Height: 5′5″ / 165 cm
Weight: ~115-120 lbs, closer to 130 in future verses when she starts training in combat and actually gains some muscle
Ethnicity: Hantan (Korean in modern verses)
Occupation: Apprenticed magician and shopowner
Gender: Cis Female.
Sexual Identification: Bisexual
Romantic Identification: Demi- Biromantic.
Myers Briggs Type: The Defender (ISFJ), with some influences of The Virtuoso (ISTP)
Favorite Food: She’s a seafood person for sure. Oysters, lobster, shrimp, salmon, sushi, all of them go over well with her. She also tends to like food with spicy flavour. And, of course, there’s the pumpkin bread the baker makes.
Favorite Drink: Mint, cinnamon or white tea. Mango or strawberry smoothies in the summer.
Favorite Hobby: She has a lot of spare time so she has a lot of hobbies, like oil painting, dancing, and playing songs on the ukulele.
Favorite Scent: The smell of something baking in the oven, hot tea, incense, anything of asra’s
Favorite Person: Pre-game, just Asra sometimes, Faust (shut up she’s part of the family) and the baker. Of course, throughout the journey, Portia, Nadia, Julian, Mazelinka and, eventually, even Muriel make it to that list, along with Asra’s parents, Nadia’s parents and sisters, and many of the Arcana she encounters. The circle grows by leaps and bounds, basically.
List ten facts about your character:
1. She’s got constellations of moles and freckles all over her body, especially her arms and back.
2. Her memory is crap, and she needs to write things down or repeat them to herself several times to remember. And even that isn’t always foolproof, especially if something else catches her attention. Suffice it to say, though, the counter of her shop is littered with little notes and reminders.
3. She’s not a big drinker, at least, in the events leading up to the game. One beer will make her tipsy, and she gets drunk incredibly quickly. Because she doesn’t remember her past, she also doesn’t remember her alcohol limitations, and the first few times she really drinks it’s like being a young kid again; she overestimates herself, mixes alcohols and generally wakes up hungover and with little memory from the night before. Obsessed with memory, and keeping all of the ones she can, Azshara quickly learns to pace herself, however, so the blackout nights are limited, at least.
4. She has a very nice singing voice ! Although, she’s reluctant to sing in front of anyone, and has terrible stage fright, an extension of the anxiety she feels when appearing in front of crowds of people.
5. Her sleeping hours are all over the place, something that only gets worse as Asra takes more and more vacations away. With no one to hold her accountable, she’ll sometimes stay up all night without realising it. The shop’s hours, therefore, are also kind of all over the place.
6. She dreams of travel, and the great wide world, and adventure, but doesn’t leave the shop, mostly because the shop is the only thing she knows, and the only remaining tether to her old life. She doesn’t want to miss if any of her past connections drop by to look for her, for instance. After three years, it’s kind of a dull hope, but it is there. She definitely resents the fact that Asra can and does travel, and often, though.
7. She lives longer than the average person. Not only was she brought back to life with a piece of Asra, a powerful magician in his own right, inhabiting the body of the Fool, the body of an extremely powerful being, her own life is extended by default. Waiting on the next book to see if any more will be explained regarding the connection to the Fool but, being generously low in estimation, I’d say she could live to 150 pretty easily (though I am inclined to say longer, we’ll have to see). She, of course, doesn’t even think about this until she starts outliving everyone, and getting older without feeling the same kind of exhaustion as those around her do. :(
8. A lot of her magic spawns from frustration and a clear outcome of what she wants. Half the time, she can’t tell you the specifics of what she did, or why her magic manifests itself in a certain way. She kind of focuses on the end result and hopes for the best. The exception to this is when she’s borrowing and mimicking Asra’s spells; his magic is more deliberate, with specific steps done to yield a result.
9. She loves ceramics and making things from pottery and the shop is full of mismatched cups and plates of various skill that she’s made over the years. While she enjoys sculpting, she hasn’t spent quite the same amount of time on it so, even though she has improved significantly, she still is quite limited in what she can make, and her workmanship is still far from perfect.
10. Books are expensive in Vesuvia so she doesn’t have very many despite the fact that she loves to read. One of the best presents you can get her is a new book, especially one about travel, other cultures or adventure in general.
1. Magic (and, specifically, tarot card reading)
2. Home / her magic shop.
3. Her friends. And Faust is one of them !
4. Travelling (even though she can’t remember any of her previous travels)
5. Pumpkin bread and chatting with the baker
Five things they dislike:
1. Worms. Thanks, Vlastomil.
2. Not knowing something / being kept on the outside.
3. Count Lucio. And his Court.
Common words/phrases that annoy them? Don’t tell her to calm down, ever, or she’ll seethe and incinerate you with a look. Also using witch in a derogatory way. Basically, just trying to invalidate her in some way.
Personality types they prefer: Adventurous, spontaneous types. Also people who are naturally open and warm.
Personality types they avoid: I feel like Lucio (at least, everything we’ve seen of him so far) is a valid type to say she avoids the hell out of. But also people who are more about the me than the we, or are overly judgmental and don’t know how to lighten up or laugh.
What do you find different (or distinct) about your portrayal?: A lot ? The great thing about the MC of this game is there is a lot left open to interpretation ! Her culture, her past, her strengths and fears and shortcomings and personality are all unique, as are all of the other apprentice rp blogs around ! It’s really quite cool to see all the myriad of ways in which the Arcana apprentices differ, despite having those common in game threads tying them together.
