness yet curiousity. “How many tattoos do you have then?” He asked as he settled against the headboard.
August threw his head back and laughed throatily. “Believe me, babe, I’m anything but cute,” he said and shook his head, amused at Liam’s words. There were only a few times where August got called cute, and his mother was the one who probably said more than half. “I see you as a little puppy,” August joked and nudged Liam’s side back, not commenting the glasses, since he already had a pair. August watched Liam’s every move and smiled slighty, humming and rubbing his scruff in thought. “I think a little bit of both,” he answered truthfully and smiled at the other male. He couldn’t wait to go out and look for a few stuffed toys to buy for Liam. “Oh yeah, Orphan. That one was kinda... weird. But in a good way. Of course, I love horror films. Maybe we could watch one together?”
It would be a bad lie if August said he didn’t feel comfortale around Liam, and just sitting here, talking to him about everything and nothing was calming. He could probably do this for hours. “Wow, you’re such a little rebel, Liam. I am impressed, honestly. I watch horror movies too, but I’m not... really interested in them. The most of them are badly done, and instead of feeling creeped out, I just laugh. But I think Hostel is one of my favourite horror movies,” he said and thought about how he had watched the movie all alone in his room with the lights off. August chuckled and grabbed the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head and throwing it aside. He looked down at all the tattoos covering his tanned skin, shrugging his shoulders at the question. August looked at Liam and said, “I stopped counting after the tenth one.” He thumbed the gun tattoo at his hip.
