The blonde was dressed with a designer dress. It was nice that even when she was clearly pregnant so many of her favorites were still willing to dress her regardless of her bump. She decided to wear comfortable shoes, sneakers to match the dress, mostly because her feet hurt constantly.

Amber knew the moment she had accepted to have her sister and parents throwing the baby shower there was no holding them back. It was nice they were able to crowd control a little by choosing the venue, but that didn’t stop her parents for getting all of her favorite stuff.

The place was filled with people and it was slightly overwhelming her. She stepped out a second to take a deep breath before going back inside, where some of her friends stopped her to congratulate her. Amber was ready to continue her walk inside the place, when a familiar voice automatically made her smile. “ Sorry, wanted to take some air.” She said wrapping her arms around him, hiding her face on his neck.

Faith holds her closer, as close as he could without squishing the little baby still growing inside of her. He placed a kiss to her hair as his hand finds the small of her back. “We can sit outside for a while if you need to stay out longer.” He offered, understanding how overwhelming it can be to be around crowds. He didn’t trust crowds for a long while, still had troubles sometimes. “S’not like anyone would be going anywhere.”

He figured some of the people he didn’t recognize were people who Amber’s sister or parents invited. It didn’t bother him as long as they were trustworthy and wouldn’t cause any problems. So far everything has been smooth sailing.

Amber always relaxed whenever he embraced her. It was as if her worries simply disappeared whenever he was around. “ It’s okay, I don’t want to be rude” she said placing a small kiss on his jawline. Although the overwhelming feeling inside of her, she was excited to finally find out the gender of their baby. It was driving her insane.

“ I know seems like everyone is crazy to be around us today. I seriously can’t believe I let them talked me into this” She groaned a little with a small pout. Part of her had no idea how her family members had planned to do the reveal. “ Maybe we could just escape the madness and find out on our own?” She asked hopefully.

The was about to say something but she froze as a very terrifying voice called for her attention. There it was her father had invited the one person she didn’t want there, “ Ah.” She said softly putting some distance between herself and Faith. “Hi, I was just going to the restroom.” She excused herself not even waiting for her boyfriend to follow to start walking away from the sight of her ex boyfriend.

As Amber’s due date grew closer, the pair felt it was the right time to reveal the gender and allow a baby shower. The whole pregnancy caused a lot of nerves that caused a bit of secrecy, but now that Amber is in her third trimester it was almost over and they felt comfortable letting others celebrate with them. The couple were always careful with telling who about their upcoming baby, and of course, only a handful of people were invited– which ended up being Amber’s family and their friends. Some mutual, some not, but they were important people either Faith or Amber knew and trusted.

As tradition they weren’t directly hosting it themselves but they still did get to choose the location. It was a nice restaurant with a rent-able party room. The “party” room technically looked like a large living/dining room. There were places to sit by a fireplace or there was a long dining table they could sit at. The pair arrived after Amber’s parents and before the other guests. It still felt a little odd conversing with Amber’s parents, but they have always been nice and welcoming.

The room was filled with guests a few hours later and although it was plenty of familiar faces for the male, some he’s spent time talking to, he managed to lose sight of Amber in the mix. Faith didn’t keep tabs on her or anything of the sorts, but he didn’t like to stray too far in case something happened or she needed him. Anything could happen. He wasn’t the tallest in the room but he was able to catch sight of her blonde hair. He’s relieved when he finally finds her talking to two other girls. “There you are, love.” he sighed, coming up beside her. @fckhubben

Amber sighed knowing getting emotional wasn’t something she could control, “ I know but it’s still a lot once you think about it, the baby isn’t even here and I’m already a hot mess.” She laughed it off, cuddling up to his side. “ im scared.”

He released a soft exhale of air, but didn’t move away from her. If anything his arm tucked her closer to his side. “I know,” he says, deciding on his words before speaking them. “but sometimes.. a little fear is good. Bit of a nudge to get you ready.” He glanced down to her. “The feeling will get lighter.”

The blonde nodded at his words, softly pecking his lips in respond. “ You know sometimes you know exactly what to say to make me feel better.” She smiled softly at him before pulling away, “ That was a nice break but we gotta get this over with or at least attempt before we end up living out of boxes as you mentioned before. “

Amber yawned getting comfortable on the sofa. She softly caressed her belly with her finger tips, “ Well if it’s a boy, he’ll be just as handsome as you are. Hopefully not as stubborn though.” She smiles at him, “I know what you mean, I just … don’t want to think about it as effort we were forced to put into the child. I want to think or at least pretend that we were ready for this, and wanted as much from the start as we do now.” She added, her fingers never leaving her bump. “Yeah with twins, it was a surprise”

“Hmm.. ha, if it’s in the genes I’ve got no control in passing it down.” Faith chuckled, eyes flickering to her belly and back to her face. “We’ll be as ready as we can be whenever the baby decides to come.” he reassured her and kissed her temple. “She or he is worth it all and we’re gonna be good parents. You and me, yeah?”

Amber tried her best not to roll her eyes at him, “ You’re do annoying,” she said playfully. Her eyes get watery at his words, it was amazing how all over the place her emotions were. “ Yeah, and that’s all that matters. That we’ll love our kid as much we can”

Faith simply grinned. “Love you too, babe.” He teased. He noticed how her eyes got watery and wraps an arm around her. “Exactly, and you don’t have to cry, love.” He says softly, fingertips brushing against her cheek.

Amber laughed at his expression, carefully removing his hands from her belly so she could pull up her shirt.” You see how it is growing out instead of round?” She explains caressing her bump the one that was becoming more noticeable every single day. “Double the effort? Really?” She asked raising her eyebrow, “ You never know my mom was pretty skinny when she was pregnant with me and my sister.” 

Even as she explained it with a physical model it took him a minute to actually understand it. “Kinda.” he licked his lips after he takes a sip from his water bottle and when he noticed her expression to his previous statement he realized it must’ve come off wrong. “I meant like… energy-wise.” he clarified, gesturing a little with his hand. “Less sleep ‘n’ all.” He clears his throat after. “With twins? Sounds like fu– voodoo.”

His brows furrow at the revelation. “how can a belly be pointy?” That baffled him to no end. “You and me both, on that. That’d be double the diapers, double the clothes, double the effort, everything.” If they did end up with twins, it’d be a struggle but Faith believed they could manage it someway. “But if it were twins, I’d think your belly would be a bit bigger than it is.”

Which is why he accepts her offer. Not because of her cute pout. Definitely not. “Fine, deal.” Logically, he knows they will have to unpack everything eventually, especially the bedroom boxes tonight. “But if we really wanted to, we could live out of boxes.” He adds. “Just saying. If the monster on Sesame Street could live in a garbage bin, why not a box?”

Amber tries her best not to laugh at his comment, “ Sounds like you’re going to be on Sesame Street duty whenever it comes on.” She comments placing a small kiss on his temple. “ Now let’s go take a break before I change my mind and decide to just start unpacking. You know me, I can’t postpone stuff.”

Amber was grateful to have someone like Faith with her at all time during this process. It made her feel more secure in some way. She carefully placed her hand on top of his, “It’s a myth, supposedly if the bump is more pointy than round it’s a boy.” She laughs at his comment, “ Yeah it really does, also I don’t know I mean I’m more concerned about us ending up with twins than anything. Kind of hoping it’ll skip a generation.”

Faith shakes his head a little, but it was likely. Unless the kid ended up hating the show and scared of it. He leads them over to take and break on the couch, which had thankfully been removed from its moving packaged confines. He helps her sit down first before grabbing two water bottles from the packet of water bottles he brought in earlier. He sits down and offered her one. “Here, in case you’re thirsty.”

Amber takes a seat removing her shoes that were really bothering her. Luckily that day she had taken off from work and didn’t have to wear heels, but even her sneakers felt uncomfortable at the time. “Thank you, love.” She smiles at him taking the bottle from him, “ Ugh, now I’m going to have to go to the bathroom multiple times woohoo” she complained resting her head on his shoulder after taking a sip of water. “My mom thinks it’s a boy because of the shape of my belly and all the cravings I have been having.” She commented looking down at her bump, “What do you think?”

Amber smiled sweetly at him warming out at his touch, so far she couldn’t complain. Faith was hands on the entire pregnancy thing always trying to alleviate things on her. From her part she wanted to enjoy every second and make it last, it was as if this was her second chance to experienced something she had wanted so bad. “ Unpacking for tomorrow? We have more furniture brought in tomorrow. Also the delivery for the nursery is expected tomorrow as well” She pouted knowing his offer was tempting but her OCD wouldn’t let her rest until everything was done or at least the majority of it. “ Faith...” she protested carefully turning around so she could wrap her arms around his neck, “ We have to at least attempt to finish what we started it, we can’t have everything in boxes forever.” She states looking into his eyes. “ How about we take a break and then we attempt to at least get our bedroom stuff unpacked?”

Picking houses wasn’t easy, at least not with Amber having such a long list of requests. The blonde wouldn’t settle for anything but her dream house and it was hard because one way or another she knew compromising was a must because Faith would be living in it as well. After weeks that turn into a month of looking for the ‘perfect’ house she had fall in love with one not too far away from the city but still in a nice suburb town. 

The house was huge in the middle of a very wealthy neighborhood with one of the top school districts around. It was a huge jump going from her luxury apartment in Chelsea Ave to such a extravagant house. The inside was perfect, enough space for their baby to run around as much as they wanted, a huge backyard with a pool and some extra land where they could hopefully make some use for. 

After a lot of convincing and whining both of them came to the conclusion that was the house they were going to raise their kid in and got the paperwork going. Amber was happy to move in but she knew it was going to be a massive change and it’ll take time specially with her pregnancy being more advanced than before, she just couldn’t stand being on her feet for too long. “ Ugh please tell me that’s the last box” She whined at Faith both of her hands resting on her lower back trying to release some of the pressure off. “ I can’t believe we’ve been doing this for hours we havent even unpacked yet and I am exhausted.”

Amber lowered her kisses to his jaw line and neck, making sure to suck into it leaving love marks. She hand’t realize how much she missed his touch onto her skin until now that her body automatically craved his warmth. The blonde rested her forehead on top of his looking directly into his eyes, “ Take it off.” She said referring to her shirt, “ I don’t want to think about anything but you tonight, I wan to forget about the world around us for a second. You and me together is all that matters.” She whispered to him pulling him into another kiss.

She noticed the door opening revealing both of their pets. “You know what is the only good thing about pointless arguments?” The blonde asked with a small smirk, as she carefully found her way on top of him. “Make up sex” Amber leaned toward him eyes never leaving his as she teasingly pressed her lips against his.

Faith’s attention barely wavered from the blonde even with the peaking addition of their dogs. The weight of her kept him planted and his hands gravitate over her hips to grasp and steady her between his smooth fingertips. His gaze flickered from her eyes to her lips, then back to the enticing gleam of her eyes. His lips curl into a smirk after their lips met briefly. “Oh yeah?” Admittedly, his heart was beating fast in his chest from being this close again. He pecked her lips and when he’s positive she can support herself he slid his hands to the small of her back.  “Let’s not dabble with it.” He properly kissed her this time, with intent.

At the beginning of the pregnancy she felt hesitante about continuing their sex life mostly because of her insecurities, but deep down she felt confident enough to let him see her body changing each stage. Amber bit onto her lower lip securing her legs around him, her hands caressing his shoulders down to his arms. She didn’t have a chance to response, their lips connected once again and she returned the kiss eagerly, her hips rolling softly on top of him.

Amber felt like a all awkwardness was leaving the room. His words brought tears to hear eyes, it was silly to get emotional over him calling her and their unborn child their family but it meant everything to her. “ No you don’t need to apologize, I love how protective you are. I guess I have been used to protecting myself for so long that I get a bit defensive at times but I do appropriate it. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

His lips twitch into a faint smile from her quoting his earlier words. “I get it, love.” He’s always kept his expectations low, but it may have slipped earlier now that he realizes. However, he wasn’t going to trudge it all up now that they’ve got back on mutual terms. He could faintly hear the sound of the dogs’ paws against the floor coming down the hall and then the door to the bedroom to opening further from where Faith hadn’t shut it all the way.

Amber knew there was so much going on at the moment that she had completely forgotten to ask that question. “I’m sorry for getting mad at you earlier. I know all you wanted was to help” she said softly not wanting to stir things up again but still wanting to let him know she appreacite his attempts. “I’m so lucky to have you in my life and I know for a fact I don’t say it often but I love you so much.”

His fingers pause from their movement. He didn’t feel an apology was necessary, but her words did mean a lot to him. He moved his arm to wrap around her and press her against him, always mindful and careful of her stomach. “I love you too.” he murmured to her softly. “I get really protective of my family.. ‘M sorry for upsetting you, though.”

Amber took a sip of tea before placing the mug on the dresser next to her computer. She continue to wrap her arms around Faith, “ He is, no wonder why Fluff loves him. I doubt he’ll jump on them, I read somewhere that dogs sense how fragile babies are and are extremely cautions around them” She looked up at him, “ can I ask you something?” She started playing with his fingers,”Is this what you expected? I mean it’s a big jump. You would yell me if you were unhappy with how fast everything is happening right?”

Faith adjusted his position to accommodate the blonde’s arms around him. He ended up placing his mug down on the nearest surface to avoid spilling it. His free hand went to softly trace through the back of her hair. “I’d tell you.” Her question doesn’t surprise him. “S’far from what I would’ve expected,” he says calmly. “but the best things happen when you don’t expect them to, y’know?” he paused. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
