Blake cursed and damned the whole Earth and any deity that might be listening; he knew there would be hardly any peaceful days when he joined The Pack, but he also didn’t expect that the ONE DAY he decided to take was also a rain of bullets and powder. The projectiles were hitting the vehicle as he scanned the area for any exit that he could use to get Elliot to safety; the last thing he needed was to carry with this in conscience as well. He looked at her, but she was frozen and while acting based on instinct… it was the worst she could do right now. He nudged her not very softly so she snapped out of it. Afterwards, he pointed at an alley not so far that would work as an easy escape and then, reflected on the side mirror of the car they were using to hide, he saw one of his mates, The Bull, come out of his hideout to start shooting with his own automatic rifle. His blood froze because while his comrade was known for being headstrong and arrogant at the moment of fighting, he was breaking the rules; Q had ordered to stay put and never attack back unless one of their own was hurt in action. He wanted to yell at him, but voices were strictly prohibited, SO HE HAD TO ENDURE AND WATCH.
The heavy body of his friend fell on the cold pavement in slow motion as Blake watched horrified how his friend’s mask cracked, exposing part of his face. That was it, that was the queue. He took out his own gun, silver and shiny and even engraved with the word APOGEE on the body of the weapon. He wasn’t quite the shooter like The Hawk, but he could defend himself just fine in situations like this and so, he peeked over his hideout to shoot one of the responsible ones death and then two shots (one missing) to another one, leaving them immobilized with a bleeding knee.
she was still stuck in her own mind, trying to block everything out, but when she felt him shaking her roughly, she snapped out of it. she looked up at him with wide eyes, her body trembling ever so slightly in fear. she looked over to where he had pointed and nodded a little, taking a few deep breaths as she pulled off her shoes, there wasn’t any way she could run in those heels. with one last breath to calm herself (as much as she could in this situation), she got up and darted toward the alley, her shoes hooked on her fingers as she made it to safety. she made sure to run almost completely down the alley, leaning up against a wall to check her surroundings. once she thought she was okay, she took a minute to pull out her phone to try and call her friends.
in the middle of dial tones and voicemails, her hazel eyes darted towards the gunshots and she noticed the wolf getting up to start shooting too. elliot looked away immediately, sinking down to take a seat with her back against the wall. she pulled back on her shoes and continued to try and contact her friends, hoping that they were okay. she immediately felt guilty for all of this, it was her fault that they even went there in the first place, and now she had to sit and wait for their fates.
